This manual provides the information needed for proper use and maintenance of this air conditioner. Basic
preventative care can help extend the life of this unit. The “Troubleshooting Tips” section in this manual contains a
chart with solutions to the most common problems. Referring to this section may save time and prevent the need
for a service call in the event of a problem.

● The manufacturers nameplate is located on the rear panel of the unit and contains electrical and other technical
data specific to this unit.
● Be sure the unit is properly grounded. To minimize shock and fire hazards, proper grounding is important. The
power cord is equipped with a three-prong grounding plug for protection against shock hazards.
● Your unit must be used in a properly grounded wall receptacle. If the wall receptacle you intend to use is not
adequately grounded or protected by a time delay fuse or circuit breaker, have a qualified electrician install the
proper receptacle.
● Ensure the receptacle is accessible after the unit installation.
● Do not use extension cords or an adaptor plugs with this unit. However, if it is necessary to use an extension
cord, use an approved dehumidifier extension cord only (available at most local hardware stores).
● To avoid the possibility of personal injury, always disconnect the power supply to the unit before installing
and/or servicing.

NOTE:
Inside the bucket, on the left side, is an “arm”
mechanism that wobbles. This piece is called the
“float.” DO NOT remove the foam piece that is
found in the float. See Fig. 2. If the piece is
removed, the bucket will overflow.

NOTE: The control panel of the unit you purchased may be slightly different based on the model.
CONTROL PADS
When you push the button to change operation
modes, the unit will make a beep sound to indicate
that it is changing modes.
PUMP Pad
Press to activate the pump operation.
NOTE: Make sure the pump drain hose is
installed into the unit and the continuous drain
hose is removed from the unit before the pump
operation is activated. When the bucket is full,
the pump starts to work. Refer to the next pages
for removing the collected water. Do not use this
operation when the outdoor temperature is equal
to or less than 32°F (0°C).
FILTER Pad
The check filter feature is a reminder to clean the
air filter for more efficient operation. The Filter
light (Clean Filter light) will illuminate after 250
hours of operation. To reset after cleaning the
filter, press the Filter pad and the light will go off.
FAN Pad
Controls the fan speed. Press to select either
Turbo (High) or Normal fan speed. Set the fan
control to Turbo for maximum moisture removal.
When the humidity has been reduced and quiet
operation is preferred, take the fan off of Turbo so
the unit runs on Normal.
POWER Pad
Press to turn the dehumidifier on and off.
DOWN –& UP + Pads
Humidity Set Control Pads
The humidity level can be set within a range of
35% RH (Relative Humidity) to 85% RH in 5%
increments. For drier air, press the –pad and set
to a lower percent value (%). For damper air, press
the +pad and set to a higher percent value (%).
Timer Set Control Pads
Use the Up/Down pads to set the Auto start and
Auto stop time from 0.0 to 24 hours.
Continuous Operation
To run the unit in continuous mode, press the –
pad until the display reads 35% RH. Then press
the –pad again until the display reads “CO” for
continuous operation. To stop continuous
operation, press the +and set the desired % RH
set point level to resume normal operation.
NOTE: You cannot set a desired humidity while
in continuous mode. Continuous mode means
the dehumidifier will run all the time and does not
need a humidity setting.
TIMER Pad
Press to initiate the auto start and auto stop
feature in conjunction with the + and –pads to
set desired on/off time. See next page.
Display
Shows the actual room % humidity level in a range
of 30% RH to 90% RH (5% accuracy). While
setting the desired humidity or timer, shows the set
% humidity level from 35% to 85% or auto
start/stop time (0−24).

