Overview
This document is intended for those who are setting up PAR’s EverServ 500 terminal to run
PixelPoint Pos. You should know how to install and configure PixelPoint POS prior to reading
this document. Refer to the PixelPoint POS Installation Guide for more information.
The following chapters describe installation and configuration steps that may be needed to set
up Cash Drawer, Customer Display and MSR peripherals. In most cases, terminals ordered and
shipped through PAR will arrive ready to go, in which case this document can be used as a
reference guide. This document also contains information that can be referenced in cases
where the Operating system has been replaced or configuration changes have been made in
error.
This document contains the following sections:

System Files
Begin the setup operation by obtaining the necessary system files. Open the "EverServ500"
ZIP file containing these files. Extract the four ZIP files within:
CCO.zip
VFD.zip
Cash Drawer.zip
PixelPoint OPOS.zip
Perform the following steps. For each step, make sure to run the executable as
*Administrator*. You will only be running the contents of three of the ZIP files in this section.
1. Run OPOS COO v1.6 Runtime.exe from the CCO.zip archive.
2. Run Setup.exe from the VFD.zip archive.
3. Run Setup.exe from the Cash Drawer.zip archive.

PixelPoint OPOS Files
If the Windows path on your system differs from the one shown in these instructions,
modify the paths in these instructions accordingly.
Extract the files from PixelPoint OPOS.zip, and then perform the following steps:
1. Copy DrawerOPOSes500.dll and PoleShowOPOS.dll to the \PixelPOS\DLLS directory.
Create this folder if it does not already exist.
2. Copy the following files into C:\Windows\System32:
Cocash.ocx
Codisp.ocx
Opos20.dll
3. Open Windows Start Menu and type "cmd". Right-click on cmd (the icon), and select
Run as administrator. Agree to the UAC notification if it appears.
4. Type "regsvr32 C:\Windows\system32\Codisp.ocx" in the command line, and then
press Enter. This will register Codisp.ocx in the Windows Registry. You should get the
following message:
Repeat steps 3 to 4 for Cocash.ocx. They must be registered individually. After both OCX files
have been registered, proceed to the next section.

PAR OPOS Drivers
OPOS drivers should already be installed on the terminal when it ships from PAR. Look for
them in the Windows Start Menu under "OPOS Utility". Run the utilities to ensure the OPOS
devices are operating.
If the OPOS Utility drivers are not installed, look for the installation file Setup.exe in the
C:\PAR Drivers\ES500_OPOS_V101\ES500\V1.0.1\ directory. Make sure to run it as
Administrator by right clicking on the file and choosing "Run as Administrator".
Now open Windows Registry Editor by running "regedit" from the Windows Start Menu.
Navigate to the following key to verify that the device names on the system are the same as in
the image below:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OLDforRetail\ServicesOPOS
Once the OPOS installation has been verified, continue to the next section in this document.

Modifying Pixel32.ini
Edit \PixelPOS\pixel32.ini and add a section for each terminal. For example, if you have six
stations, you would need to have six station sections in the INI file.
Make sure that each station section for an EverServ 500 terminal has the following lines under
its heading. Station 1 is shown below.
[STATION1]
PoleDeviceName=FTLDSO
PoleDisp=DLLS/PoleShowOPOS.dll
Drawer1=FTCD1
Drawer=DLLS/DrawerOPOSes500.dll
DrawerOpenTimeOut=10
LeaveOnDrawerClose=Y

Cash Drawer Registry Configuration
In order for the cash drawer to be properly configured, a particular key in the Windows
Registry must have a particular value. It is set as follows:
1. Open the Windows Registry Editor.
2. Navigate through the keys (folders) on the left to the following path:
\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE|OLEforRetail\ServiceOPOS\CashDrawer\FTCD1
3. Double-click on InputStatus in the right panel, and edit the Value data field
appropriately:
If the cash drawer is made by PARTech, this should be "0".
If the cash drawer is not made by PARTech, this should be "1".
