Product description
Pahlén Midi-Temp is a digital control box intended for measuring and regulating the water temperature in a swimming pool.
The control box adjustment is based on a digital display of the set temperature and the current temperature. The control box has
an output terminal for controlling the heat source, e.g. circulation pump for the heat exchanger, control valve, contactors, etc.
It has an input terminal for external circuits protection, e.g. owmeter, overheating protection and thermostats. The control box
sends an alarm signal in order to initiate the current heating process turn-off and prevent overheating of the heat source.
The alarm signal and the heating shut-off are performed at a too high water temperature in the pool or at sensor malfunction.
Temperature control can be used in various heating systems; heat pumps, boilers, solar panels and electric heaters.
The supply package includes a 230VAC power supply cable and a temperature sensor.
The external protection circuits (ow switches, thermostats, thermal protection units), sensor pocket and optional centering
clamps are complimentary instruments,
supplied as requested, and depend on the intended heating system.

Installation
Midi-Temp control box should be mounted onto a wall with connectors straight down. Use the wall plate supplied in the package
with three pre-drilled holes for the base mounting.
Electric installation works should always be performed by a qualied electrician.
Supply voltage J2 is connected via an all-pole switch with a safety earth and an earth leakage circuit breaker.
Temperature sensor J3 is mounted into the sensor pocket before the heat source.
External safety switches, such as a ow switch or an overheating protection relay are connected in series to J5. If no other
external switches are available,J5 input is connected to PCB.
If you need to extend the temperature sensor cable, it should be joined to a cable with no smaller than same cross section; the
maximum length is 25 m.
NOTE! At connecting electrical devices and adjusting the analogue electric heater, please contact Pahlén and get ad-
vice about the electric connections.