OTHER FEATURES
Bucket Full Light
Illuminates when the bucket is ready to be emptied.
Automatic Shut Off
The dehumidifier shuts off when the bucket is full,
removed, or not placed in the proper position. When
the desired humidity setting is reached, the unit will
cycle off automatically.
Automatic Defrost
When frost builds up on the evaporator coils, the
compressor will cycle off and the fan will continue to
run until the frost disappears. The unit will operate in
“Turbo” fan speed during automatic defrost.
Wait 3 Minutes Before Resuming Operation
After the unit has stopped, it cannot begin operating
again for 3 minutes. This is to protect the unit.
Operation will automatically resume after 3 minutes.
Check Filter Feature
The check filter light will automatically flash (once per
second) when the accumulated operation time
reaches 250 hours of operation or more. The system
starts to count the operation time once the fan motor
operates. After you finish cleaning the air filter, press
the Filter pad; the Filter indicator light clears.
Automatic Restart
If the unit breaks off unexpectedly as the result of
having the power cut, it will automatically restart with
the previous function setting when the power resumes.
Setting the Timer
If setting the timer when the unit is on:
First press the TIMER button; the TIMER OFF
indicator light illuminates. It indicates the Auto Stop
program is initiated. Press the TIMER button again;
the TIMER ON indicator light illuminates. It
indicates the Auto Start program is initiated.
If setting the timer when the unit is off:
First press the TIMER button; the TIMER ON
indicator light illuminates. It indicates the Auto Start
program is initiated. Press the TIMER button again;
the TIMER OFF indicator light illuminates. It
indicates the Auto Stop program is initiated.
- Press or hold the UP or DOWN button to change the
Auto time by 0.5 hour increments, up to 10 hours
then at 1 hour increments up to 24 hours. The
display will count down the time remaining until start.
- The selected time will register in 5 seconds and
the system will automatically revert back to
displaying the previous temperature setting.
- When the start and stop times are set within the
same program sequence, the TIMER ON and OFF
indicator lights both illuminate, identifying both ON
and OFF times are now programmed.
- Turning the unit ON or OFF at any time or
adjusting the timer setting to 0.0 will cancel the
Auto Start/Stop timed program.
- When the LED display window shows the code
P2, the Automatic Start/Stop function will also
be canceled.
A NOTE ABOUT THE TIMER:
When you set the timer, the unit will only go on
once and off once. If you want the dehumidifier to
cycle on and off repeatedly, you do not need to
set the timer. Instead, set your desired humidity
and the unit will cycle on and off based on that
humidity setting.
ERROR AND PROTECTION CODES:
AS - Humidity Sensor Error - Unplug the unit and plug
it back in. If error repeats, call Perfect Aire
Consumer Services. (Phone number is on the
back of this manual.)
ES - Temperature Sensor Error - Unplug the unit
and plug it back in. If error repeats, call Perfect
Aire Consumer Services.
P2 - Bucket is Full - Empty the bucket.
Eb - Bucket is removed or not in correct position -
Replace the bucket in the proper position.
EC - Unit Malfunction - Please make sure the
temperature of the environment is suitable for
the proper operation of the unit. The unit should
be operated in an environment from 41ºF (5ºC)
– 95ºF (35ºC). If the unit’s location falls in this
temperature range and you continue to get the
EC error code, call Perfect Aire Consumer
Services.
E3 - Unit malfunction - Unplug the unit and plug it
back in. If error repeats, call Perfect Aire
Consumer Services.

