INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE OF THE
“OHV-CC Series” Portable Unit Heater
WARNING
When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire,
electrical shock and injury to persons, including the following:
To disconnect heater, turn thermostat to off, then remove
plug from outlet.
Connect to properly grounded outlet only.
Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventila-
tion or exhaust opening as this may cause an electrical
shock or fire, or damage the heater.
To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intakes or
exhaust in any manner. Do not use on soft surfaces, like a
bed, where openings may become blocked.
This heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside.
Do not use it in areas where gasoline, paint or flammable
liquids are used or stored.
Use this heater only as described in this manual. Any other
use not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire,
electrical shock, or injury to persons.
Avoid the use of extension cord because the extension cord
may overheat and cause a risk of fire. However, if you have
to use an extension cord, the cord shall be No. 8 AWG
minimum size and rated for not less than 30 amps.
Do not operate heater without stand.
This heater is not approved for use in corrosive
atmospheres such as marine, green house or chemical
storage areas.
Read all instructions before using this heater.
This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let
bare skin touch hot surfaces. Use handles when moving
this heater. Keep combustible materials, such as furniture,
pillows, bedding, papers, clothes, and curtains
at least 5 feet (1524 mm) from the front of the heater and
keep them away from the sides and rear.
Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used by or
near children or invalids and whenever the heater is left
operating and unattended.
Always unplug heater when not in use.
Do not operate any heater with a damaged cord or plug or
after the heater malfunctions, has been dropped or damaged
in any manner. Return heater to authorized service facility
for examination, electrical or mechanical adjustment, or
repair.
Do not use outdoors.
This heater is not intended for use in bathrooms, laundry
areas and similar indoor locations. Never locate heater
where it may fall into a bathtub or other water container.
Do not run cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord with
throw rugs, runners, or similar coverings. Arrange cord
away from traffic area and where it will not be tripped over.
CAUTION
To prevent possible overheating - or damage due
to overheating - keep at least 5 feet (1524 mm)
clearance in front of heater.
See Figures 1 and 2 for minimum mounting clearances.
This heater is for use on 208 or 240 volts. The cord has a
plug as shown in Figure 3. No adapter is available for this
blade configuration, and none should be used. The type of
outlet is a 208 / 240 volt grounding outlet. When properly
installed, it provides a ground connection through the cord
to the heater to protect the operator from electrical shock.
Wall / Ceiling structures and anchoring provisions must be
of sufficient strength to support the combined weight of the
heater and mounting bracket 33 lbs (15 kg).
SERVICE
The heater motor is permanently lubricated.
Occasional cleaning of the inlet grille will prevent
clogging. Use a vacuum with a brush attachment.
WARRANTY
OUELLET CANADA INC. warrants the electric heating
element of the OHV-CC series for a one (1) year period;
and their component parts against defects in material and
workmanship for a one (1) year period following the date
of purchase, under normal use and service, when proof
of purchase of such is provided to the manufacturer. The
obligation of Ouellet Canada Inc., under the terms of this
warranty, will be to supply a new unit and this omits the
manufacturer to bear the installation costs or other secondary
charges linked to replacing the unit or the component
part(s).

HEATER OPERATION
1. Plug in heater.
2. Use heat “HIGH / LOW” switch
to select heat desired.
3. Rotate thermostat knob full clockwise.
Indicator light on.
4. Use fan “AUTO / ON” switch to select fan operation.
“AUTO” – Fan controlled by thermostat.
“ON” – Continuous fan operation.
TO TURN HEATER OFF
Rotate thermostat knob full counter- clockwise.
FAN ONLY OPERATION (No heat)
1. Rotate thermostat knob full counter- clockwise.
Indicator light off.
2. Place fan “AUTO / ON” switch in “ON” position.
Fan runs continuously, heat remains off.

IMPORTANT
This heater is equipped with a Factory Installed
Manual Reset Limit: Located on the back of the heater,
the manual reset limit will automatically turn the heater off
if an overheat condition exists. To reset – Allow the heater
to cool - Then, push in the button until it snaps. The heater
should then operate normally.
LOCATE HEATERS PROPERLY
FLOOR MOUNTING:
Place heater on floor, plug into proper wall outlet and adjust
heater to direct airflow.
WALL MOUNTING:
Heaters may be mounted for either horizontal or vertical air
discharge.
Maximum mounting height:
Vertical air flow – 15 feet (4.57 m)
Horizontal air flow – 8 feet (2.44 m)
NOTE - Wall must be able to support the weight
of the heater 33 lbs (15 kg).

Take heater out of the mounting stand.
Attach the stand to the wall structural members with four
(4) ¼ in. dia. X 1 ½ in. long lag bolts
(Not provided).
Put heater back into stand (put rubber washers between
stand and heater brackets) and start two (2) knobs.
Plug into proper wall outlet, adjust to direct airflow and
tighten two (2) knobs.
CEILING MOUNTING:
Heaters may be mounted for either horizontal
or vertical air discharge.
Maximum mounting height:
Vertical air flow – 15 feet (4.57 m)
Horizontal air flow – 8 feet (2.44 m)
NOTE - Ceiling must be able to support the weight
of the heater 33 lbs (15 kg).

DO NOT USE KEYHOLE SLOTS – USE CIRCULAR
HOLES ONLY.

Plug into proper wall outlet, adjust to direct airflow
and tighten two (2) knobs.
