INTRODUCTION
PEM-TECH PT301N is a Microprocessor Based Hydrogen Sulfide
Calibrator. The system is capable of generating gas electrochemically
in a range of 5 to 100 parts per million. The concentration of the gas
is displayed on an LCD.

NOTE: THE UNIT USES 4 C BATTERIES. CHANGE
BATTERY EVERY MONTH AND CLEAN THE HOLDERS;
CHANGE BATTERY WHEN LOW LIGHT COMES ON OR
IF UNIT SEEMS TO DEVELOP OUTPUT THAT ARE OFF
SCALE.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
•Apply power to the system by pushing the power switch on the
top of the calibrator.
•The message **WARMING UP** will be displayed on the LCD for
a short time.
•The display will show the battery status (ok or low).
•Press the up or down button on the top of the calibrator to the
desired setting. This is indicated in the top section of the LCD.
When the unit stops adjusting, it will be ready to use.
•NOTE: EXCESSIVE ADJUSTMENT OF THE OUTPUT MAY
CAUSE THE UNIT TO READ SLIGHTLY OFF. THIS WILL
CORRECT ITSELF WITHIN 15 TO 20 MINUTES.

SENSOR CALIBRATION
The PT301N Calibration has no internal electrical adjustment.
However, you may find it necessary to adjust the flow output from
time to time after changing the cell.
To verify output of the cell, fill a small plastic bag with the gas
flowing from the generator. Pull a dragger tube on the contents of
the bag. If you feel the unit is off, adjust the flow adjustment slightly
on top of the generating cell located inside.
•CLOCKWISE ADJUSTMENT DECREASES THE FLOW AND
INCREASES THE OUTPUT CONCENTRATION OF GAS.
•COUNTER CLOCKWISE ADJUSTMENT INCREASES THE
FLOW AND DECREASES THE OUTPUT CONCENTRATION OF
GAS.
•BE SURE TO LET THE PT301N WARM UP 30 MINUTES BEFORE
VERIFYING CONCENTRATION OR ADJUSTING THE UNIT.
•BE SURE THAT FRESH BATTERIES HAVE BEEN INSTALLED
BEFORE ADJUSTMENT.

WARRANTY
PEM-TECH Inc. warrants its equipment to be free from defects in manufacturing and
material provided that such equipment was properly selected for the service intended,
properly installed, and not misused. This equipment will be replaced at Pem-Tech’s sole
option, free of charge and return shipped at lowest transportation cost.
Equipment will only be accepted for warranty repair or replacement with an RMA
number. Call Pem-Tech at 1-800-379-3894 for technical assistance and an authorized
RMA# for return products.
This warranty provides only the benefits specified and does not cover defects which
result from acts beyond the control of PEM-TECH including, but not limited to: damage
by acts of nature, accident, negligence, tampering, failure to operate in accordance with
procedures outlined in the Operations Manual. Pem-Tech’s liability under no
circumstances will exceed replacement of the unit claimed to be defective. The
warranties specified herein are in lieu of any and all other warranties, expressed or
implied. In no event, whether as a result of breach of warranty or alleged negligence,
shall Pem-Tech be liable for special or consequential damages, including, but not limited
to: loss of profits or revenue, loss of equipment or any associated equipment, cost of
capital, cost of substitute equipment, facilities or services, down time costs or claims of
customers of the purchaser for such damages.
