Installaon Instrucons: OCENS Opmizer Wi Bridge to
Satellite Phones and Docking Staons
1. Remove the Opmizer from its packaging and screw the Opmizer’s wi antenna
onto the Opmizer.
2. Plug the Opmizer into your power source. A blue light on the top of the box should
engage to conrm power.
3. If Fleet Broadband, BGAN or OpenPort, plug the Ethernet cable from your satellite
equipment into the Opmizer SAT port and the Ethernet cable from your computer
into the Opmizer LAN port (if using this approach, skip to step 7)
4. If other devices, a second blue light engages when the WLAN connecon is con-
rmed.
DO NOT PLUG IN YOUR USB CABLE TO THE OPTIMIZER UNTIL THE WLAN LIGHT IS LIT.
5. AFTER the blue WLAN light appears, plug in the USB cable from your satellite phone
or dock. A third blue light (USB) begins to ash as the unit establishes a connecon to
your USB-based phone (or dock) and moves to solid when this connecon is
conrmed;
6. Idenfy & link to the Opmizer wi link posted by your computer, iPad or
smartphone in their respecve wi sengs. It will be the wi link labeled wxa-112-
xxxx
Your Opmizer is now ready to use. However, you must setup OCENS Mail, WeatherNet
4+ or GRIB Explorer Plus for the iPad to properly use the device. These setup instrucons

sengs ) or GE+ (Select GRIBs>>Communicaon Methods>>Communicaon Methods) according to the instrucons below:

**If you are installing the Opmizer with either a 950XX or 950XX dock, the USB-serial used with these devices must be
Prolic (specically Plugable USB to RS-232 DB9 Serial Adapter (Prolic PL2303HX Chipset)). Available from OCENS.
NOTES
—DO NOT push the gray buon on the top side of the Opmizer for any reason.
—On the underside of the Opmizer you will nd a Reset buon. Push this buon if: the WLAN light does not appear, you
have forgoen the wi password you independently assigned to the Opmizer, or if you’ve pushed the gray buon on the
top of the Opmizer.
