4. OPERATIONS IN EMERGENCY MODE
4.1.Entering the EmergencyMode
1. Press theEMERGENCY button The EMERGENCY button illuminates to indicate that the system is in EMERGENCY MODE.
4.2.Activating a warning message
1. Press theWARNING button (the system must be i n Emergency Mode). The WARNING button indicator light illuminates and the
warning message begins to play.
2. Press the RESET button to stop the message. The system exits the EmergencyMode.
If an EVACUATION message is played while the WARNING message is playing, the WARNING message will stop.
If a live voice message is sent while the WARNING message is playing, the WARNING message stops playingwhile the live voice
announcement is being broadcast.Whenthe livevoice message ends, the WARNING message will automaticallyresume
playing.
4.3.Activating an evacuation message
1. Press theEVACUATION button (the systemmust be in emergency mode). The EVACUATION button indicator light illuminates
and the evacuation message begins to play.
2. Press the RESET button to stop the message. The system exits the EmergencyMode.
The EVACUATION message ta kes priority over the WARNING message: the activation of the evacua tion message stops the
WARNING message.
If a live voice message is sent while the EVACUATION message is playing, the EVACUATION message stops playingwhilethe live
voice announcementisbeingbroadcast.Whenthelivevoicemessage ends, the EVACUATION message will automatically
resume playing.
4.4.Sending a live voice message in Emergency Mode
1. Press and hold the button on the microphone (the system must be in emergency mode).
2. You can begin speaking when the MICROPHONE indicator light illuminates.
3. To finish the broadcast, release the microphone button.

4.5.Exiting the Emergency Mode
Press theRESET key. The EMERGENCY button light goesout to indicate that the desktop pagings ystem is no longer in Emergency
Mode.
Entering the EMERGENCY MODE entails that all the basicfunctions of the system will be disabled(general purpose messages
and music programmes). On the otherhand, the indicator lights illuminate and the systemcontacts configured as EMERGENCY
MODE indicators are made. For example, the s creens of the DC-700ETHdesktopandthe matrixdisplay the emergency menu
and theEMERGENCYpush-button illuminates;the EMERGENCY indicatorlight on the slave matrix illuminates and the output
contacts configured as Emergency Mode Notification of the uni ts are made...)
All the emergencymessages (live voice messagesas well as pre-recorded WARNING and EVACUATION messages) will be
broadcast to the EMERGENCY GROUP. The EMERGENCY GROUP must have been previously configured via the Call Point
software.
The WARNING and EVACUATION messages are assigned and configured via the Call Point software.
In EMERGENCYMODE,live voice announcements takepriorityover an EVACUATION message and in turn, an EVACUATION
message takes priorityover a WARNING message.
