1. Introduction
To all residents of the European Union

This symbol on the device or the package
indicates that disposal of the device after its
lifecycle could harm the environment. Do
not dispose of the unit (or batteries) as
unsorted municipal waste; it should be
taken to a specialized company for
recycling. This device should be returned to
your distributor or to a local recycling
service. Respect the local environmental
rules.
If in doubt, contact your local waste
disposal authorities.

2. Safety Instructions

installation.
Indoor use only.
This device can be used by children aged
from 8 years and above, and persons with
reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities or lack of experience and
knowledge if they have been given

supervision or instruction concerning the
use of the device in a safe way and
understand the hazards involved. Children
shall not play with the device. Cleaning and
user maintenance shall not be made by
children without supervision.
Do not use or install a visibly damaged
device.
All modifications of the device are forbidden
for safety reasons. Damage caused by user
modifications to the device is not covered
by the warranty.
3. General Guidelines
Refer to the Velleman®Service and Quality
Warranty on the last pages of this manual.
Only use the device for its intended
purpose. Using the device in an
unauthorised way will void the warranty.
Damage caused by disregard of certain
guidelines in this manual is not covered by
the warranty and the dealer will not accept
responsibility for any ensuing defects or
problems.
4. Installation and Connection
Installation Guidelines
Avoid pointing the detector towards objects
with highly reflective surfaces such as
mirrors.
Avoid pointing the detector near heat
sources such as heating vents, air
conditioning units, etc.

Avoid pointing the detector towards objects
that may move in the wind such as
curtains, plants, etc.
Install the detector at a distance of
minimum 60 cm when using a lamp of 60 W
or more.
Do not install the detector directly below a
light source.
Installation
Install this detector flat on a wall or in a
corner. Use an appropriate screwdriver and
the included screws and nylon plugs.
1. Open the device by turning the upper
cover.
2. Connect the detector (see below) and
fix the bottom.
3. Re-install the upper cover to close the
detector.
Connection Guidelines
Risk of electroshock! Touching live wires
can cause life-threatening electroshocks.
Have the device installed by qualified
personnel.
Disconnect the power source.
Cover and shield any adjacent live
components.
Ensure the device cannot be switched on.
Make sure the power supply is
disconnected.
See illustration on page 3.

5. Operation
Testing the Detector
1. Test the detector at the point of time
you feel the lamp needs to be switched
on.
2. Turn the TIME knob fully anticlockwise
(dusk to dawn). Turn the LUX knob
fully clockwise to the maximum value.
3. Switch on the power. The detector needs
a warm-up time of ± 30 seconds before
it will switch on the connected lamp.
4. Turn the LUX knob fully anti-clockwise.
The lamp should switch off.
Setting the Detector
1. Turn the LUX knob until the lamp
switches on.
2. Now, set the switch-off delay with the
TIME knob going from 1 hour to all
night.
3. Close the detector with the cover and
tighten the screw.

6. Cleaning and Maintenance
This appliance does not need any particular
maintenance. However, occasionally wipe it
with a damp cloth to keep it looking new.
Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning
solvents or strong detergents.

Dit symbool op het toestel of de verpakking
geeft aan dat, als het na zijn levenscyclus
wordt weggeworpen, dit toestel schade kan
toebrengen aan het milieu. Gooi dit toestel
(en eventuele batterijen) niet bij het

Kinderen mogen niet met het toestel
spelen. De reiniging en het onderhoud van

wijzigingen aanbrengen. Schade door

handleiding.
Gebruik het toestel enkel waarvoor het
gemaakt is. De garantie vervalt
automatisch bij ongeoorloofd gebruik.
De garantie geldt niet voor schade door het
negeren van bepaalde richtlijnen in deze
handleiding en uw dealer zal de
verantwoordelijkheid afwijzen voor defecten
of problemen die hier rechtstreeks verband
mee houden.

4. Installatie en aansluiting
Installatie-instructies
Richt de detector niet op voorwerpen met
sterk reflecterende oppervlakken (bv.
spiegel).
Richt de detector niet op warmtebronnen
(bv. ventilatieopeningen, airconditioning,
enz.).
Richt de detector niet op voorwerpen die in
de wind bewegen (bv. gordijnen, planten,
enz.).
Installeer de detector op een
minimumafstand van 60 cm wanneer u een
lamp gebruikt van 60 W of hoger.
Installeer de detector niet rechtstreeks
onder een lichtbron.
Installatie
Monteer deze detector op een vlakke muur
of in een hoek. Gebruik een geschikte
schroevendraaier en de meegeleverde
schroeven en nylon pluggen.
1. Draai aan het bovendeksel om het
toestel te openen.
2. Sluit de detector aan (zie onder) en
bevestig de onderkant.
3. Plaats het bovendeksel terug om de
detector te sluiten.
Aansluiting
Elektrocutiegevaar! Raak geen kabels aan
die onder stroom staan om dodelijke
elektrische schokken te vermijden.
Laat de detector installeren door een
vakman.
Ontkoppel het toestel van het lichtnet.
