Outline
(1) This product is anilluminator of a reflected fluorescence systemdesignedfor CK40.
(2) Target market and users
Target market: Tissueculture routine market representedby culture, growth, immunity and
pharmacy
(3) Applicable microscope: CK40
Features
(1) Switching between B excitation and G excitation is easybecausethe 2-cube IN-OUT
method is adopted.
(2) Two-wavelength observation and transmitted light observation canbe set simultaneously.
Using conditions
(1) This illuminator is designedfor B excitation and G excitation observation only. (This is
(2) becausethe lamp housing (U-LHSOHG) hasa built-in ultraviolet protective filter.)
Use a shutter for transmitted light observation.
(3) Be sure to mount the shieldcovers to the RFA basefrom both sidesof cube. This prevents
flashlight.
(4) Weak flashlight goesinto the visual field at the time of cube switching. However, this
(5) involves no hazardbecausethe lamp housing hasabuilt-in ultraviolet protective filter.
The standard performance is not guaranteedif it is combined with a lamp housing other
than U-LHSOHG.
(6) The standard performance is not guaranteedif anobjective other than the designatedtypes
is used. (Refer to Item 11 in “4. Specifications.“)

Part Item Standard Method
lluminator Cube working 250 t 50 g Insert the cube with no click pressure applied to it
force (2450 mN 2 490 n-8) and measurethe working force using a tension gauge.
Click removing 750 + 50 g Insert the cube with click pressure applied to it and
force of cube (7350 InN t 490 mN) measure the click removing force using a tension
gauge.
Click removing 500 + 100 g Insert the slider and measure the click removing force
force of slider (4900 mN 2 980 InN) using a tension gauge.
Optical axis 0.3 mm or less Combining the standard eyepiece (KNO048; with
adapter-l), a microscope stand (product), the
standard objective (KNOO15), and the cube (BH2-
UBF), read the displacement between the specimen
center and the visual field center in the right sleeve
using the reticle scale (1 graduation=O.l mm) of the
KNO048 (with adapter-l).
FS image It can be set at the center Combining the NCWHKlOX, a microscope stand
center of the visual field. (product), the cube (product: CX-DMB-2, CX-

(product), focus on a name card (coloured with a
fluorescent pen) used as a specimen and make sure
that the FS image center can be set at the center of
the visual field.

5. Adjusting the optical axis
5-l Perform the adjustment in the following procedure.
(1) Remove the AB3X20SA screws(“1) from the LH MOUNT 0 of CKLCO-RFA0. Instead
of the LH MOUNT 0, mount the BXKC002 (optical alignmentjig) and RFA unit on
CK40 MAIN BODY 0 with AB3X25SA.
(2)
Insert the CUBE (CX-DMB-2) 0 into the dovetail of CK40-RFA 0 and mount the
COVER ASS’Y L/R 0 (The cube should be inserted in such away that the characterson
the CX-DMB-2 are seenin the reverse). / a
