THE SYSTEM
OSKA Series3 system is a replacement
system which is designed to be placed
directly onto the support surface of a
nursing bed. It is designed to be used
for nursing care at home or in a nursing
facility environment.
Application in regular bed types is
possible, however, preference is given to
a patient prole nursing bed.
The system consists of a control unit
featuring a membrane pump and a bed
overlay with 20 air cells arranged in a
transverse manner. The entire cell unit is
equipped with a bi-elastic PU protection
cover.
RECOMMENDATIONS
OSKA Series3 alternating pressure
system is recommended to be used
for pressure ulcers up to and including
category 4 (very high risk).
CAPACITY
OSKA Series3 alternating pressure
system is recommended for patient
weight up to 180kg. Heavier patients
are better accommodated with a more
appropriate OSKA pressure system.
ABOUT YOUR MATTRESS SYSTEM SET-UP
1. Place pump on horizontal surface or
hang by means of the hook.
2. Open mattress on the bed, secure it
with the end aps or straps. Air tubes
must be at foot end of bed.
3. Connect air feed tubes to air outlet
on the mattress and pump (see
1), ensuring that the tubes are not
kinked or twisted. Allow space for
bed rails to drop freely.
4. Turn on the power. After a beep
sound, the pump will begin the
operation.
5. The pump will enter static mode
initially when the power is turned
on. The cycle time is set at 1st LED,
10 mins and the pressure level is set
at 3rd LED (see 2). First will inate
the mattress to 18±2mm Hg and then
enter alternate mode.
6. For switching to static mode, press
the Alternate/Static switching button
and its indicator will come on (see 3).
Press the button again to switchback
to alternate mode.

OPERATION
1. During normal operation, the pump
will monitor pressure changes.
If the pressure is below a user-
dened pressure level, the pump
will automatically start to inate the
mattress. The pump will stop when
the user-dened pressure level is
reached.
2. If the pressure is consistently low,
the audible alarm will beep and
its indicator will come on to bring
attention to a low pressure condition.
3. If there should be obvious leakage,
for example caused by loose
connection of tubes, the audible/
visible alarm will be activated.
4. Press the Alarm Reset button to
mute alarm: its indicator will ash
5. Press the Alarm Reset button again
to have the audible alarm and its
indicator on.
6. For nursing and caring convenience,
press the Auto Firm button to
automatically inate the mattresses
to the maximum level (above 180kg)
for about 30 minutes. The pressure
will return to a previously user
dened level after 30 minutes.
7. In the case of a poor connection with
tubing, or any other air leakage from
the mattress, low pressure conditions
will occur and the audible/ visual
alarm will be activated.
