UltraTempheatpumpsarelistedbyETLascomplyingwiththelatestedition
of the“ULStandardfor Safetyfor HeatingandCoolingEquipment”, UL
1995andCSAC22.2No.236.
All Pentair heat pumps must be installed in accordance with the local
building and installation codes as per the utility or authority having
jurisdiction. All local codes take precedence over national codes.In the
absenceoflocalcodes,refertothelatesteditionoftheNationalElectric
Code(NEC)intheUnitedStatesandtheCanadianElectricCode(CEC)
inCanadaforinstallation.

ELECTROCUTION.
Theelectrical supplyto this productmustbe installed by a licensed,
certified electricianor qualified personnelin accordancewith the
NationalElectrical Codeandallapplicablelocalcodesandordinances.
Improperinstallationwillcreateanelectricalhazardwhichcouldresult
indeathorseriousinjurytopool orspausers,installers,orothersdue
toelectricalshock,andmayalsocausedamagetoproperty.Readand
followthespecificinstructionsinsidethisguide.
Do not permit children to use this product.
Forunitsintendedforuseinotherthansingle-
familydwellings,aclearlylabeledemergency
switchshall beprovidedaspartoftheinstallation.Theswitchshall be
readilyaccessibletotheoccupantsandshallbeinstalledatleast5feet
[1.52m]away,adjacentto,andwithinsightoftheunit.
Consumer Information and Safety
TheUltraTempseriesofheatpumpsaredesignedandmanufacturedto
providesafeandreliableservicewheninstalled, operatedandmaintained
according to the information in this manual and the installation codes
referredtoinlatersections.Throughoutthemanual,safetywarningsand
cautionsareidentifiedbythe “ symbol.Besuretoreadandcomply
withallofthewarningsandcautions.
The U.S. ConsumerProductSafetyCommission
warns that elevated water temperaturecan be
hazardous. See belowfor water temperatureguidelinesbeforesetting
temperature. The following “SafetyRulesfor Hot Tubs”
recommendedbythe U.S.ConsumerProduct
SafetyCommissionshould be observedwhenusing the spa.

Spaorhottubwatertemperaturesshouldneverexceed104°F.[40°
C.]. Atemperatureof100°F.[38°C.]isconsideredsafeforahealthy
adult. Special caution is suggested for young children. Prolonged
immersioninhot watercaninducehyperthermia.
2.
Drinking of alcoholic beverages before or during spa or hot tub
use can cause drowsiness which could lead tounconsciousness
and subsequently result indrowning.
3.
Pregnant women beware! Soaking in water above 100° F.
[38° C.] can cause fetal damage during the first three months of
pregnancy (which may result in the birth of a brain-damaged or
deformedchild). Pregnantwomenshouldsticktothe100°F.[38°
C.] maximumrule.
4.
Before entering the spa or hot tub, the user should check the
water temperature with an accurate thermometer. Spa or hot tub
thermostats mayerr inregulating water temperatures.
5.
Personswithamedicalhistoryof heartdisease,circulatoryproblems,
diabetesorbloodpressureproblemsshouldobtaintheirphysician’s
advicebeforeusingspasor hot tubs.
6.
Persons taking medication which induce drowsiness, such as
tranquilizers,antihistaminesoranticoagulantsshouldnotusespas
or hot tubs.
Hyperthermiaoccurswhentheinternal temperatureof thebodyreachesa
levelseveraldegreesabovenormalbodytemperatureof98.6°F.[37°C.].
Thesymptomsof hyperthermiainclude:drowsiness, lethargy,dizziness,
fainting,andanincreaseintheinternaltemperatureofthebody.
The effects of hyperthermia include:
1.
Unawarenessofimpendingdanger.
2.
Failuretoperceiveheat.
3.
Failuretorecognizetheneedtoleavethespa.
4.
Physical inabilitytoexitthespa.
5.
Fetaldamageinpregnant women.
6.
Unconsciousnessresultingindangerofdrowning.
Warranty Information
Heatpumpsaresoldwithalimitedfactorywarranty.Detailsarespecified
onthewarrantycard.Makeall warrantyclaimstoanauthorizedPentair
dealerordirectlytothefactory.Claimsmustincludetheheatpumpserial
number and model(this information can be found on the rating plate),
installationdate, andnameof theinstaller. Shippingcostsarenot included
inthewarrantycoverage.Thiswarrantydoesnotcoverdamagecaused
by improper assembly, installation, operation, improper water chemistry
balancing or other chemical abuse, or improper sanitation application,
winterizing, fieldmodification, or failuretoearthbondandproperlyground
theunit.Anychangestotheheatpump,evaporator,heatexchanger,wiring,
orimproperinstallationmayvoidthewarranty.
