Instructions for replacing batteries –Digital/RFID lock on iQ32
Caution: this process is easier with two people –especially removing the drawer as it is heavy.
Read all instructions first before proceeding
1. Open the top drawer and remove the device baskets
2. Undo the 4 x thumbwheels and remove the plastic divider
3. Release the drawer runner locks
Depending on the type of drawer runner, release either by pulling the sliding lock or moving the lever up or down:
Sliding lock type: Lever type:
4.Carefully remove the drawer and place on a carpeted surface
5. If necessary release the power cord cable tie by squeezing the sides

Take care when removing the drawer with
the USB-host cable and the power cord as
these are retained in the side of the cart.
If there is not enough cord length to place
the drawer on the floor as shown, release
the cord cable tie as shown in step 5.

6. Examine the lock strengthening bracket –there are three types:
Version (A) Version (B) Version (C)
(Released Sep 12) (Released Oct 12) (Released Feb 13)
Note: for versions (B) and (C) go to step 8
7. For Version (A) undo the two screws using a Philips screwdriver and an 8mm socket for the nuts on the rear
Note the bracket, washers and nut in this order:
8. Unscrew the battery cover and remove. Remove the batteries
9. Replace the batteries with 4 x high quality AA 1.5V (LR6) batteries (dispose of batteries safely)
NOTE: The manufacturer recommends NOT using lithium batteries as the initial voltage is high

10. For Version (A) replace the two screws using a Philips screwdriver and an 8mm socket for the nuts on the rear
Note the bracket, washers and nut in this order
Note:
For version (A) the lock mounting location may be altered, so when re-assembling do not allow the lock body to
protrude lower than the bottom of the top drawer otherwise it may catch on the lower drawer when the cart is re-
assembled.
11. For all versions:
Replace the power cord cable tie by pushing through hole
12. Replace the drawer - Follow the reverse of steps 1 to 4
Extend the drawer runners to full extension and align the two sections. Gently push the drawer in taking care to
maintain the parallel relationship both sides –do not twist or insert unevenly.
13. Test the lock to ensure everything works OK
