1. INTRODUCTION
Audio interface with IP connection for COMPACT System.
Incorporates a module of 2 configurable analog audio inputs for music or announcements and a module of 2 output zones with DSP
and monitoring functions.
Main characteristics:
Dual Ethernet connection for installations with redundant
network systems. The connection is constantly monitored
and switches automatically when required.
It is equipped with two power supplies for redundant
installations (primary at 100-240Vac 50/60 Hz and
secondary at 24 VDC).
Two analog audio inputs configurable such as music input
or announcements.
Two zone outputs Incorporates DSP and monitoring
functions.
DSP functions:
Controls for volume controls, bass and treble or 10-band
graphic equalizer (30Hz / 60Hz / 125Hz / 250Hz / 500Hz /
1KHz / 2KHz / 4KHz / 8KHz / 16KHz) controlled by means
the Call Point software
Monitoring functions:
Monitoring of the speaker line: To accomplish this the
card injects different frequencies in the speaker line; it
then collects and analyses these frequencies to
determine the condition of the line (line open, short-
circuit, low impedance, high impedance or line in good
condition).
Monitoring of the condition of the amplifier by
analysing the audio signal to detect if the power stage has
entered into protection mode or is turned off and by
detecting the 24 VDC it receives from the amplifier.
Front USB input for music.
CAN bus for communicating with the peripherals (NS-
CAN, MD-30C, ME-200C).
Reception of digital audio via an IP connection (4
simultaneous channels).
Reception and sending of control data via an IP
connection.
Monitoring of the operation of the equipment using Call
Point software and/or basic TELNET or SSH (Secure Shell)
functions.
Configuration of the IP address in Flash memory via
software.
Constant notification (IP) of the status of the equipment
via a Heart Beat signal.
Pre-recorded messages residing in the equipment that
can be remotely updated using the Call Point software via
IP located in the internal Micro SD memory (16 GB).
Monitoring functions:
-of the speaker lines (short-circuit and open line).
-of the amplifiers.
-of the primary and secondary power supplies.
-of the input contacts.
-of the pre-recorded messages.
Communication with external systems:
-VoIP: receiving of direct calls from any VoIP digital
telephone that uses standard SIP protocols.
Incorporates zone selection by sending DTMF tones.
Provides the possibility of protecting the access with a
password.
-Direct integration (XML, API/DLL).

2. FRONT VIEW
(1) GENERAL FAULT indicator light.
Yellow LED system alarm indicator.
(2) SYSTEM FAULT indicator light.
Yellow LED internal equipment error indicator.
(3) EMERGENCY indicator light.
Red LED emergency indicator. Remains illuminated while
the system is in Emergency Mode.
(4) POWER indicator.
Indicates that the unit is receiving power.
(5) Buzzer.
The IF-722ETH incorporates a buzzer that generates an
acoustic signal when an alarm is received.
(6) Internal jumper for deactivating the acoustic alarm in
SYSTEM FAULT errors.
(7) CONSOLE connector.
Mini USB connector Allows monitoring the system. Only
specialised personnel.
(8) Front USB for inputting music.
3. REAR VIEW
100-240V AC 50/60 Hz Power supply input. Male socket1)
CEE22 for connection to the mains supply by means of
the cable supplied together with the IF-722ETH.
Mains fuse (3.15A). There is also a spare fuse in the same2)
box.
ON/OFF Switch. Switch for turning on the equipment. If3)
the IF-722ETH is operating by secondary power supply
(24VDC input), this switch has no effect.

Output relay used to indicate a system failure.
If the COM contact is linked to the NO contact, it
indicates that there are no faults or alarms in the
system. If on the other hand, COM is linked to NC, it
indicates that the equipment is switched off or that
alarms were detected (figure 4).

Data communication bus between the IF-722ETH and
the system peripherals (MD-30C, ME-200C, NS-CAN).
OUTPUT CT Contacts7)
Incorporates three output contacts configured as dry
contacts. Each contact has two terminals (A and B).
The functionality and stand-by state (NC/NO) are
configured through the Call Point software. They may be
configured as general purpose contacts or in the
evacuation system as fault notification contacts,
Emergency Mode indicator activated...

Incorporates three input contacts.
The functionality and stand-by state (NC/NO) are
configured through the Call Point software. They may be
configured as general purpose contacts or in the
evacuation system as emergency mode activation
contacts, evacuation message activated...
The detection time of the activation pulse of the input
contacts is configurable through the Call Point software
(0-50-100-200-300-400-500-1000-1500-2000
milliseconds).
If you wish, the system may monitor these contacts
(short-circuit or open line detection).
ETH B Connector9)
Is used in a redundant network as a secondary
connection to the IP network.
ETH A Connector10)
Is used to connect the unit to the IP network.
LINK/ACTIVITY indicator (green LED):11)
When illuminated it indicates a network connection.
When flashing it indicates that data is being sent or
received.
SPEED indicator (yellow LED):12)
Speed of the network. If the LED is lit, indicates a speed
of 100 Mbps. If unlit, indicates a network speed of 10
Mbps (it is highly recommended to use a transmission
speed of 100 Mbps).

Pin 1: AUDIO H (HOT) signal.

Pin 3: ACK (Acknowledge) contact. This output contact allows synchronisa-
tion with external microphone desks (MD family).

3.2.Audio inputs module
It has 2 independent audio inputs through RJ45 connectors.
Through the Call Point software each input may be configured as a music input or as a paging input. The inputs configured as a
paging incorporate a talk priority usage.
The sensitivity of the input may be modified via the software Call Point configuration: AUX H (0 dB) or AUX L (-20 dB). Also, each
input has a potentiometer with fine adjust of the sensitivity.
When ordered, IF-722ETH may be supplied with inputs balanced using a transformer. This option also allows providing power to
external paging desk using a Phantom power supply (24 VDC, 100 mA).

3.3.Audio outputs module
Channel “A”FAIL Contact. NO (Normally Open) output contact. Its activation is associated with1)
the surveillance functions of the “A”channel. Use the software P.A. Manager to configure in
which cases the contact is activated (by detecting errors loudspeaker line high or low
impedance, short circuit, open line or error amplifier...).
FAIL contact is an open collector output as shown in the diagram of figure 8.

and the connection to the earth of the equipment is