POSITIONING THE UNIT
A dehumidifier operating in a basement will have little or no effect in drying an adjacent enclosed storage area,
such as a closet, unless there is adequate circulation of air in and out of the area.
● Do not use outdoors.
● This dehumidifier is intended for indoor residential
applications only. This dehumidifier should not be
used for commercial or industrial applications.
●Place the dehumidifer on a smooth, level floor
strong enough to support the unit with a full bucket
of water.
●Allow at least 8 inches of air space on all sides of
the unit for good air circulation.
●Place the unit in an area where the temperature will
not fall below 41ºF (5ºC). The coils can become
covered with frost at temperatures below 41ºF
(5ºC), which may reduce performance.
●Place the unit away from the clothes dryer, heater,
and radiator.
●Use the unit to prevent moisture damage anywhere
books or valuables are stored.
●The dehumidifier must be operated in an enclosed
area to be most effective.
●Close all doors, windows and other outside
openings to the room.
WHEN USING THE UNIT
●When first using the dehumidifier, operate the unit on continuous mode for the first 24 hours. (See
“Continuous Operation” on page 5.) This helps the refrigerant settle in properly. After the first 24 hours, if you
would like the unit to cycle on and off based around your desired humidity setting, take the unit off of
continuous mode and use the (+) and (–) buttons to set your desired humidity. Putting the unit back on
continuous mode will override any humidity setting you have set.
●This unit is designed to operate with a working environment between 41ºF (5ºC) and 95ºF (35ºC).
● If the unit has been switched off and needs to be switched on again quickly, allow approximately three minutes
for the correct operation to resume.
●Do not connect the dehumidifier to a multiple socket outlet that is also being used for other electrical appliances.
●Select a suitable location, making sure you have easy access to an electrical outlet.
●Plug the unit into an electrical socket/outlet that is grounded.
● Make sure the water bucket is correctly inserted. If it is not, the unit will not operate properly.
NOTE: Always be careful when moving the unit, especially as the water level rises in the bucket; the higher the
water level gets in the bucket, the easier it is for the unit to fall over when being moved. It is best to empty
the bucket before moving the unit.

REMOVING THE COLLECTED WATER
There are three ways to remove collected water:
●Use the bucket.
● Continuous draining - gravity takes water down hose into drain.
● Pump Draining - bucket fills, then pump drains water up to 16 ft.
Select only one of these draining options at a time. Using multiple options simulaneously can result in leaking.
OPTION 1: Use the bucket
● If the unit is off and the bucket is full, the “Full” indicator light
will illuminate.
● If the unit is on and the bucket is full, the compressor and the fan will
turn off, the “Full” indicator light will illuminate, and the digital display will
show P2.
● Slowly pull out the bucket. Grip the left and right handles securely and
carefully pull out straight so water does not spill. Do not put the bucket
on the floor as the bottom of the bucket is uneven; doing so will cause
the bucket to fall over and water to spill.
● Pour out the water and replace the bucket. The bucket must be secure
and in the correct place for the dehumidifier to operate.
● The machine will re-start when the bucket is restored in its correct
position and the unit is powered on.
NOTES:
● When you remove the bucket, do not touch any parts inside of the unit.
Doing so may damage the product.
● Be sure to push the bucket gently all the way into the unit. Banging the
bucket against anything or failing to push it in securely may cause the
unit not to operate.
● If the built-in pump hose drops (swings down) when you remove the
bucket (see Fig. 7), you must swing the pump hose back up (parallel to
ground) before replacing the bucket in the unit (see Fig. 8).
● If there is any water in the unit when you remove the bucket, be sure to
dry it.
● If the bucket is removed when the unit is on, the compressor and the
fan will turn off, the unit will beep 8 times, and the digital display will
show Eb.
● If the bucket is removed when the unit is off, the unit will beep 8 times
and the digital display will show Eb.

