return air opening.

INSTALLATION
How To Install Your OdorStop UV Air Treatment System
Ifyourheating/cooling(HVAC)systemisequippedwithair
conditioning,itisrecommendedthattheUVAirTreatment
System (unit) be mounted directly above the cooling coil. The
OS36/OS72 can prevent the growth of a high percentage
of micro-organisms such as mold, bacteria and viruses on
surfaces such as cooling coils, drain pans and duct work.
Selecting Mounting Location
1. The unit can be mounted in any orientation, but should be
mountedinawaythattheLEDindicatorlight(s)canbeseen.
2. Choose a location that will make changing/cleaning of the
UVbulb(s)easy.
3.InstallunitonaatsurfaceoftheductworkABOVEtheair
conditioningcoolingcoil(“ACoil”)ifyourHVACsystemhas
airconditioning.IfyourHVACsystemdoesnothaveair
conditioning, the unit should be installed on the supply air
duct if possible. The unit can be installed on a return air duct
if necessary.
CAUTION: DONOTinstalltheunitinthe“Acoil”orunder
ahumidierasdamagemayoccur.Ifyouareunsureif
youhavechosenacorrectmountinglocation,refertoyourHVACsystem’sownersmanualorcalla
qualiedprofessionalforassistance.
4.Selectamountinglocationthathasaminimumdepthof17inches.TheUVbulbis16incheslongand
must have adequate clearance.
5.BesuretolocatetheunitawayfromanyplasticorrubbercomponentsthatmaybedamagedbyUV
light. If mounting options are limited, plastic and rubber may be covered with aluminum foil duct tape in
ordertoprotectthemfromtheUVlight.
6.Theunithasa6footlongpowercordandmustbeinstalledwithinreachofa120Voltgroundedpower
outlet.Haveaqualiedprofessionalinstallaproperlygroundedpoweroutletifthereisnotonewithin
range of the power cord.

Installing Unit in Duct Work
CAUTION: BE SURE TO WEAR APPROPRIATE PROTECTION AS CUTTING METAL IS LOUD AND
PIECES MAY BE SHARP AND HOT (I.E. HAND, EAR, EYE, AND FACE PROTECTION)
1.DisconnectpowertotheHVACsystembeforeinstallingtheunit.
2. Cut out the template from the back page and tape it to the duct work in
intended installation position.
3. For OS36: drill pilot holes 1- 5 with a 3/32” drill bit where indicated.
For OS72: drill pilot holes 1- 6 with a 3/32” drill bit where indicated.
4. For OS36: cut one (1) - 2 1/2” hole in
duct as where indicated.
For OS72: cut two (2) - 2 1/2” holes
where indicated. Remove any burrs
andbesureductsurfaceisatafter
cutting hole(s).

5. Install the bulb in the unit by sliding the bulb in from the outside until
the bulb snaps into place. Insert the unit into the metal duct work. If
youtouchthebulbwithyourhands,useaclothtowipeanyngerprints
from the bulb(s).
6. Attach the unit to duct work with the supplied 4 sheet metal screws
usinga¼”nutdriver.Makesuretotightenscrewsevenly.Theunithas
a factory installed gasket that ensures a tight seal between the unit and
theductwork.Besuretheunitisatagainsttheductworkonallsides.
CAUTION:DONOTOVERTIGHTENSCREWS.
7. Plug the unit into a grounded 120 volt power outlet.
8. Turn unit on and verify that the
LEDindicatorlight(s)locatednear
theon/oswitchis/areilluminated.
The switch is in the on position
when the solid line on the switch
ispresseddown.IfthegreenLED
light(s) are not illuminated, see
troubleshooting section.

