INTRODUCTION
This RS232 interface Kit is for use with the Ohaus Ranger®7000.

Note: RS232 cable is not included. If RS232 cable is needed from OHAUS, please
order 80500552.
INTERFACE INSTALLATION
Only one interface module can be installed in the terminal option slot at a given time.
Install the Interface module on the underside of the terminal as shown below.
Note: The appearance of your model may be different from the one shown.
1. Release the two screws, remove the red interface options cover, and unplug the black rubber
insert.

2. Install the Interface PCB. Push it through the pins and secure it with the 3 screws.
3. Connect an RS232 Cable (not supplied in this kit).
4. Place the cord in the groove (see step 2) and put the red interface option cover back on.
SETUP
A) The OHAUS Interface is preset to communicate using the following settings: 9600 baud, 8 bit,
no parity, no handshake. Determine the RS232 parameters required for the printer or computer
that is to be connected. See computer or printer documentation if assistance is required. If the
parameters do not match, it will be necessary to change either the scale’s settings, or the
computer / printer settings.
B) Upon installation of the interface, the scale will recognize the RS232 Interface and add relevant
items to the menu. Configure the scale to the desired RS232 and printing parameters; refer to
the scale’s Instruction Manual for assistance in using the menus.

CONNECTION
The RS232 Interface Kit cable terminates with a 3 pin Sub-D female connector.
Active pins: Pin 1 = Ground, Pin 2 = RXD, Pin 3 = TXD
The Interface connector will connect directly to a computer, an Ohaus printer and many other printers
Note: When the second RS232 interface has been installed, an icon will appear on the display:
OPERATION
RS232 OUTPUT
With the interface installed the terminal will operate in one of the following two ways:
Auto Print = off, Stable = on or off
Pressing PRINT will send the display data.
If Stable is set to On, the balance will wait for a stable reading before sending the stable data.
Auto Print = not off, Stable = on or off
The balance will automatically send data based on the settings in the Menu.
If Stable is set to On, only stable values will be sent.

INTRODUCCIÓ N
Este kit de la interfaz RS232 se utiliza con la Ranger®7000 de Ohaus.

2. Instale el PBC de la interfaz. Empú jelo contra las patillas y asegú relo con los 3 tornillos.
3. Conecte un cable RS232 (no incluido en este kit).
4. Coloque el cable en la ranura (consulte el paso 2) y vuelva a colocar la tapa roja de opciones de la
interfaz.
CONFIGURACIÓ N
A) La interfaz OHAUS está preestablecida para comunicar mediante las siguientes
configuraciones: 9600 baudios, 8 bits, sin paridad, sin protocolo de enlace. Determine los
pará metros necesarios para la impresora o el ordenador que se va a conectar. Si necesita
ayuda consulte la documentació n del ordenador o la impresora. Si no coinciden los pará metros,
será necesario cambiar los ajustes de la bá scula o los ajustes del ordenador o la impresora.
B) Despué s de la instalació n de la interfaz, la bá scula reconocerá la interfaz RS232 y añ adirá
elementos importantes en el menú . Configure la bá scula con los pará metros de RS232 y de
impresió n deseados, consulte el manual de instrucciones de la bá scula para obtener asistencia
en el uso de los menú s.

CONEXIÓ N
El cable del kit de la interfaz RS232 termina en un conector Sub-D hembra de 3 patillas.
Pines activos: Patilla1 = Toma a tierra, Patilla 2 = RXD, Patilla 3 = TXD
El conector de la interfaz se conectará directamente a un ordenador, una impresora Ohaus y a
muchas otras impresoras.
Nota: al instalar la segunda interfaz RS232, aparecerá un icono en la pantalla:
FUNCIONAMIENTO
SALIDA RS232
Con la interfaz instalada, el terminal funcionará de una de las siguientes dos maneras:
Auto Print = off (impresió n automá tica = desactivado), Stable = on u off (estable = activado o
desactivado)
Al pulsar PRINT (IMPRIMIR) se enviará n los datos en pantalla.
Si Stable (estable) se ajusta en On (activado), la balanza esperará una lectura estable antes de
enviar datos.
Auto Print = not off (impresió n automá tica = no desconectada), Stable = on u off (estable =
activado o desactivado)
La balanza enviará automá ticamente los datos segú n la configuració n del menú .
Si Stable (estable) se ajusta en On (activado), solo se enviará n valores estables.

Los datos enviados desde la interfaz se encuentran en formato ASCII terminado con un [CRLF]
(salto de línea o retorno de carro). El formato de salida es el siguiente:

INTRODUCTION
Ce kit d'interface RS232 est destiné à ê tre utilisé avec la Ranger®7000 d'Ohaus.

