Tightening the Quick
Release Plate
When securing the quick release plate onto the top of the tri-
pod, you should tighten down the “Quick Release Plate Lock
Lever (Figure 2B in the tripod manual). In case the locking
lever doesn’t fully clamp down on the quick release plate (leav-
ing the plate loose), there is an adjustment to engage the lock
lever more tightly:
1. Grab the lock lever with your ngers and gently pull
straight out, away from the tripod head. (Figure A and
B). The lever knob is spring loaded and pulls away from
the underlying bolt head.
2. While the lever knob is being pulled outwards, rotate it
slightly clockwise until it re-seats itself again over the bolt
head.
3. The level should now provide more pressure against
the quick release plate. You may have to pull the knob
away and rotate again until you nd the right amount of
pressure against the plate to hold it securely.

tive, provided it is returned postage paid. Proof of purchase (such as a copy of the origi-
nal receipt) is required. This warranty is only valid in the country of purchase.
This warranty does not apply if, in Orion’s judgment, the instrument has been abused,
mishandled, or modied, nor does it apply to normal wear and tear. This warranty gives
you specic legal rights. It is not intended to remove or restrict your other legal rights
under applicable local consumer law; your state or national statutory consumer rights
governing the sale of consumer goods remain fully applicable.
