WARNING
ON PLACEMENT
» Do not use the unit in places which are extremely hot, cold, dusty, or humid.
» Place the unit on a flat and even surface.
» Do not restrict the air flow of the unit by placing it in a place with poor air flow, by covering it with a cloth, or by placing it on a carpet.

» Before use, check that the rated voltage of your unit matches your local voltage.
ON CONDENSATION
» Let it stand for 1 to 2 hours before turning the power on, or gradually heat the room up and dry the unit before use.

ATTENTION : To reduce the risk of

There are no user serviceable parts
inside the unit. Refer all servicing to
qualified personnel.

In case of malfuncon due to electrostac discharge, the apparatus has to be reset by disconnecng it from mains supply.

Push the funcon switch j to the le to turn on the radio.
Then press the band switch to le or right to select
between AM and FM as you desired. Now adjust the Radio
tuning control r and look at the band window 8where the
red dial pointer is switching between the frequencies. Take
the frequency you like and enjoy listening to the radio.
During the AM band receiving, please adjust the unit
direcon to get perfect receiving result and during the FM
band receiving, please draw out FM antenna 1and adjust
the antenna direcon to get the perfect receiving result.

LISTENING TO THE RADIO
The VOLUME control 7 may be adjusted to the le (MIN),
it will reduce the volume. If adjusted to the right (MAX), it
will level up the volume.
ADJUSTING THE SOUND
You can use the earphone to listen to the program played
by the apparatus and it is only needed to insert the
earphone to the earphone jack 2
At this me connected to the jack, the speaker inside the
apparatus will be automacally disconnected.

EARPHONE CONNECTION
TURN ON / OFF THE SYSTEM
USING BATTERIES
Disconnect the AC power cord from the AC socket hof the
unit. Baery power is cut automacally by the cord while it
is connected. Open the baery compartment backward g
and insert 8 pieces (C/ UM-2 baeries) baeries to the
direcon shown by the diagram inside the compartment.
Now close the compartment. Replace the baeries when all
the broadcast sounds change into noise, the sound is
diminishing and starng to be with distoron, the magnec
tape is even moonless or the CD is incapable to read a disc.
NOTE:
Do not mix the baeries of different types, or use the old
baery and the new baery together. Never charge or heat
or break the baery. When taking out of the baery when it
is exhausted, if it is found out that the baery is with
leakage, the baery should be taken out of the compart-
ment and the leaked liquid should be thoroughly wiped out.

AC POWER OPERATION
Insert one end of the AC power cord into input jack of AC
power h on the apparatus, the other end into AC outlet.
(You can only use the AC power cord provided together
with the Radio. Using other types of power cord may cause
fire or electric shock.)

Radio:
Aer the apparatus is connected to the power, the power
supply switch needs to be pushed to the le side (RADIO).
Now the Radio is “ON” and the power indicator dwill be lit.
CD:
Aer the apparatus is connected to the power, the power
supply switch needs to be pushed to the right side (CD). Now
the CD-Player is “ON” and the power indicator dwill be lit.
TAPE/ OFF:
When the power supply switch is pushed to the middle
(TAPE/ OFF), cung originally the power supply of the
player and the power indicator dwill not be lit at this
me, but you can of course use the cassee-player to push
the play buon o.

1. 1. Push the FUNCTION SWITCH jto the right to turn on
the CD-Player. The POWER INDICATOR dwill be lit.
2. Open the CD DOOR by pushing OPEN/CLOSE e, put
the CD (silk-prinng side up) on the principle axis of
the mechanism and close the CD door.
3. On LCD DISPLAY s the number of tracks on CD will be
shown.
4. Press PLAY/ PAUSE w to start the playback.
5. Press PLAY/ PAUSE again you can pause playback, to
press again to resume playback.
6. If you want to stop the playback, just press the CD
STOP buon q.
7. During the playback, press the PREVIOUS/ FAST
BACKWARD buon 6, it will skip to the beginning
posion, connuously press this buon for two mes,
you can skip to the previous song and to press the
NEXT/ FAST FORWARD buon 5, you can skip to the
next song.
8. During the playback, press the PREVIOUS/ FAST
BACKWARD buon 6without loosing and the
playback point will fast run back. When it reaches the
posion you require, let loose the buon and the
playback starts from reached point. Press the NEXT/
FAST FORWARD buon 5 without loosing and the
playback point will fast run forward until it reaches the
position you require. Let loose the button and the
playback starts from reached point.
9. During the playback mode, press the REPEAT button
4, then it will repeat the playback for the current
song. Press the button for second time, it will repeat
playback for the whole disc. Press the button for the
third time, then it will random play the disc. When you
press the button for the fourth time, then you can
cancel the repeat operation.
10. During the stop or playback mode you can program
playback for the disc. Press the PROGRAM button 9
and then press the NEXT/ FAST FORWARD buon 5
or the PREVIOUS/ FAST BACKWARD buon 6to select
your desired song number. Then press the PROGRAM
button 9again to save it. Do it in the same way until
you finish programming all the songs you require. To
press the PLAY/ PAUSE buon w, it will start playback
as per the programmed songs order. The LCD will show
PROG. You can program at most 20 songs. When it is
not in CD playback mode, the previous program will be
automacally cancelled.

LISTENING TO THE TAPE
1. Set the FUNCTION switch j to TAPE posion to select
tape playback.
2. Press STOP/OPEN buon y to open the cassee door.
Insert prerecorded tape and close the cassee door a.
3. Press PLAY buon o to start the playback, adjust the
VOLUME control 7 to the desired listening level.
4. Press the PAUSE buon t to stop playback and resume
aer pressing the buon again.
5. Press FAST FORWARD u or BACKWARD buon i to
fast forward or backward the tape. Press STOP/OPEN
buon y and it will stop working.
6. The playback will automacally stop at the end of the
tape. If you want to stop the tape in the halfway, press
the STOP/OPEN buon y.

MAINTENANCE
CLEANING CD
If the CD skips or will not play , the disc may need
cleaning. Before playing, wipe the disc from the centre
out with a cleaning cloth. Do not touch the data surface
(the silver surface) to prevent sound deadlock during
playback. Do not write or sck label on the disc. Aer
playing the CD, store the disc in its case.
CLEANING THE CD LENS
If the CD lens is dusty, clean it with a brush-blower. Blow
several mes on the lens and remove the dust
with the brush. Finger prints may be
removed with a coon swab moistened
with alcohol.
CLEANING THE UNIT
Do not use volale chemicals on this unit. Clean by
lightly wiping with a so cloth.
IMPORTANT NOTE
If an abnormal display indicaon or an operang problem occurs, disconnect the AC power cord and remove the
baeries. Wait at least 5 seconds, then reconnect the AC power cord or reinstall the baeries.

Should the CD door be opened before the reading of the CD completed, a jamming noise may occur. This is
