Changing the Interface Language
To change the language from the default English to another language, run the
PhotoBackupStartup.exe app and click on the “Options” button.
Select your language from the drop-down list and click “OK”.

Back Up Options
The Photo Backup Stick Universal allows you to back up using different methods.
Backing Up from Phones & Tablets – Direct Connect – The Photo Backup Stick
Universal can connect directly to iPhones/iPads and Android phones and tablets. One
end of the stick is an Apple Lightening connector used to connect to Apple iOS devices.
USB adapters for Android devices are also included. Connect the adapter for your
Android device to the stick and plug it in. See the sections below on how to install the
apps.
Backing Up from Computers – Back up photos and videos on Windows or Mac
computers by plugging the stick into the computer and running the backup app.
Backing Up from Phones and Tablets Using a Computer – You can back up photos
and videos from iPhones and iPads as well as Android phones and tablets by
connecting them to the computer, plugging in the Photo Backup Stick, and running the
backup app.
Backing Up Using a Windows Computer
To back up photos and videos from Windows computers and laptops, iPhones and
iPads, and/or Android phones and tablets, follow the steps below:
1. Plug the Photo Backup Stick into your computer and run the
PhotoBackupStartup.exe app.

2. Click the “Start Backup” button.
Note: You can back up from the computer and all connected devices at the same
time.
3. Select where to back up from: the Pictures folder, your entire C: drive, or other
locations. If you have phones or tablets connected to the PC, they’ll show up on
this screen. If you connect a device after the app is running, you can click the
“Refresh” button to scan for the device.
Note: By default, the option to back up videos is checked. If you do not want to
back up videos, uncheck this box. Videos over 4GB in size are too large to back
up on the FAT32 formatted Photo Backup Stick drive and will be skipped.
4. Click the “Start Backup” button and wait for the backup to complete.
Note: Backups may take several hours to complete depending on the number of
photos and videos being backed up. Video files can be very large and may take
extra long to copy to the USB drive.

Backing Up iPhones & iPads Using the iOS App
(Available Only in Photo Backup Stick Universal)
To back up from Apple iOS phones or tablets without using a computer, follow the
instructions below:
1. Plug your stick into your device. You should be prompted to install the Photo
Backup Stick app. If you are not, go to:

2. Plug the Photo Backup Stick Universal into your iPhone or iPad.
Note: Use the end with the same tip as your charging cable.

3. Tap to allow the app to communicate with the stick:
4. Start your backup by tapping on Start Backup to back up all photos and videos,
Backup Photos to backup photos only, or Backup Videos to backup videos only.

Backing Up Androids Using the Android App
To back up Android phones or tablets without using a computer, follow the instructions
below:
5. Go to the Google Play store and download the Photo Backup Stick DC app:

6. Install the app and open it.
7. Connect the adapter that was included with your Photo Backup Stick for Android
DC version to the end of the stick:
Note: Use the adapter with the same tip as your charging cable.

9. Tap the “Start Backup” button to back up all photos and videos or tap the
“Backup Photos” to only back up photos or tap the “Backup Videos” button to
only back up videos.
View Backup Up Files
Viewing on Windows – Plug the Photo Backup Stick into your computer and wait for
the window to appear. Open the “backup” folder. Please note, your photos may be
stored in several layers of sub-folders if you chose to keep the backup structure the
same as your computer. So, to view photos, you may need to open several folders
under the backup folder before seeing your photos.
Viewing on Androids – Plug the Photo Backup Stick into your Android device and go
to My Files and tap the USB drive. Open the “backup” folder.

Troubleshooting:
If you are unable to complete a backup, the confirmation screen has a button to “Send
logs to support”. Tap this button to attach logs for our support team to determine what
went wrong. Please note, you must have email setup on the device to send logs to us.
Help Files – The Windows app and Mac app both have a comprehensive help files that
can be accessed from the app. Please read the help file before contacting support.
