Assembly instructions
Frame assembly:
1. Find an area large enough to work on the screen. DO NOT ASSEMBLE YOUR SCREEN
A HARD FLOOR. ASSEMBLE ON CARPETED FLOOR ONLY.
NOTE: Do not unroll the projection fabric until frame is fully assembled.
Unpack your drop sheet and lay out in an area
large enough to work on your screen.
You will notice the frame pieces are stuck onto
the foam packaging profiles, this is to prevent
damage in transit. Carefully pull up both ends of
each frame piece, you will feel each extrusion
pop loose. Now carefully unpack the frame pieces
and lay upside down on your drop sheet.
See photo 1. To remove foam pads extend your
supplied cutting knife and hold parallel to the frame (side on) and slice the majority of the foam pad
off, or roll the foam off the alloy if it comes off easier than cutting it.
NOTE: Take out the lengths of SCREEN GRIP before you assemble the frame.
2. Each corner requires 2 corner plates for joining the frame.
3. Insert one plate into each channel of one of the long lengths
and then 3b. Slide one of the short lengths up to the long length.
Make sure brackets are in all the way. You may need to give them a slight tap.

3b. Slide short length up to long length

4. Insert the remaining 2 sets of plates into the last short piece of frame and then insert both
ends into their corresponding channels at the same time. The best method used achieve this is
to insert one side only a small way in so you can also get the other side in. Once they are both
in butt up against their adjoining pieces and tighten grub screws as per steps 2 and 3. You may
need to give the frame a bit of tap to move it into place. See below.
Step 4
Inserting the last piece of frame
5. VERY IMPORTANT - Once you are happy with your joins, go around to all corner
joins with your allen key and ensure all the grub screws are hand tightened only.
Do not over tighten grub screws.
5
Repeat this for the other long side so you end up joining the 2 long sides and one of the
short sides. See below.
Frame assembly continued:

FIXING THE SCREEN FABRIC TO THE FRAME FOR EVO3D,
ULTRA4K, GREY AND REAR PRO.
See PAGE 8 FOR ACOUSTIC VISION FABRIC ATTACHMENT
1. Put on gloves supplied and place the tube at the end of the frame and unroll over the back of
the assemble frame. The fabric should lay approx 10cm over all edges of the frame.
Once rolled out, adjust so it sits evenly over the back of the frame on all 4 sides.
2. Locate the 4 SCREEN-GRIP lengths.
6
Total of 4 SCREEN-GRIP channels
For Evo3D and Evo Ultra 4K you will normally use the 3rd channel from the inner
edge. For other materials such as Acoustic Vision will use the other outer channels
3 also and 4. Tip: If you find the strips too hard to push in, move to the next outer.
channel. Do not belt in with a hammer as you may tare the screen fabric and void
your warranty.

Note the black screen grip strip
how it sits on an angle leaning inward.
This is how it’s meant to look.
When inserting the strips, use same
angle to get lip of strip past the opening.
You may tap in with hammer. Do not
bash in as you may tare the material.
You will hear a dull thud sound when it
falls into place.
Inside the hollow of the 2 long frame lengths are
the 4 screen grip strips.
Pull these out before assembling frame.
(the inner 2 are currently not used)
when putting in place.

3. With the fabric laid out over the frame. Locate one of the short screen grip pieces.
Starting in the middle of one of the short sides, push the screen grip strip into place
in the middle of the 1st short side. Push in about 20cm, then make your way to the
opposite side and pull slightly on the material and insert the other plastic strip about
20cm.
12

4
Start here and push screen grip in approx 10- 20cm
Then pull the fabric across with enough tension that
it sits flat and insert 20cm on the opposite side.
Insert like this

Start here
Once all 4 mid sections are held in place, you can work from the centres out to the
outer edges. Do a quarter of the screen first, see the oval covering one quarter above.
Then proceed to the bottom or opposite quarter marked Q1 thru Q4.
If you have any creases in the fabric you can pull the strip up and re-insert without
much effort.
If you have followed these directions exactly, you should have a perfectly flat viewing surface.
If at anytime you notice crease in fabric, simply pry up or pull up the SCREEN-GRIP strip with a
pair of pliers to get under the edge and reinsert whilst pulling the crease out with your other hand.
DO NOT PULL THE SCREEN GRIP UP BY PULLING THE FABRIC UPWARDS.
THIS MAY TARE THE FABRIC AND VOID YOUR WARRANTY
At this point, carefully lift up the screen and check the viewing surface. Once you are happy
with it’s finish you may cut off any excess fabric with the supplied cutting knife.
1
Grey arrows: Show direction to work out to corners
once centres are put in place. Same for all 4 sides.
Red arrows: Indicate to pull the fabric outwards
as you are pushing in the screen grip strips. Do this
for each section. You may also be surprised to see
you don't need to pull on the material much at all!
Screen fabric
HINT: When doing the 1st quarter of each section of the screen, pull fabric outwards
just ahead of where you are pushing in the strips to take out some of the slack. It wont appear flat
just yet because the opposite side is still to be done - When doing the opposite side, you may not even
need to pull on the material at all as the Screen Grip strips will tension it for you.
Follow these numbered quarter sections. If using 2 hands or gentle tapping with a hammer to push
the grips into place. Another person to help with the fabric is recommended.
NOTE: You only want the material to sit flat, NOT tight like a drum skin. It only needs to be flat,
there is no need to be heavy handed and pull on the material or trying to stretch it.

