Your NK-1 includes the Wireless Controller and the BakPak Cloud Management System.
Refer to the Access Points label on the package to determine the number of access
points the controller can manage.
Default settings
Default IP address: 192.168.1.240
Username/password: pakedge/pakedgen

Installing the NK-1
Tools required:
• Phillips screwdriver (if using rack-mount brackets)
• Computer with Ethernet interface and a web browser (an integrated DB-9 port or
USB-to-serial adapter may be necessary to use the console interface.)
• Ethernet cable
Installation
1 Open the box and remove the NK-1.
2 If mounting the NK-1 in a standard 19" AV rack, attach the included rack-mount
brackets to the sides of
the NK-1. If not mounting
to a rack, ensure that
the NK-1 is physically
mounted near power and
network connections (such as a
backbone switch or firewall/router).
3 Connect power to the device.
4 Connect an Ethernet cable from your
computer to the LAN port on the NK-1.
You are now ready to configure the NK-1 to an IP
address that matches your network.

Logging in
The NK-1 includes both the BakPak Cloud Management System and the Wireless
Controller.
1 Connect the NK-1 to power and press the power switch on the rear panel. The
PWR LED lights up.
2 Use an Ethernet cable to connect a computer to the NK-1.
3 Open a web browser and go to 192.168.1.240. A login page opens.
4 Type pakedge in the USERNAME box, type pakedgen in the PASSWORD box,
then click Log In.

Running the Setup Wizard
The first time you log in, the Setup Wizard starts and displays the number of
APs (access points) it has discovered. Note: You will not be able to access the
Wireless Controller Dashboard until this wizard is completed. APDiscovery must
discover at least one AP before you continue with the Setup Wizard.
AP(S) DISCOVERED: Total APs detected.
AP(S) MANAGED: Discovered APs managed by the system.
AP(S) UNMANAGED: Discovered APs not managed due to license limitations.
1 If the number of discovered APs does not match the number of APs that are
actually installed, click Continue Discovery to give it time to discover the
additional APs. When you are satisfied with the AP count, go to Step 2.
2 Click Continue Wizard. The Wizard’s Welcome screen opens.

3 Click Next, and continue to follow the on-screen instructions:
• The NK-1 Setup tab includes configuring (controller name, IP, subnet, gateway,
country, time zone, and username).
Caution: For U.S. NK-1 devices, the Country is locked to United States. For
international NK-1 devices, Country is a drop-down list (defaulting to United
Kingdom), which must be changed to the specific country of operation.
• The Access Point tab includes identifying the AP’s physical location and
updating the firmware.
• The Wireless tab includes configuring SSIDs and security profiles.
4 Click Complete to finish the wizard and apply the new settings to all connected
access points. The Wireless Controller Dashboard opens, where you can view CPU
and memory usage and a list of the types of APs installed.
Note: The wizard is disabled after it has completed setup. To run the wizard
again, you must restore the NK-1 to its factory default settings. To do this, click
the menu bar, click System Settings, then click Factory Default.

Accessing the Home screen
The Home screen is your jumping-o point for cloud-based network management,
wireless controller setup, NK-1 device settings, and NK-1 firmware management. From
the Home screen, you can navigate to the Management Agent (BakPak) and the
Wireless Controller, as well as change NK-1 settings and update its firmware.
1 To access the Home screen, just complete the initial Setup Wizard, then the Home
screen will open. At any other time, from anywhere in the interface, click NK-1 at
the top of the screen, then click Home.

Creating a BakPak account from the cloud
1 Open a web browser and go to mybakpak.com .
2 Click Create Admin Account. The Register for mybakpak page opens.
3 Follow the on-screen instructions to get your Dealer Code.
4 Enter your new login credentials, then click Register.
