• Retain these instructions for future reference. This product, when installed, will be part of an
engineered system whose specications and performance characteristics are not designed or
controlled by the thermostat’s manufacturer.
• If at any time your system does not operate properly, contact a qualied service person.
• Care should be used to avoid static discharge to the thermostat.
IMPORTANT NOTE
This thermostat was shipped with factory default settings. Your thermostat’s installer may have
congured the thermostat differently from the factory default settings, and may have modied or
disabled certain features. Contact the installer or a service technician if you have questions about
the thermostat’s conguration.

GENERAL
The T190 thermostat is a low-voltage programmable thermostat designed to control most
conventional and heat pump systems. It is congurable for up to two-stage heat and two-stage
cool. The thermostat is 7-day programmable. Different heating and cooling setpoints and times are
programmable for 4 time periods per day. The thermostat can also be set to non-programmable
(manual) operation.
The T190 thermostat does not need batteries to store user-congured settings in memory. During
power loss its internal memory saves the all user settings, congurations, and usage counters
for unlimited time.

BACK PANEL REFERENCE
The three switches on the back panel have been positioned by your thermostat’s installer. Two
of the switches congure the thermostat for the type of HVAC equipment being controlled, and
the third switch species whether the thermostat is hardwired or using battery power. Changing
the switch positions may cause your system or thermostat to not operate properly. Refer to the
installation instructions for more information about these switches.

System Mode Display
HEAT – indicates the system is in heating mode.
HEAT – indicates rst stage heating is on.
HEAT – indicates second stage heating is on.
EM. HEAT – indicates emergency heat (auxiliary heat) is on.
COOL – indicates the system is in cooling mode.
COOL – indicates rst stage cooling is on.
COOL – indicates second stage cooling is on.
AUTO – indicates the system will automatically changeover between heating and cooling modes
as the room temperature varies.
OFF – indicates no heating or cooling will be activated at any temperature.
Temperature Display
Default display (Normal Mode): Digits display the current room temperature.
During programming: Digits are used to set the desired heating and cooling setpoint
temperatures.
°F or °C – indicates Fahrenheit or Celsius temperature, depending upon which was congured
at time of installation.
Day & Time Display
Default display: Digits indicate the current time, and day abbreviations indicate the current day.

During programming: Digits and days are used to program time periods.
PM – indicates PM time when clock is in 12-hour time mode. When PM is not displayed, clock is
in AM time.
Program Display
PROG ON – indicates the thermostat is running the programmed time and temperature settings,
which may be the default factory program or a custom program specied by the user.
OCC1, UNOCC1, OCC2, and UNOCC2 – these are “event icons” indicating the four time
periods per day: two occupied time periods (“OCC1”, “OCC2”) and two unoccupied time periods
(“UNOCC1”, “UNOCC2”). Each time period has its own unique setpoint temperatures.
RECOVERY – indicates the heating or cooling system is in the process of reaching the target
setpoint of the next programmed time period. The RECOVERY icon remains lit until the target
setpoint is reached.
Program Override Indicators
OVERRIDE – indicates thermostat is in temporary manual operation. (Programmed settings are
off, but not lost.)
PERMANENT OVERRIDE – indicates thermostat is in permanent manual operation.
Fan Operation Indicators
FAN ON – indicates constant, continuous fan operation.
FAN AUTO – indicates fan is on only when there is heating or cooling demand.