OPTION 2: Continuous Draining
Water can be automatically emptied into a floor drain by attaching
a garden/dehumidifier hose (Inner Diamater ≥ 5/16", not included)
with a female threaded end (Inner Diameter: M=1", not included)
to the unit using adaptor A (included) and the short drain hose
(included).
● Attach the short drain hose onto the adaptor A. (See Fig. 9.
Adaptor and short drain hose can be found inside the bucket.)
● Remove the rubber plug from the back drain outlet of the unit,
set it aside and remove the bucket. (Make sure not to lose the
rubber plug as it is required should you later choose an
alternate drainage option.) Insert the drain hose assembly
through the drain outlet on the back of of the unit and securely
press it onto the connector on the front of the unit. (See Fig. 10
and Fig. 11.)
● Tighten adaptor A to the unit by using the two screws included
with the unit. These screws can be found in a pouch inside the
packaging for this user manual.
● Install the female threaded end of the water hose onto adaptor
A. (See Fig. 12.) Then, lead the water hose to the floor drain or
a suitable drainage facility.
● Make sure the hose is secure so there are no leaks.
● Make sure there are no kinks in the hose that will stop the
water from flowing.
● Place the end of the hose into the drain. The hose must be on
a decline so gravity can take the water downward into the
drain. Make sure the end of the hose is level or downward to
the drain, never attempting to push water upwards.
● Place the bucket back in the unit, making sure it is securely in
the proper place.
● Select the desired humidity setting and fan speed on the unit
for continuous draining to start. (You may choose to run the
unit on Continuous mode so it runs all the time. In Continuous
mode, you will not be able to set a desired humidity setting.)
NOTES:
● When the continuous draining feature is not being used,
remove the hose, Adaptor A and short hose from the
continuous drain outlet and place the rubber plug back on the
outlet. Failing to place the plastic cover into the outlet can
cause leaking from the unit.
● A maximum hose length of 6 ft is recommended.
● If you wish to continuously drain through a clear tube (no
threaded end) rather than using the short hose and Adaptor A
to connect to a threaded hose, you can connect a clear tube
(1/2” inner diameter, 5/8” outer diameter, max length of 6 ft)
directly to the connector inside the unit as shown in Fig. 11.
● Continuous mode is different than continous draining.
Continuous mode means the unit will run all the time and you
cannot set a desired humidity. Continuous draining means
that you are choosing to drain water downward into a drain.

OPTION 3: Pump Draining
Water can be automatically emptied into a floor drain or a suitable
drainage facility by attaching the pump drain hose (Outer Diameter =
1/4”, supplied) to the pump drain outlet.
● If you have the continuous drain hose option installed, remove it as
instructed on page 8, making sure to replace the rubber plug over the
continuous drain hole. (See Fig. 13). Continuous draining and pump
draining should not be used simultaneously.
● Insert the 16 ft pump drain hose (enclosed) into the pump drain hose
outlet at least 5/8”. (See Fig. 14.) Lead the drain hose to the floor drain
or a suitable drainage facility.
● Press the pump pad (button) on the control pad of the unit to activate
the pump operation. When the bucket is partially full, the pump starts
to work.
NOTE: The pump may be very noisy for the first 3–5 minutes after
it starts working. This is normal.
● Make sure the hose is secure so there are no leaks.
● Direct the hose toward the drain, making sure that there are no kinks
that will stop the water from flowing.
● Place the end of the hose into the drain. The hose iteself may be
directed vertically, but make sure the end of the hose is level or
downward. If the very end of the hose is facing upward, water may
have difficulty draining.
● Select the desired humidity setting and fan speed on the unit for the
unit to start. (Alternatively, you may choose to run the unit on
Continuous mode so it runs all the time rather than cycling on and off
based around your humidity setting. In Continuous mode, you will not
be able to set a desired humidity setting.)
● The “pump operation” indicator light blinks when the pump is in
operational failure. Please turn off the unit and unplug the power cord.
Check the following things:
▪Clean the filter of the pump; remove the bucket from the
unit, take down the pump and clean the filter of the pump by
rinsing it with water. (See Fig. 15.)
▪Check that the pump drain hose is not kinked or blocked.
▪ Empty the water from the bucket.
▪ If the built-in pump hose drops when you remove the bucket
(see Fig. 7 on page 8), you must reposition the pump hose
properly in the unit before replacing the bucket in the unit.
(See Fig. 8 on page 8.)
● Do not use the pump draining when the outdoor temperature is equal
to or less than 32°F (0°C). Attempting to drain outdoors when the
temperature is 32°F (0°C) or lower can cause water to freeze, blocking
up the hose and resulting in unit failure.
● Make sure to empty the bucket once a week when using the pump
draining option.
● When the pump draining feature is not being used, remove the pump
drain hose from the outlet as described below.
● To remove the pump drain hose, press the pump drain hose outlet and
remove the hose. (See Fig. 16.) Make sure not to let the water in the

