CORD SAFETY
• The length of cord used on this appliance was selected to reduce tangling or tripping
hazards.
• If a longer cord is necessary, an approved extension cord may be used. The electrical
rating of the extension cord must be equal to or greater than the electrical rating of
the air cleaner (see rating label marked on product).
• Care must be taken to arrange the extension cord so that it will not drape over the
countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or accidentally tripped over.
GET TO KNOW YOUR AIR PURIFIER
Your HEPA-Type air purier removes up to 99% of airborne allergens as small as 2
microns, including ragweed pollen, grass pollen, tree pollen, household dust, dust mite
debris, mould spores, pet dander and smoke from the air passing through the lter.
IONISER
This appliance has an optional ioniser feature which, when turned on, releases negative
ions into outgoing ltered air to help the air purication process.
What Are Ions?
Ions are tiny particles that carry a positive or negative charge. They exist naturally around
us: in the air, water, and ground. Both positive and negative ions are colorless, odorless,
and completely harmless.
How Does The Ioniser Work?
Negative ions help air purication by attaching themselves to very small airborne particles
in the room. These particles take on a negative charge and may join with positively
charged particles such as dust, pollen, smoke, and pet dander to form larger particles.
These larger particles are then more easily captured by the lter system.
Important Notes:
Your ioniser may produce an occasional popping or cracking sound. This is normal and
occurs when a small buildup of ions is discharged.
After extended use, you may notice dust around the grills or front panel. This is caused
by negative ions exiting the air outlet, evidence of the ioniser’s air cleaning effectiveness.
You can remove the dust with a soft brush or clean, damp cloth.
Larger particles may be attracted to positively charged surfaces throughout the home,
like walls or oors.
• This may occur more frequently when the lter is nearing the end of its useful product
life and unable to capture as many charged particles.
• Excessive amounts of pet dander, dust, or smoke may decrease the life expectancy
of the lter and interfere with the ionisation process. To help prevent particles from
attracting to surfaces throughout your home:
• You may want to run the ioniser less often.
• Check the condition of the lter more frequently.
CAUTION: The ioniser in this appliance produces less ozone than the UL* established
limits of 50ppb.
HEPA-TYPE FILTER
HEPA (High Efciency Particulate Air) lters are designed to remove up to 99% of airborne
pollutants at 2 microns or larger, from the air that passes through them. These include tobacco
smoke, household dust, pet dander and pollen.

turned on, the unit remembers the
last speed selected and will turn
on at that speed, and the power
light will illuminate letting you
know the power is on.
3. You can then select the desired
speed setting. This air cleaner
has three speed set tings. You
can select from HIGH ( ),
MEDIUM ( ), or LOW ( ) by
pushing the desired operating
speed button on the control panel
or the remote control.
4. To release negative ions into the
ltered air, press the ioniser but-
ton ( ) to either on the control
panel or the remote control and
the light will illuminate.
5. The ioniser will not work unless
the unit is running.

setting. For quieter operation or use in a bedroom, select the Low ( ) setting. When
high levels of air pollution are present, select the HI ( ) setting to quickly circulate
clean ltered air.
REMOTE CONTROL
Your remote control requires (2) AAA batteries (included) for operation. To install the
batteries, simply depress and slide the back of the remote control with your thumb on the
arrow indentation. Remove batteries before discarding the remote control.
• DO NOT mix old and new batteries.
• DO NOT mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
1. Turn the air purier off and unplug it before cleaning.
2. The outside of the air purier can be cleaned with a soft, clean dampened cloth.
3. The rear air inlet grill can be removed and washed in warm soapy water (not
dishwasher safe). Dry before replacing in the unit.
4. The ltered air outlet can be cleaned of dust with a small, soft brush.
5. If you wish to clean the inside of the air purier, please only use a dry, soft cloth to
wipe it down.
REPLACING THE HEPA-TYPE FILTER
Filter Indicator Light ( ) - Your air purier has an indicator light that illuminates when it is
time to replace the HEPA-type lters.
IMPORTANT:
• NOTE: DO NOT attempt to wash and re-use the lter.
• If the lters are enclosed in plastic bags, remove before use.
NOTE: Every few weeks, check the condition of lters. Filter life will vary, depending on
air quality and usage. On average, lters need replacement every 4-6 months.
To replace your filter:
1. Turn off and unplug the air purier.
2. Open the air inlet grill and examine the foam prelter. Remove any dust or lint, and
wash in warm soapy water. Rinse, drip dry, and place back into
grill inlet.
3. Remove HEPA-Type lter from the unit by pulling it gently to-
wards you and discard it. DO NOT attempt to clean the old lter.
4. Install the new lter (OAPF30-049 or BAPF30-IN) into the unit.
This model utilizes a hang tab and lter clips to insure that the
lter is properly in place. Before replacing the lter, make sure
that the hang tab is securely in place. The clip can only be
attached to the tabs on the lter one way. The lter clip should
easily slide onto the lter hang tab with only a small amount of
pressure. DO NOT use force while attaching the clip to the lter.
