Theunitissuppliedwiththeflexibleshaftdisconnectedfromthemotorunit.Toattachtheflexibleshaft,place
thethreadedferruleendoftheflexibleshaftapproximately20mmfromthecouplinghousing.Engagethe
squaredendoftheflexibleshaftcoreassemblyintothesquaredsealsleeveadaptor.
Thethreadedferruleendoftheflexibleshaftmaynowbescrewedintothemotoradaptor.Rotatetheferrule
endoftheflexibleshaftinananticlockwisedirectiontoengagethelefthandthread.Oncetightenedbyhand
usemultigripplierstoensuretheferruleistightenedsufficientlytostopitfromworkinglooseandcoming
detachedduringoperation.Pleasecheckoillevelpriortooperationoftheunit.Engineoilcapacityis100ml.To
addoilplacetheunitonalevelsurfaceandremovetheoilfillercap.Addoiluntiltheoillevelreachestheedge
oftheoilfillerneck&reinstalltheoilfillercap.Fuelmaynowbeaddedandtheunitisreadyforoperation.
FUNCTIONANDCONTROLS
DriveUnit
Thisportabledriveunitisdesignedtopowerflexshaftdrive,eccentricvibrators.
ThemotoriscontrolledbyanON/OFFpushbuttonwhichismountedbelowthethrottleleveronthehandle.
Themotorspeediscontrolledbythrottlelevermountedonthehandle.Acentrifugalclutchisfittedtothemotor
whichdisengagesthedrivetothevibratorwhenthemotorisidling.Theclutchoperatesautomaticallyand
requiresnoadjustment.Themotorisa4strokeunitandmustonlybeusedwithunleadedpetrol.
Vibrator
Thisvibratorisdesignedforthecompactionofconcretebyimmersionofthevibratorhead.Compaction
improvesthestrengthandfinishofconcretebydrivingoutentrappedair.Highfrequencyvibrationallowsthe
efficientcompactionoflowslumpconcretemixes.Thevibratorheadisdrivenbyarotatingflexibledriveshaft
thattransmitsthedrivefromthedriveunit.Thevibratorheadusesaneccentricmasstoproducevibration.Ball
bearingssupporttherotorateachend.
OPERATION
Tostartthemotor,placetheunitonaflatlevelsurface,andonlypickuptheunitwhentheengineisidling.
TostartthemotorturntheengineswitchtotheONposition.Tostartacoldengine,movethechoke
levertotheclosedpositionTorestartawarmengine,leavethechokeleverintheOPENposition.
Presstheprimingpumpseveraltimesuntilaflowinthefuelreturntubeisvisuallynoticed.
Pullthestartergriplightlyuntilyoufeelresistancewhileholdingtheunitsteady,thenpullbriskly.
Returnthestartergripgently.IfthechokeleverisintheCLOSEDposition,graduallymoveittotheOPEN
positionastheenginewarmsup.
Theidleupfunctionhelpstheenginestartbyopeningthethrottlevalveinthecarburetormoderatelywhenthe
enginewon’tstart.
1.Holddownthethrottleinterlock.
2.Pullthethrottletrigger.
3.Pushtheidleknob,thenreleasethe
throttletriggerandtheinterlock.
4.Starttheengine
NOTE:Thisfunctionmustnotbeusedwhenvibrating.
Alwaysoperatetheunitatfullthrottle.Thiswillensurecorrectconcretecompactionandavoiddamagetothe
drivemechanism.Becarefulstartingandorrevvingtheunitonloosegravelasitmaybesuckedintothe
flywheelcoolingfinscausingdamagetotheunit.Avoidsharpbendsintheflexshaft,particularlywhenitisin
use.Donotuseaeccentrictypeimmersionvibratorheadasanexternalvibratorbyapplyingittotheoutside
offormwork.Donotoperatethevibratingheadoutofconcreteforextendedperiods.Donotleaveitrunning
whileyouwaitforfreshsuppliesofconcretetobeplaced.Vibratorheadsaredesignedtobecooledby
theconcreteinwhichtheyareimmersed.
HAZARDSANDRISKS
NEVERallowanypersontooperateequipmentwithoutadequateinstruction.
ENSUREalloperatorsread,understandandfollowtheoperatinginstructions.

BECAREFULnottocomeincontactwiththemufflerwhentheengineishot,sinceitcancausesevereburns.
ENSUREthatrepairstomachineryarecarriedoutbyCOMPETENTpersonnel.
FIRE&EXPLOSIONHAZARDS
PETROLisextremelyflammableandexplosiveundercertainconditions.
ENSUREthatpetrolisonlystoredinanapprovedstoragecontainer.
DONOTrefuelthemotorwhileitisinoperationorhot.

DONOToverfillthefueltankandavoidspillingpetrolwhenrefuelling.Spilledpetrolorpetrolvapourmay
ignite.Ifspillageoccurs,ensurethattheareaisdrybeforestartingthemotor.Motorvibrationscancausean
improperlytightenedfuelcaptoloosenorcomeoffandspillquantitiesoffuel.Inordertoreduceriskoffuel
spillageandfire,tightenfuelcapbyhandwithasmuchforceaspossible.Toreducetheriskofseriousinjury
fromburns,neverattempttorefueltheunituntilithasbeenstopped&completelyremovedfromtheoperator.

PROTECTIVEFOOTWAREshouldbeworntoreduceinjuriesfrompenetrationthroughthesole,contactwith
cuttingobjects,slipping,contactwithwetconcreteandelectricalhazards.
GOGGLESforeyeprotectionmayalsobenecessary.
USEwaterproofprotectionforhandsandknees(ifkneeling)whenconcreting.Ifyourclothingbecomeswet
fromconcretecontactmakesureyouchangetheclothing.Donotwalkaboutwaitingforittodry.
USEGLOVESwhenhandlingandinspectingtheflexibleshaftoutercasing.Excessivewearoftherubber
covercanexposethewirebraidedreinforcement,allowingittoprojectandcauseinjury.
ADDITIONALHAZARDS
Toreducetheriskofinjuryfromlossofbalance,startthemotorwiththeunitonaflatlevelsurface,andonly
