Content :Please refer to this supplement regarding the use of 2 types of SPM assemblies and their differences.
Since May 2002 production, the projection in the Traverse base of the (SPM) Spindle Motor Assembly has
been modified and the inner stopper has been deleted.
Therefore, in the course of servicing DVD changers and DVD Home Theater systems, you will encounter
2 types of SPM assemblies.
* There are the original Type A (with the inner stopper) and the revised Type B (without the inner
stopper). See diagrams below.
In addition, there are two types of Spindle Motor Assemblies (SPM) supplied as replacement parts.
* There are SPM TYPE 1 (short projection WITH inner stopper) and TYPE 2 (short projection
WITHOUT inner stopper). Refer to the pictures in the following page.

Remedy :Please install the inner stopper onto the traverse unit before using the SPM Assembly to repair
the DVD player unit.
(Please take proper remedy in repair service for respective combination, refer to the table below.)

* In order to prevent any confusion in the service field, the supplier (SPC) will supply onlyType 1
as service parts from October, 2003.

When Type (A) is replaced with Type (1) ,

Just replace a service part
Type (1) with repair unit. Just replace a service part Type (1) with repair unit.
* Be sure to keep the inner stopper in
the service part Type (1).
Remove an inner stopper from
the repair unit Type (A) and install
it into the service part Type (2).
Then, replace a service part
Type (2) with repair unit.

and install it into a service part