Fixing Acoustic Vision to the frame.
NOTE: The fabric is supplied in the full width of 250cm.
The fabric MUST BE TURNED on an angle for it to be 100% moire free. See below.
Turn fabric so each side of the frame has approx 5-10cm overhang.
The fabric must be turned to the maximum angle.
Once the screen material is layed out over the frame, take
out the supplied material line roller and roll in the material
on the 2 short sides first. You should be using the 2nd
outermost channel (for Acoustic Vision).
5-10cm overhang
Note: There are up to 12 small pieces of screen grip in a bag.
These can be used to hold the material in the corners after
you’ve splined it into place. You should not need them if you
follow the install manual and get each side attached in order
as per the instructions.

Fixing Acoustic Vision to the frame.
We employ a different method for attaching our Acoustic materials to the frame.
Start here
1st 2nd
4th
3rd
For this last long length, use the method in the image to the right, hold the grip strip
at right angles to the frame and push firmly downwards as you push it/roll it into place.
10
Spline the material into the 3rd channel (2nd outermost)
then insert the black screen grip strip into that channel.
It should be a fairly tight snug fit. If it’s too loose, move
forward to the next innermost channel for a tighter fit.
Next is the opposite short side. Spline this side in with the
roller, making sure there are now no loose areas spanning
the width of the screen.
Once you are happy with the tension across the face of the
screen you can then insert the 2nd black strip starting at the
bottom and working your way up.
Now onto the top and bottom long lengths of the screen.
Spline the 1st long length into the 3rd outermost channel ensuring flatness against
the corresponding short lengths that are now in place.
Then insert the first long length into the channel. If you get any
puckering, pull up the strip, re spline the material and re insert.
Now the last step and most important is the final long length.
Again, spline into the channel, ensuring a nice taught flat finish.
The material may pop out of the channel at different times until
the strips are inserted, don’t worry too much if they do. The spline
roller is supplied to assist in getting the material sitting flat and taught.
Please follow method below.
Short instructions: Spline first short side into frames 3rd outermost channel.
Push black strip into place starting at bottom end. Spline opposite side short side, ensure
material is taught across face of screen, push strip into place.
Do same top and bottom. When you get to last long length, follow method at bottom of page.
This will ensure the frame does not bow under tension from the material.

MOUNTING THE SCREEN
Your new OZ THEATRE SCREEN is now ready to mount. In your accessories pack you will find
4 heavy duty mounting brackets with 2 wall screws.
You will need to drill the brackets into wall studs either side of the centre of the screen frame.
You will need the following tools as stated in the front of this manual;
Drill, battery operated or electric
1/8 drill bit
A level
Tape measure
Phillips head bit (recommended) or screw driver.
If your screen is supplied with 4 mounting brackets. You will have 2 mounting points - double up
the brackets by sitting one on top of the other, this gives the brackets extra strength.
They will both need to be screwed into a stud either side of the centre of your screen.
See diagram below. DO NOT USE WALL ANCHORS INTO GYPROCK!

1. Note there are 2 mounting positions on the back of the
frame. The option on the right side here is recommended
as the standard and the left one for applications where
space above the screen is tight and limited.

If using the top mounting point - raise the screen back approx 10 to 15 degrees and make
sure the top of the bracket sits in the lip.
If using the 2nd mounting point (right side image) Raise the screen up on the wall just up
past the top of the bracket and carefully lower down onto the brackets. See diagrams below.

Rail can also be cut into sections if required.

Rear bracing
Some screens in larger than 4,500mm in length may require rear bracing.
If your screen is smaller than this please ignore this page.
This is a final step done before you mount the screen.
1. Unpack the rear bracing pieces and place on the back of the frame, they will sit
inside the inner channel allowing the screen to still be mounted flush to the wall.
See diagram below
The rear bracing is 3mm thick and 30mm wide which will allow it to sit inside the rear channel
whilst still being mounted flush on the wall. All rear bracing is pre-drilled.
Align the rear bracing pieces on the back of the frame and line up with the pre-drilled holes in
the frame pieces. Screw in place with the supplied screws.

Cleaning the screen surface:
Your Oz Theatre Projection Fabric can be easily damaged if handled, installed or
cleaned incorrectly. Please pay special attention to these cleaning instructions.
Never attempt to use inappropriate cleaning chemicals on the screen.
In the event of soiling the screen surface may be cleaned using the following:
Cleaning guidelines: You will generally require 3 new micro fibre cloths or 3 new
cleaning towels - DO NOT use scourers or abrasive materials on your screen material
or frame. Use a mild solution of detergent and water with a soft new sponge or lint
free cloth. White terry toweling or a soft micro fibre cloth are the most appropriate.
Rub lightly to remove any stains, but be careful NOT to rub back and forth excessively
as this may blemish or mark the fabric effecting the optical and reflective properties.
Use a new moist cloth or towel to wash off and soak up any soap residue that may be
left on the screen then blot with a dry sponge or micro fibre towel to remove excess
water.
Dry the screen with a soft micro fibre cloth or towel by absorbing any remaining water.
If you follow the system of blot/dilute/blot you will almost certainly remove any minor
stains. If you are unsure please call us for advice first on (07) 5546 1960.
If you plan to paint or do any work anywhere near the screen please make sure it is
completely covered with a suitable sheet.
If you follow this cleaning procedure you can expect many years of trouble free use for
your new Oz Theatre Majestic Screen.
Cleaning the frame
BLACK VELVET FINISH - Use a lint brush or soft bristle brush to remove any dust
from the frame. Other cleaning options include a can of compressed air. If you own a
compressor you can also use an air gun to blow off dust and dirt.
14
Screen care

15
The lifetime warranty covers the usefulness of the screen. It does not cover small blemishes in the velvet frame
that can only be seen from obscure angles and that do not effect the on screen image quality or performance, the same applies
the screen vinyl itself. DIY screen materials do not hold any warranty.
