Multiple Sound Siren PSE04
Built-in high accuracy Temperature sensor
The PSE04 is a wireless siren, based on Z-WaveTM technology. It is the
Z-Wave Pl sTM prod ct, it s pport the sec rity, OTA... Those newest
feat res of the Z-WaveTM technology. Z-WaveTM is a wireless
comm nication protocol designed for home a tomation, specifically to
remotely control applications in residential and light commercial
environments. The technology ses a low-power RF radio embedded or
retrofitted into home electronics devices and systems, s ch as lighting,
home access control, entertainment systems and ho sehold appliances.
This prod ct can be incl ded and operated in any Z-WaveTM network
with other Z-WaveTM certified devices from other man fact rers and/or
other applications. All non-battery operated nodes within the network
will act as repeaters regardless of vendor to increase reliability of the
network.
The device adopt the Z-WaveTM 700 series chip, when yo r Z-WaveTM
network system is all made by Z-WaveTM 700 series devices. The
network system will have the advantages as below.
•Conc rrent m lti-channel s pport red ces external interference.
•Better RF range, improve abo t 10 meters in indoor.
•S pport 100 Kbps transmit speed, speed p comm nication.

Adding to Z-WaveTM etwork
There is one tamper key on the device. The tamper key can add,
remove, reset from Z-WaveTM network.
In the first time, add the device into the Z-WaveTM network. First, make
s re the primary controller is in the add mode. And then power on the
device. The device will a to start the SmartStart Incl sion mode.
otice: Incl ding a node ID allocated by Z-WaveTM Controller means
“Add” or “Inclusion”. Excl ding a node ID allocated by Z-WaveTM
Controller means “Remove” or “Exclusion”.
Function Description
Add
1. Have Z-WaveTM Controller entered incl sion mode.
2. Pressing tamper key three times within 1.5 seconds
to enter the incl sion mode.
3. After add s ccessf l, the LED will light ON 1 second
Remove
1. Have Z-WaveTM Controller entered excl sion mode.
2. Pressing tamper key three times within 1.5 seconds
to enter the excl sion mode.
3. Node ID has been excl ded.
Reset
otice: Use this procedure only in the event
that the primary controller is lost or
otherwise inoperable.
1. Pressing tamper key fo r times within 1.5 seconds
and do not release the tamper key in the 4th
pressed, and the LED will light ON.
2. After 3 seconds the LED will t rn OFF, after that
within 2 seconds, release the tamper key. If
s ccessf l, the LED will light ON one second.
Otherwise, the LED will flash once.
3. IDs are excl ded and all settings will reset to
factory defa lt.
SmartStart
1. Prod ct has a DSK string , yo can key in first five
digit to increment SmartStart process,or yo can
scan QR code.

2. SmartStart enabled prod cts can be added into a
Z-Wave network by scanning the Z-Wave QR Code
present on the prod ct providing SmartStart
incl sion. No f rther action is req ired and the
SmartStart prod ct will be added a tomatically
within 10 min tes of min tes On in the network
vicinity.
*notice1:The QR code can be fo nd on the device
PSE04 or on the box.
Association
This machine provides one gro ps of nodes. Each
gro p can set 1 Nodes.
Gro p 1 is called Lifeline the device will report :
1.Notification report
2.Sensor m ltilevel report
3.Device Reset Locally Notification
4.Battery Report
5.Indicator Report
•Failed or s ccess in incl ding/excl ding the node ID can be
viewed from Z-WaveTM Controller.
otice 1: Always RESET a Z-WaveTM device before trying to add it to a
Z-WaveTM network.

LED Light Indication
The LED light indicates the different modes of the PSE04
State Type LED Indication
Witho t Node ID Under normal operation, when the PSE04 has not
been allocated a node ID, the LED light will flash on
and off alternately at 0.5 second intervals. By
pressing the On/Off b tton, LED light will stop
flashing temporarily.
Learning Slow flashes once when learning is s ccessf l.
Alarm Trigger All LED flashes ntil trigger off.
Z-WaveTM Message Report
In defa lt the device will sing Notification Report to represent the
tamper trigger event.
* Tamper Report:
When the tamper key is pressed over 5 seconds. The device will into
the alarm state. In that state, if the tamper key be released, the device
will nsolicited to send the report to the nodes in the gro p 1.
Notification Report (V8)
Notification Type: Home Sec rity (0x07)
Event: Tampering. Prod ct covering removed (0x03)
* Siren State Report:
When the siren start playing or stop the alarm so nds, the device will
nsolicited to send the “Notification Report” to the nodes in the gro p

Notification Report (V8)
Notification Type: Siren (0x0E)
Event: Siren active (0x01) , Siren idle (0x00)
*Temperature Report:
When the temperat re differential over, the device will nsolicited to
send the “Sensor M ltilevel Report” to the nodes in the lifeline gro p.
Sensor Type: Temperat re (0x01)
*** Temperat re differential report ***
This f nction defa lt is disable, to enable this f nction by setting the
config ration NO.5 is greater than 0.
In the defa lt, is disable temperat re differential report.
If setting the config ration NO.5 to 1, when the temperat re is
changed to pl s or min s one degree Fahrenheit (0.56 degree Celsi s),
the device will report temperat re information to the nodes in the
lifeline gro p.
The device will meas re the temperat re in every 10 seconds. And if
the temperat re is over 140 degree Fahrenheit (60 degree Celsi s), the
device will always report in each meas rement.
Notice 1: The PSE04 m st stay awake for at least 2 seconds after
comm nicating, so therefore the more comm nication, the power
consumption fast, please pay attention to se config ration NO.5.
Notice 2: This prod ct cannot reflect o tdoor temperat re immediately
beca se of the temperat re sensor eq ipped inside rather than s rface.

change the tick interval, the defa lt val e is 30, if setting to 1, that
means the minim m a to report interval will be one min te. And please
notice if setting this val e to zero, that means disable all of the timing
report except the low battery detection.
Power Up Procedure
*Battery Power Check
When the device power p, the device will detect the power level of the
battery immediately. If the power level is too low, device will report low
battery even every 30 min tes. Please change another new battery.
*Wake up beam
If a Z-Wave controller or other node in the network needs to
comm nicate with a battery-powered device s ch as a door lock, the
controller sends a special beam signal. The p rpose of this beam is to
wake p the FLiRS device.
When the FLiRS device receives this beam, it immediately f lly wakes
p and then comm nicates with the controller or other Z-Wave device
tilizing standard Z-Wave protocol commands. If the device does not
hear a Beam it goes back to f ll sleep for another period ntil it
partially awakes again and listens for a Beam.
Over The Air (OTA) Firmware Update
The device is supported with Z-Wave™ firmware update via OTA.
1. Set the Z-WaveTM Controller into the firmware update mode.
2. Choose the he file to update the firmware.
3. Wait 10~15 minutes for completing the OTA process.
4. Result of OTA will show in Z-Wave™ Controller log.
During the OTA process, please DO NOT remove the power,
6

otherwise, the firmware will be broken, and the device will be
nonfunctional.
