1. General
We assume that you are familiar with the general issues of irrigation. This manual is
therefore brief and contains only information, which needs to be at hand during system
operation.
Warranty claims may only be made if the controller has been operated according to
instructions set forth in this manual and if the fault occurs during the warranty period.
1.1. Application
The valve is used, for a controlled switching on and off, of the water flow from a water
source to the sprinkler.
Water temperature max.: 40oC.
Ambient temperature max: 60oC
1.2 Warranty Information
Regnerbau Calw GmbH guaranties to the product owners that all their new products
are free of material and/or workmanship faults. The provided product is used for
irrigation, in accordance with recommendations as specified by the producer, for the
duration of the warranty period specified hereinafter. The warranty does not cover
valves faults caused by act of God (storms, floods, etc.)

This warranty does not cover valves used and/or installed and/or modified in
contravention of the technical data or operating/installation instructions as issued by
Regnerbau Calw GmbH.
Regnerbau Calw GmbH waives any liability for indirect or subsequent damage
incurred in connection with using the valves, including but not limited to damage
to plant material, cost of technology/service replacement; incurred during the
existence of the fault or due to the valves being out of operation; damage to other
property; injuries to the operator(s) caused by negligence or by other reasons.
All automatic guarantees, including guarantees for typical quality or suitability of
the merchandise are limited to the warranty period as specified by the law.
2. Safety
This operation & safety manual contains the basic instructions for installation, operation,
maintenance and repair to the valves. It is absolutely necessary that the professional
installation technician and the qualified staff/operator study this manual thoroughly prior
to initiating the valve installation and commissioning it into operation.
Please follow both the general safety instructions specified in this chapter, and the
particular safety warnings pointed out in other chapters.
2.1. Marking of Instructions in the Operation Manual
Safety instructions, non-compliance with which could lead to risking people's health
are marked with the "danger" symbol:
"Warning" is printed next to instructions where non-compliance may represent a risk
to the valve and/or its operation.

4. Installation
Before installation of the valves the pipes are to be flushed proper
until the pipes are clean.
For sealing of the thread use hemp and sealing compound, for example use
Fermit special
Respect direction flow:
The arrow on the valve body shows the correct direction of flow
Position of installation as desired. However pay attention that a complete drain is
only possible if the installation is horizontal.
To avoid mechanical strength from the pipes to the valve, a tube loop should
always be installed in front and behind of the valve, to avoid mechanical tension,
which takes effect on the valve. (see sketch 1)
The cable connection from coil to the control cable must be watertight. (e.g. with
cable connector DBY)

5. Commissioning / preparation for hibernation
5.1. Commissioning
a) Examine electrical functions:
Before opening water supply to the valve, the coil must be activated through a control
module. With help of an acoustic „click“ on the coil, the correct electrical function
can be found out. (The click occurs when pulling the plunger)
b) Make sure that <manual opening> stands on AUTO
In that position it is guaranteed, that the valve closes after water supply in case it is
de-energized (see sketch 2).
c) Open slowly water supply to the valve until operating pressure is available. Possibly
the valve opens briefly and closes than after 30 seconds autonomous.
h) After the water supply is opened and the max. operating pressure is reached, all
sealing points are to be examined.
i) Examine valve on faultless function:
Open valve with <manual control> turn to position OPEN
j) Close <manual control> - position CLOSED – the valve must shut off the water flow
within 30 sec.
k) Re-examine correct function by activating the control module electrically.

5.2. Preparation for winter
c) Drain
Drain supply pipe
Open drain valve and let it open during the frost period.
Activate solenoid several times electrically.
d) Blowing out
Solenoid valves are to be blown out before frost period.
Connect supply pipe to air compressor. Activate valve and let it open until
only air (without water admixture) leaves the sprinkler.
sketch 3
6. Maintenance
Remove the solenoid by pressing back the clamping ring and pulling out the control
pipe. Check for dirt and clean if required. (see sketch 3)
Remove the filter, also first pulling out the control pipe. Check for dirt and clean if
required. (see sketch 3)

7. Trouble shooting + solutions (sketch 4)
7.1. Malfunction
Problem Reason Solution
Clean the finger filter
Check the control pipe for
kinks and dirt particles
Valve closes slowly but
completely
Control water needs too
much time to close the
membrane.
Remove and clean solenoid
or manual control
Control water does not
reach min. pressure
Unscrew valve cover and
check the membrane for
holes or cracks
Valve does not seal
completely
Membrane can not seal to
valve body
Check the interior of the
valve for stones or dirt
particles
plunger sticks in the coil Dismount coil and clean it.
No or little voltage on the
supply pipeline
Generate a supply voltage of
24 VAC
Coil defect Examine coil resistance (it
has to be approximately 30
Ohm) if necessary change
coil
Discharge hole from coil
blocked
Clean discharge hole
Valve only opens / closes
manual but not with an
electrical signal.
Screw <manual opening>
is in CLOSE position
Turn <manual control> to
position AUTO
Water control hole or
discharge hole is blocked
Unscrew manual control and
solenoid and clean the
drillings
Valve does not open even not
with manual opening
No or little pressure on the
supply pipe
Generate a proper supply
pressure voltage or too little
flow
Coil seat contaminated Clean coil seat
Soil between valve seat and
sealing plate
Turn off valve cover,
Clean and flush valve
diaphragm defect Turn off valve cover and
change diaphragm
Pressure drop to low Increase supply pressure or
flow too little
Valve does not close
Water control filter soiled Unscrew and clean filter
Less discharge pressure Stones an soil particles
suppress the water flow
Turn off valve cover, clean
and flush valve

7.2. Disassembly / assembly <control unit > (see picture 1+2)
Before above mentioned works are executed, it must be ensure that the valve is
pressure-less.
Disassembly
Take hoses out of the screwed elbow connection.
To do this, press the dismantling ring to the angle,
then pull on the hose
Screw out solenoid seating completely by hand (without tools)
Screw <manual control> with 19 mm open-ended spanner out of the valve cover