1. Clean the grille and case.
● Use water and a mild detergent. Do not use bleach or abrasives.
● Do not splash water directly onto the main unit. Doing so may
cause an electrical shock, the insulation to deteriorate, or the unit
to rust.
● The air intake and outlet grilles get soiled easily; use a vacuum
attachment or brush to clean.
2. Clean the bucket.
Every few weeks, clean the bucket to prevent growth of mold,
mildew and bacteria. To clean the bucket, partially fill it with clean
water and add a little mild detergent. Swish it around in the bucket,
empty and rinse.
NOTES:
▪ Do not use a dishwasher to clean the bucket.
▪ After cleaning, the bucket must be securely in place for the
dehumidifier to operate.
3. Clean the air filter.
● Remove the filter every two weeks (based on normal
operating conditions).
● Remove the filter from the top of the unit (See Fig. 17).
● Wash the filter with clean water. Dry the filter completely in a cool,
dry place.
● Re-install the filter.
CAUTION: DO NOT operate the dehumidifier without a filter as
dirt and lint will clog the unit and reduce performance.
When not using the unit for long periods of time.
● After turning off the unit, wait one day before emptying the bucket.
This allows any water inside the unit enough time to drain into the
bucket before you pack up the unit for storage.
● Clean the main unit, water bucket and air filter. Dry all pieces
completely.
● Wrap the cord and bundle it with the band. (See Fig. 18.)
● Cover the unit with a plastic bag.
● Store the unit upright in a dry, well-ventilated place.
Turn the dehumidifier off and remove the plug from the wall outlet before cleaning.

TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS
Before calling for service, please review the chart below.
AUTO DEFROST
DISPLAYS REPEATEDLY
Turn off unit and unplug 4-6 hours.
Plug unit back in. Run in normal mode (no Turbo fan, not on Continuous operation) and set humidity level to no
more than 5% lower humidity than what the display reads for the room humidity.
Allow time for the unit to run until it successfully reaches initial humidity setting.
Lower humidity another 5% and repeat until desired humidity is reached. (Average setting should be 45-50%.)
Be sure unit humidity is not set too low, unit is not sitting on too cold of a floor and unit is not being used in too
cold of a room. (Room should be 41º F or above.)
Be sure there is sufficient air circulation between the unit and the floor. If unit is on a cold, hard floor, unplug
the unit and carefully and securely elevate unit a few inches off the floor for better air circulation.
Issue Possible Solutions
DEHUMIDIFIER P2 OR
‘BUCKET FULL’ DISPLAYS
Verify rubber drain plug is not removed from back of unit if using bucket to collect water.
Check float switch (inch length silver tab in top of unit behind bucket) to ensure it is not cracked, bent, broken,
dirty, or obstructed. If bent, re-adjust by re-bending back in place. The switch is located on the left side behind
the bucket when you are facing the unit.
Check that unit is level and the filter, vents and bucket are thoroughly clean.
Ensure float is snapped into place inside the bucket and that foam piece is inserted in float. See page 4, Fig. 2.
Unplug unit for at least 5 minutes. Plug back in unit. Remove and return bucket securely, then turn on unit.
DEHUMIDIFIER NOT
DRAWING WATER
Be sure unit is not too large or too small for the area of the room.
When first installed, run unit on Continuous Mode for 24 hours.
Allow enough time for unit to remove moisture.
Set humidity low enough to ensure moisture removal. Setting the unit below 45% is not recommended.
Setting may be the same as actual humidity in room, thus no moisture to remove.
Be sure all doors, windows and other openings are securely closed.
Be sure unit is level and that there is sufficient air circulation around the unit, as well as between unit and floor.
Make sure unit is level and that there are no curtains, blinds, or furniture blocking the unit.
Check that room temperature is 41º F or above.
If unit is near a heat source, such as a clothes dryer, etc., relocate unit.
DEHUMIDIFIER
CONSTANTLY CYCLES
ON/OFF
Be sure unit is not too large or too small for the area of the room.
Using unit in much less than its stated coverage will likely cause it to go on and off more frequently. Using too
small of a unit will cause it to run constantly.
If the humidity setting and actual humidity in room are cycling right around the same, the unit would go off and
on accordingly.
The fan will run for a few minutes after the compressor shuts off. If you have turned the Continuous mode on,
the fan and compresser will not turn off; they will run continuously in this mode.
Check that unit is level and the filter, vents and bucket are thoroughly clean and nothing is obstructing them.
Be sure all doors, windows and other openings are securely closed.
Ensure there is sufficient air circulation around the unit, as well as between unit and floor.
Unplug unit for at least 5 minutes. Plug back in unit, remove and return bucket to dehumidifier and turn on.
This is normal. The dehumidifier has an auto defrost feature. See page 6 for more information.
FROST APPEARS ON THE COILS
These are error and protection codes. See page 6 of this manual for more information.

TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS (CONTINUED)

CONTINUOUS DRAIN
NOT WORKING
PROPERLY
Be sure hose is CLEAN, pliable and no longer than 6 feet in length (recommended). Clear tubing with sizing of
5/8 inch for the outer diameter and 1/2 inch for inner diameter is recommended.
Hose should be secure on both ends, being especially mindful that it is pushed all the way onto connector piece
inside unit.
Hose should exit through the back of unit and always be positioned at a DOWNWARD slope to the desired
drain location.
If using garden hose attached to adaptor piece, be sure connection is secure throughout.
Be sure nothing is obstructing hose connection and there are no kinks or tears in any of the hosing.
Ensure unit is level and not tilted forward and that bucket is pushed in all the way. Though the unit may appear
level, if the surface it sits on is even slightly uneven and the front of the unit is tilted downward, continuous
draining may not work. If necessary, slightly prop up the front two wheels of the unit, taking care that the unit
does not fall backward.
Check that filter, vents and bucket are thoroughly clean.
If water is going into bucket instead of hose, the unit is working properly. Please double check all of the above
and/or un-hook hosing set-up and start again.
UNIT DOES NOT START
Make sure the dehumidifer’s plug is pushed completely into the outlet.
Check the fuse/circuit breaker box in your home.
The bucket is full and needs to be emptied.
The water bucket is not in the proper position.
UNIT MAKES A LOUD NOISE
WHEN OPERATING
Make sure the air filter is clean and not clogged.
Make sure the unit is upright (not tilted) and on a flat, level surface.
If you are using the pump operation, the unit may be noisy for the first 3-5 minutes after the pump begins
operating. This is normal.
WATER ON FLOOR
Check the hose connection points to make sure they are not loose.
If collecting water in the bucket, make sure continuous drain outlet plug has not been removed from back of unit.
Make sure the foam piece has not been removed from the float. Without this piece, the float mechanism will not
work properly and the bucket will overflow. See page 4, Fig. 2.
THE PUMP OPERATION
“ON” LIGHT IS BLINKING
Clean the pump filter by rinsing it with water. See page 10, Fig. 15.
Check that the pump hose is not kinked or blocked.
Empty the water that is in the bucket.
Question Possible Solutions
DEHUMIDIFIER ALWAYS
RUNNING
Be sure unit is not too large or too small for the area of the room.
Allow enough time for unit to remove moisture.
If set on Continuous Mode, de-select button and set unit to an appropriate humidity setting.
If humidity in room is above the set humidity, then unit will be running.
Be sure all doors, windows and other openings are securely closed.
Be sure unit is level and that there is sufficient air circulation around the unit, as well as between unit and floor.
Make sure there are no curtains, blinds, or furniture blocking the unit.
Lower room temperature.
If unit is near a source of moisture, such as a sink, shower, washing machine, etc., then relocate unit.
Check that filter, vents and bucket are thoroughly clean.
NOTE: A highly recommended troubleshoot for any issue in general consists of turning off unit and unplugging for 5 minutes.
It is also recommended to try another wall outlet.
