Thanks for your purchase of the Handy Heater Heatwave –
this personal space heater uses a parabolic design to
concentrate heat from a focused point and reflects off the
curved surface for instant, sun-like warmth without a noisy
fan. The Handy Heater Heatwave will quickly turn your
personal space into a warm comfort zone.
WARNINGS:
• Read all instructions before using this heater.
• This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot
surfaces. Always use the handle when moving this heater. Keep combustible
materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes, and curtains at
least 3 feet (0.9 m) from the front, sides and rear of the heater.
• Extreme caution is necessary when the heater is used near children
or someone who is disabled.
• Do not leave the heater unattended while it is on. Always unplug heater when not in use.
• Do not operate heater with a damaged cord or plug, or after the heater malfunctions.
If the heater is damaged in any manner, discard heater, or return it to an authorized
service facility for examination and/or repair.
• Do not use outdoors.
• This heater is not intended for use in bathrooms or laundry areas. Never locate
heater where it may fall into a bathtub or other water container.
• Do not run cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord with throw rugs, runners, or
similar coverings. Do not route cord under furniture or appliances. Arrange cord away
from traffic area and where it will not be tripped over.
• To disconnect heater, turn controls to off, then remove plug from outlet.
• Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as
this may cause an electric shock or fire, or damage the heater.
• To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intakes or exhaust in any manner. Do not
use on soft surfaces, like a bed, where openings may become blocked.
• A heater has hot and arcing sparking parts inside. Do not use it in areas where
gasoline, paint, or flammable liquids are used or stored.
• Use this heater only as described in this manual. Any use not recommended by the
manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.
• Always plug heaters directly into a wall outlet/receptacle. Never use with an extension
cord or relocatable power tap (outlet/power strip).
• This heater includes an audible alarm and a visual indicator light to warn that parts of
the heater are getting excessively hot. If the alarm sounds, and light flashes immediately
turn the heater off and inspect for any objects on or adjacent to the heater that may
causehigh temperatures. DO NOT OPERATE THE HEATER WITH THE ALARM
SOUNDING AND VISUAL INDICATOR LIGHT IS FLASHING.
HOW TO USE:
1. Place your Handy Heater Heatwave on a flat surface, and plug into an outlet.
FOR BEST USE:
Keep at least 3 feet away – heater will be most effective up to 10 feet away.
Ensure there are no objects between you and the heater.
2. Select your heat mode by turning the dial on the back of the unit – High or Low.
3. When done, turn dial to OFF and unplug unit until next use.
SAFETY:
Handy Heater Heatwave has a built-in Anti-Tip Safety Switch – if the heater
senses it is tipped over or not on a level surface, the alarm will sound, the
alarm light will blink, and unit will turn OFF.
CLEANING AND CARE:
Only clean your Handy Heater Heatwave when off, unplugged, and cooled
down. Use a soft cloth (dampened if necessary) to clean the exterior, do not
touch inside the heater or the heating element. Never use any sprays or water
directly on the unit. Never submerge or run under water.
When not using for an extended period of time, store in a cool, dry place.
