Draw smoothly from inertia reel,
guide over the shoulder and
engage in buckle
Lumbar support:
Pump on outboard side of seat
Operate pump to increasesupport.
To decrease support, release pressurewith
lap belt must fit snuglyacross the body.
To release belt, press red button on belt
buckle.

Dipped and main beam:

the first stop operates the headlamp flash.
Headlamp flash:
Pull lever towards steering wheel
Headlamp flash can also be operated when
turn signal lamps are on.
Turn signal lamps:
Lever in rest position
Upwards =Flightturn
Downwards =Left turn
When the steering wheel isturned back, the
leverautomaticallyreturnsto itsoriginal
position.Thiswillnothappenwhenmakinga
minor steering manoeuvre such as lane
changing.
Whenlanechanging,moveleverpartwayto
firststop.Whenreleased,leverwillspring
back.

To release the lock, move steering
wheel slightly and turn key to

Starter button:
Depress button with the ignitionon to start
the engine (transmissionin neutral).
Starter button isdeactivated once the engine
isrunning.

Manual transmission:
0= Neutral
1 to 5=1st to 5th gear
R =Reverse gear
When shiftingup from 4th to 5th gear,
pressuremust be exerted towards the rightat
the beginningof the shiftoperation.
When shiftingfrom 5th to 4th gear, do not
exert any force towards the left.
Reversegear:withvehiclestationary,,move:
shiftleverto the rightthree seconds after
declutchingand engage gear.
Ifthe gear does not engage: with lever in
neutral,release clutch pedal and depress
again, then repeat gear selection.

Before driving off check:

IAllwindows, mirrors,exterior lightingand
number plates free from dirt, snow and ice
and are operational.

Exhaust gases are poisonous
Exhaustgasescontaincarbonmonoxide,_
which isextremely poisonousbut has no
odour or colour.
Therefore, never inhaleexhaust gases, and
never runthe engine in agarage with the
garage doors closed.

Press starter button
Whentheenginestarts,usetheaccelerator
pedalto maintainanincreasedenginespeed
until normal combustion conditions are
obtained,then release the accelerator pedal.

Releasing the hand brake
Slightlyraise lever. Depress lock button.
Lower leverfully.
Themechanicalhandbrakeactsontherear
wheels. It engages automaticallywhen
applied.

Tachometer
Making use of the tachometer helps to save
fuel; it indicatesthe engine speed in
revolutionsper minute.
Warning zone on right:maximum permissible
engine speed exceeded, danger to engine.
Ifpossible,driveineachgearinthe low
enginespeedrange(betweenapprox.2000
and3000 rpm) and maintain an even vehicle
speed.

The top righthand comer ofthe LCD displays
the approx. fuel level in litres.

Never let tank become empty!

Odometer
Recordsthetotaldistancedriven.
Tripodometer
Pressingtheresetbutton locatedonthe
righthandsideofthesteeringcolumnshroud
for less than one second, will zero the
setting.Thisbuttonalsocontrolsthe
brightnessofthe instrumentillumination.

Coolant temperature gauge
The coolant temperature is displayed inthe
bottom right hand corner of the display as
soon as the coolant temperature reaches
70 °C.
Forphysicalreasons,the coolanttemperature
gaugeshowsthecoolanttemperatureonlyif
the coolant level is adequate.
Duringoperationthesystemispressurized.
The temperature may therefore riseto over
100 °C.