9.ReconnectthepowertotheHVACsystem.
10.Theunitisnowoperationalanddoesnotneedtobepoweredo
unless cleaning or bulb replacement is necessary.
NEVER LOOK DIRECTLY AT OR TOUCH A UV BULB WHILE ILLUMINATED.
Maintaining Your UV Air Treatment System
Inordertokeepyourunitoperatingatmaximumeectiveness,itisrecommendedthatyoucleantheUV
bulb(s) every 3 months and replace the bulb(s) every year.
Bulb Cleaning and Replacement
1.DisconnectthepowertotheHVACsystem,unplugunit,andallowUVbulb(s)tocoolforatleast15
minutes before attempting to remove the unit.
2. Remove 4 sheet metal screws and slide the unit out of the duct work.
3a. To Clean:HoldtheunitsecurelyandwipetheUVbulb(s)withasoftclothdampenedwithglass
cleaner.Ifyoutouchtheglasswithyourhand,besuretowipeawayanyngerprintsordirtwithcloth.
Makesurethebulbiscleananddrybeforeinstallingunitbackintoduct.
3b. To Replace: Visitwww.OdorStop.comtopurchasenewUVbulbsifneeded.Useofanybulbnot
approvedfortheunitwillvoidthewarrantyandcouldcauseseriousinjuryordamage.Holdtheunit
securelyandpushthebulbreleasebuttontoremovetheUVbulb.Installthenewbulbintotheunit
by sliding the bulb in from the outside until the bulb snaps into place. If you touch the bulb with your
hand,besuretowipeawayanyngerprintsordirtwithasoftdampcloth.Makesurethebulb(s)is/
are clean and dry before installing the unit back into the duct.
4. Re-install the unit into the duct work and re-install the 4 sheet metal screws. Tighten screws evenly until
unitissecurelyinplace.DONOTOVERTIGHTENSCREWS.
5.ReconnectthepowertotheHVACsystemandplugtheunitbackintoa120voltgroundedpoweroutlet.
6.TurntheunitonandverifythattheLEDindicatorlight(s)locatedneartheon/oswitchareilluminated.
IfthegreenLEDlight(s)is/arenotilluminated,seethetroubleshootingsection.

Troubleshooting
TheOdorStopUVAirTreatmentSystemisequippedwithLEDindicatorlight(s)thatverifytheunitis
workingproperly.TheOS36has1LEDandtheOS72has2LEDs.
For OS72:theLEDlightclosesttotheon/oswitchindicatesthestatusoftheUVbulbfarthestfromthe
on/oswitch.
Note: TheLEDlight(s)willnotshutowhenthebulb(s)needreplacement.Theywillonlyshutoifthe
bulb breaks or burns out. The OS72 will operate with one properly functioning bulb. For maximum
eectiveness,bothbulbsshouldbeoperatingproperly.
LEDlightsindicatethefollowing:
• IftheLEDlight(s)is/aregreen,theUNITandBULB(s)arefunctioningproperly.
• IfoneorbothLEDlightsareblinking,theUNITisfaultyandmustbereplaced.
• IfoneorbothLEDlightsarenotilluminated,thefollowingarepossiblecauses:
•Thereisnopowertotheunit-turnonthepowersupplyorplugintheunit.
•Theon/oswitchisinthe“o”position-placeswitchin“on”position.
•Thebulb(s)is/arefaulty-replacebulb(s).
•Thefuseontheunitisfaulty-replacethefuse.
•TheLEDlighthasfailed-theunitmustbereplaced.

LIMITED WARRANTY
LIMITED WARRANTY: OdorStop,LLCwarrantstotheoriginalretailpurchaserofthisUVAirTreatmentSystem
(the “unit”) against any defect in materials and workmanship as follows: For two (2) years from the date of retail
purchase, OdorStop, LLC, at its option, will replace or repair the unit without charge to the customer. Any repair
or replacement of the unit will be warranted only for the balance of the original warranty period or ninety (90) days,
whicheverisgreater.Thefollowingwillvoidand/orarenotcoveredunderthislimitedwarranty:a)Damagecaused
byimproperuseorimproperinstallation.b)FusesandUVbulb(s).c)Disassemblingoftheunitforanyreason.d)
Cosmetic damage or any damage caused by misuse, improper maintenance, connection to improper voltage
supply,accidents,actsofGod,abuse,negligence,damagecausedduringshipping,modications,orattempted
repair by anyone other than OdorStop, LLC. e) Alteration or removal of factory-applied serial number. This limited
warranty is not transferable to any subsequent purchaser or owner of the unit.
TO OBTAIN WARRANTY SERVICE: The owner must return the unit in suitable packaging, postage prepaid, to
OdorStop, LLC International, 5139 Southwestern Blvd, Hamburg, NY 14075, and include (i) proof of retail purchase,
(ii) the date of the failure and (iii) a description of the failure.
The obligations of OdorStop, LLC herein are granted in lieu of all other warranties, expressed or implied, including
butnotlimitedtothewarrantiesofmerchantabilityoftnessforaparticularpurpose.Theremedyprovidedinthis
warranty is exclusive and is granted in lieu of all other remedies. Some states do not allow limitations on how long
an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.
InnoeventwillOdorStop,LLCInternationalbeliableforlossofuseoftheproduct,lossofprots,directdamages,
indirectdamages,consequentialdamages,and/orincidentaldamagesbyreasonofinjurytoanyperson,duetoany
defect or malfunction of unit or any part(s) thereof, or for any other reason. Some states do not allow the exclusion
or limitation of incidental or consequential damages so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.
Thiswarrantygivesyouspecic,legalrights,andyoumayalsohaveotherrights,whichvaryfromstatetostate.
