Operation
1. Once the system is fully assembled, ll a collection pail
with water from any tap, clear, or fresh moving water
source. Do not use hot, salt, or brackish water.
2. Pour the water through the Net Filter and into the Source
Water Container.
3. Wait. The water will be ready to drink as soon as it enters
the Purified Water Container.
New or stored systems may take six hours or longer to purify
the first batch of water depending on the water quality.
Thereafter, it will purify roughly one gallon per hour.
For the fastest ltering, continually keep the Source Water
Container filled with water.
Do not use a filter that is cracked or broken.
To ensure your water is safe, do not use a lter for longer than the capacity stated in this manual.

Long-Term Storage
For long-term storage of an unused system,
keep in a cool, dry location out of direct sunlight.
Long-Term Storage After Use
To store the system for more than a week after
active use, flush the system with at least
two gallons of clear water. Allow the Sleeve
Filter and Purifying Filter to dry completely.
Discard and replace the Rening Filter. Prior
to using after the storage period, clean the
Spigot and interior of the Purified Water
Container and flush the system with at least
two gallons of clear water.
Short-Term Storage After Use
To store the system for brief periods of less
than seven days after active use, flush the
system with at least two gallons of clear
water. Before resuming use, flush the system
once more after the storage period.
Storage
Operating conditions impact how often a system needs
to be cleaned. If you are using the system in a clean
seing, the system should be cleaned at least once a
week. Under more rugged conditions, clean your system
at least twice a week and discard any unused, puried
water stored for 72 hours or longer. Be sure to track your
usage to ensure proper filter replacement.
Cleaning Instructions
1.Using filtered water, rinse any dirt from inside the
Source Water Container.
2.With clear water, rinse the Net Filter, Sleeve Filter,
and Purifying Filter to remove debris.
3. Use a clean cloth dampened with a chlorine solution
to wipe the inside of the containers and Spigot. Use
½ teaspoon of household bleach (5.5 - 6% Chlorine
Hypochlorite) per 5 gallons of water.
4. Reassemble the system for operation.
5.Wipe away dirt or debris from the outside surface
and rinse with clean water.
NOTE:
*Except for the four lters, all surfaces can beexposed to hot, soapy water.

Sleeve Filter
The Sleeve Filter is reusable. If rinsing does
not improve flow rate, replace.
Purifying Filter
Replace the Purifying Filter after six months
of use or if you experience a noticeable
reduction in flow rate that is unable to be
improved by the following steps:
1. Remove the Purifying Filter from the
Filter Connector.
2. Hold the lter horizontally by its endcaps
and gently tap it on a hard surface. Rotate
and repeat several times to loosen larger
particles trapped in the lter’s surface.

Situation Solution
Black dust in water Harmless, loose particles of activated carbon appear as black dust in the Rening Filter. These particles can
be removed by flushing water through the lter.
Flakes in cold water Higher concentrations of harmless natural minerals in the water will solidify into flakes that appear when
puried water freezes and later melts. The same minerals can also show up as deposits on pots when the
water is boiled. Natural minerals are benecial, and their presence does not pose a safety risk.
Slow flow rate This is a sign that the Purifying Filter or Rening Filter may be congested. First, check the Purifying Filter
using the following steps:
1. Remove the Source Water Container and Puried Water Lid with lters aached.
2. Remove the Purifying Filter from the Filter Connector.
3. Rinse and clean the Purifying Filter following the steps located on page 8.
4. Reinstall and run two gallons of water through the system.
5. If there is lile to no water flow, replace the Purifying Filter.
6. Reinstall the Refining Filter and check the flow rate.
7. If the flow rate is still too slow, replace the Rening Filter.
Unusual taste Puried water with an unusual taste indicates the Rening Filter is near expiration and must be replaced.