INSTALLATION DE L'INTERFACE
Un seul module d'interface peut ê tre installé à la fois dans le logement en option du
terminal.
Installer le module d'interface sous la balance comme indiqué ci-dessous.
Remarque : L'apparence de votre modè le peut ê tre diffé rente de celui pré senté .
1. Libé rer les deux vis, retirer le couvercle rouge des options d'interface et dé connecter le
caoutchouc noir.

2. Installation de la carte d'interface. Pousser celle-ci sur les broches et la maintenir avec les 3 vis.
3. Connecter un câ ble RS232 (non fourni dans ce kit).
4. Placer le cordon dans la rainure (voir l'é tape 2) et remettre en place la protection rouge des
options d'interface.
CONFIGURATION
A) L'interface OHAUS est pré ré glé e pour communiquer en utilisant les ré glages suivants : 9600
bauds, 8 bits, sans parité , sans é tablissement de liaison. Dé terminer les paramè tres RS232
né cessaires à l'imprimante ou à l'ordinateur à connecter. Se reporter à la documentation de
l'ordinateur ou de l'imprimante si une assistance s'avè re né cessaire. Si les paramè tres ne
correspondent pas, modifier les ré glages de la balance ou ceux de l'ordinateur/de l'imprimante.
B) Suite à l'installation de l'interface, la balance reconnaîtra l'interface RS232 et ajoutera les
é lé ments pertinents au menu. Configurer la balance sur les paramè tres retenus de l'imprimante
et RS232 ; se reporter au Manuel d’instructions de la balance pour toute aide portant sur
l'utilisation des menus.

CONNEXION
Le câ ble du kit d'interface RS232 se termine par un connecteur femelle 3 broches Sub-D.
Broches actives : Broche 1 = Masse, Broche 2 = RXD, Broche 3 = TXD
Le connecteur d'interface se connectera directement à un ordinateur, à une imprimante Ohaus et à
de nombreuses autres imprimantes.
Remarque : Aprè s avoir installé la deuxiè me interface RS232, une icô ne apparaîtra à l'affichage :

FONCTIONNEMENT
SORTIE RS232
Avec l'interface installé e, le terminal fonctionnera selon un des deux modes suivants :
Auto Print = arrê t, Stable = marche ou arrê t
En appuyant sur IMPRIMER, les donné es seront envoyé es vers l'affichage.
Si Stable est dé fini sur Activé , la balance attendra une lecture stable avant d'envoyer des
donné es stabilisé es.
Auto Print = pas sur arrê t, Stable = marche ou arrê t
La balance enverra automatiquement des donné es fondé es sur les ré glages du menu.
Si Stable est activé , seules les valeurs stabilisé es seront envoyé es.
Les donné es envoyé es depuis l'interface sont au format standard ASCII terminé par un [CRLF]
(retour chariot, retour à la ligne). Le format de sortie est le suivant:

EINLEITUNG
Das Set fü r die Schnittstelle RS-232 ist fü r die Verwendung mit der Waage Ranger®
7000 von Ohaus vorgesehen.

INSTALLATION DER SCHNITTSTELLE
Es kann nur jeweils ein Schnittstellenmodul im Steckplatz fü r Terminaloptionen
installiert werden.
Installieren Sie das Schnittstellenmodul auf der Unterseite des Terminals (siehe
Abbildung).
Hinweis: Ihr Modell kann von der Abbildung abweichen.
1. Lö sen Sie die beiden Schrauben, nehmen Sie die rote Abdeckung der Schnittstellenoptionen ab
und entfernen Sie den schwarzen Gummieinsatz.

2. Installieren Sie die Schnittstellen-Platine. Drü cken Sie diese auf die Stifte und sichern Sie sie mit
den 3 Schrauben.
3. Schließ en Sie ein RS-232-Kabel an (nicht in diesem Set enthalten).
4. Legen Sie das Kabel in die Aussparung (siehe Schritt 2) und bringen Sie die rote Abdeckung der
Schnittstellenoptionen wieder an.
KONFIGURATION
A) Die OHAUS-Schnittstelle kann standardmä ß ig mit folgenden Einstellungen kommunizieren:
9600 Baud, 8 Bit, keine Paritä t, kein Handshake. Finden Sie die RS-232-Parameter heraus, die
fü r den anzuschließ enden Drucker oder Computer benö tigt werden. Hilfe dazu finden Sie in den
Computer- oder Druckerunterlagen. Stimmen die Parameter nicht ü berein, mü ssen entweder
die Einstellungen der Waage oder die Einstellungen fü r den Computer/Drucker geä ndert
werden.
B) Nach Installation der Schnittstelle erkennt die Waage die Schnittstelle RS-232 und ergä nzt die
entsprechenden Einträ ge im Menü . Konfigurieren Sie die Waage mit den gewü nschten RS-232-
und Druckparametern; Informationen zu den einzelnen Menü s finden Sie in der
Bedienungsanleitung der Waage.
