1. INTRODUCTION
The ME-200B is designedto bemounted on the
COMPACT audio matrix.
Is used bypersonnel in charge of evacuating a
bui lding to activate or deactivate the emergency
mode, initiate or stop the pre-re corded alert and
evacuation messagesand for broadcasting live
voice messages during an emergency.
Includesa hand-held microphone with a buil t-in
push-button. The system constantly monitors
the status of the microphone capsule.
When thesystemis notin EmergencyMode, the
ME-200B may be used to make live voice
announcements in local zones, using the front
controls on the audio matrix to s el ect the
destination of the messages.
2. COMPONENTS
1) Microphone.
2) Microphone TALK push-button. Keep the
button pressed to talk.
3) Monitor speaker. Allows monitoring the
channels of the audio matrix.
4) Microphone connection (see figure 3).
5) Audio level indicator. Shows the audio l e vel
of the mi crophone and of the audio channels
when they are being monitored.
6) EMERGENCY push-button. EmergencyMode
push-button. The push-button remains lit
while the system is in EmergencyMode.
7) EVACUATION push-button. Activates the
evacuation message. Operatesonly when the
sys tem i s in Emergency Mode. Incorporates a
push-button ON indicator light.
8) WARNING push-button. Activates the
warningmessage.Operates only when the
sys tem i s in Emergency Mode. Incorporates a
push-button ON indicator light.
9) RESET push-button. The Emergency Mode is
turned off.
10) MICROPHONE indicator. It illuminateswhen
the button(2) on the microphone is pressed
to indicate that you can begin talking.
11) Microphone volume.

3. OPERATIONS IN NORMAL MODE
3.1.Sending a live voice announcement
When thesystemis notin EmergencyMode, the hand-held microphone of the ME-200B maybe used to make live voice
announcements in local zones, usingthe front controls on the audio matrix to select the destination of the messages.
1. Using the navigation keys / select the
zones/groups menu ( ) and press the
navigation keyto access this menu.
2. Using the navigation keys /select the
destinationzone of the message and press
the OK button.
Press the OK button again. The selected
zones are displayed preceded by the i con .
Repeat this process with all the zones you
want to sel ect
To cancel a selection, place the cursor over
the selected zone and press OK twice.
3. Once the desiredzones are selected, press
and hold themicrophone button. You can
begin speaking when the MICROPHONE
indicator light illuminates.
4. At the end of the message, release the
microphone pushbutton.

3.2.Monitoring a channel
When thesystemis notin EmergencyMode, you can monitortheaudiomatrixchannelsvia theME-200B speaker. To a ccomplish
thi s :
1. Using the navigation keys / s elect the
settings menu ( ) andpress the navigation
ke y to access this menu.
2. Using the navigation keys /select
CHANNEL MONITOR and press OK.
3. Usingthenavigation keys /select the
channelyou wishto monitor(from channel 1
to 16).
3.3.Changing the monitoring volume
From the channel monitoring screen (see section 3.2. Monitoring a channel)press the navigation keyto setthedesired volume
in 25% increments.

4. OPERATIONS IN EMERGENCY MODE
4.1.Entering the EmergencyMode
1. Press theEMERGENCY button The EMERGENCY button illuminates to indicate that the system is in EMERGENCY MODE.
4.2.Activating a warning message
1. Press theWARNING button (the system must be i n Emergency Mode). The WARNING button indicator light illuminates and the
warning message begins to play.
2. Press the RESET button to stop the message. The system exits the EmergencyMode.
If an EVACUATION message is played while the WARNING message is playing, the WARNING message will stop.
If a live voice message is sent while the WARNING message is playing, the WARNING message stops playingwhile the live voice
announcement is being broadcast.Whenthe livevoice message ends, the WARNING message will automaticallyresume
playing.
4.3.Activating an evacuation message
1. Press theEVACUATION button (the systemmust be in emergency mode). The EVACUATION button indicator light illuminates
and the evacuation message begins to play.
2. Press the RESET button to stop the message. The system exits the EmergencyMode.
The EVACUATION message ta kes priority over the WARNING message: the activation of the evacua tion message stops the
WARNING message.
If a live voice message is sent while the EVACUATION message is playing, the EVACUATION message stops playingwhilethe live
voice announcementisbeingbroadcast.Whenthelivevoicemessage ends, the EVACUATION message will automatically
resume playing.
4.4.Sending a live voice message in Emergency Mode
1. Press and hold the button on the microphone (the system must be in emergency mode).
2. You can begin speaking when the MICROPHONE indicator light illuminates.
3. To finish the broadcast, release the microphone button.

WARNING message.
4.5.Exiting the Emergency Mode
Press theRESET key. The EMERGENCY button light goesout to indicate that the desktop pagings ystem is no longer in Emergency
Mode.
Entering the EMERGENCY MODE entails that all the basicfunctions of the system will be disabled(general purpose messages
and music programmes). On the otherhand, the indicator lights illuminate and the systemcontacts configured as EMERGENCY
MODE indicators are made. For example, the s creens of the DC-700ETHdesktopandthe matrixdisplay the emergency menu
and theEMERGENCYpush-button illuminates;the EMERGENCY indicatorlight on the slave matrix illuminates and the output
contacts configured as Emergency Mode Notification of the uni ts are made...)
All the emergencymessages (live voice messagesas well as pre-recorded WARNING and EVACUATION messages) will be
broadcast to the EMERGENCY GROUP. The EMERGENCY GROUP must have been previously configured via the Call Point
software.
The WARNING and EVACUATION messages are assigned and configured via the Call Point software.
In EMERGENCYMODE,live voice announcements takepriorityover an EVACUATION message and in turn, an EVACUATION
message takes priorityover a WARNING message.
