Important
Read this user manual carefully before you use the appliance and save it for future reference.
Check if the voltage indicated on the appliance corresponds to the local mains voltage before
you connect the appliance.
Do not use the appliance if the mains cord, the plug or the appliance itself is damaged.
If the mains cord is damaged, you must have it replaced by Philips, a service centre authorised
by Philips or similarly qualied persons in order to avoid a hazard.
Keep the appliance and its cord out of the reach of children. Do not let the mains cord hang
over the edge of the table or worktop on which the appliance stands.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been
given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for
their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
Do not place the appliance on a hot surface and prevent the mains cord from coming into
contact with hot surfaces.
Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
Unplug the appliance if problems occur during brewing and before you clean it.

This Philips appliance complies with all standards regarding electromagnetic elds (EMF). If handled
properly and according to the instructions in this user manual, the appliance is safe to use based on
scientic evidence available today.


1 Place the appliance on a at and stable surface.
2 Let the appliance complete one brewing cycle without a lter and ground coffee (see chapter
‘Using the appliance’).
3 Clean the detachable parts (see chapter ‘Cleaning’).
You can store excess cord by pushing it into the opening in the back of the appliance (Fig. 2).

Brewing coffee
1 Fill the water tank with fresh, cold water (Fig. 3).
The graduations on the left are for large cups (120ml) (Fig. 4).
The graduations on the right are for small cups (80ml).
2 Open the lter holder (Fig. 5).

3 Take a paper lter (type 1x4 or no. 4) and fold the sealed edges to prevent tearing and
folding (Fig. 6).
4 Put the lter in the lter holder (Fig. 7).
Note: Some versions come with a permanent lter. In this case you do not need to use paper lters.
5 Put ground coffee (lter-ne grind) in the lter (Fig. 8).
For large cups: use one heaped measuring spoon of ground coffee for each cup.
For small cups: use one level measuring spoon of ground coffee for each cup.
6 Close the lter holder. (Fig. 9)
7 Place the jug on the hotplate (Fig. 10).
8 Press the on/off switch to switch on the appliance (Fig. 11).
9 When all the water has passed through the lter, you can remove the jug from the
appliance (Fig. 12).
10 After you have poured coffee, put the jug with the remaining coffee back onto the hotplate
to keep it hot and to preserve its avour.

If you want to brew another jug of fresh coffee right away, switch off the appliance and let it cool
down for three minutes. Fill the water tank again and put a new amount of ground coffee in a new
paper lter (or in the permanent lter after emptying and cleaning it). Now you can make fresh
coffee again.

If you want to heat up coffee, you can place the jug in the microwave, even with the buffer ring
(HD7502 only) attached.

Drip stop
The drip stop system prevents coffee from dripping through the lter onto the hotplate when you
remove the jug from the appliance during or after brewing.
Protective buffer ring (HD7502 only) (Fig. 13)
The jug has a detachable buffer ring that helps prevent the jug from breaking.
Cleaning
Never immerse the appliance in water.
1 Unplug the appliance.
2 Clean the outside of the appliance with a moist cloth.
3 Detach the lter holder. (Fig. 14)
You do not have to remove the spring.
4 Detach the front of the lter holder. (Fig. 15)
5 Detach the buffer ring (HD7502 only) (Fig. 16).
6 Clean the lter holder, the jug and the buffer ring (HD7502 only) in hot water with some
washing-up liquid or in the dishwasher.

Regular descaling prolongs the life of the appliance and guarantees optimal brewing results for a
long time.
In case of normal use (two full jugs of coffee every day), descale the appliance:
2 or 3 times a year if you use soft water (up to 18dH);
4 or 5 times a year if you use hard water (over 18dH).
Contact your local water board for information about the water hardness in your area.
1 Fill the water tank with white vinegar (4% acetic acid). Do not put a lter and ground coffee
in the lter holder.
2 Let the appliance complete two brewing cycles (see chapter ‘Using the appliance’).
3 Let the appliance complete two more brewing cycles with fresh, cold water to remove any
vinegar and scale residues.
4 Clean the jug and the lter holder (see chapter ‘Cleaning’).

You can order a glass jug from your local Philips dealer or a Philips service centre.
Jug type HD7954/88 for coffeemaker type HD7502/88 or HD7500/88 (white/cornhusk yellow).
Jug type HD7957 for coffeemaker type HD7502/31 (lilac).

Do not throw away the appliance with the normal household waste at the end of its life, but
hand it in at an ofcial collection point for recycling. By doing this, you help to preserve the
environment (Fig. 17).


Klargøring
1 Stil apparatet på et jævnt og stabilt underlag.
2 Lad maskinen køre igennem en enkelt bryggeproces uden lter og kaffe (se kapitlet “Sådan
bruges apparatet”).
3 Rengør de aftagelige dele (se afsnittet “Rengøring”).
Overskydende netledning kan skubbes ind i åbningen på apparatets bagside (g. 2).


1 Fyld vandtanken med friskt, koldt vand (g. 3).

2 Luk lterholderen op (g. 5).
3 Tag et papirlter (type 1x4 eller nr. 4) og ombuk de forseglede kanter, så lteret ikke går itu
eller falder sammen (g. 6).
4 Sæt lteret i lterholderen (g. 7).
Bemærk: Nogle modeller leveres med et permanent lter. Er dette tilfældet, er det ikke nødvendigt at
bruge et papirlter.
5 Kom kaffebønner (beregnet til lterkaffe) i lteret (g. 8).
Store kopper: 1 måleske med top pr. kop.
Til mindre kopper: 1 strøget måleske pr. kop.
6 Luk lterholderen. (g. 9)
7 Stil kanden på varmepladen (g. 10).
8 Tryk på on/off-kontakten for at tænde for apparatet (g. 11).
9 Når al vandet er løbet gennem lteret, kan kanden tages væk fra varmepladen (g. 12).
10 Når kaffen er skænket, sættes kanden med den resterende kaffe tilbage på varmepladen for at
holde den varm og bevare aromaen.

Ønsker du at lave en ny kande frisk kaffe med det samme, skal maskinen først slukkes og afkøles i 3
minutter. Fyld derefter vandtanken igen og kom nye kaffebønner i et nyt papirlter (eller i det
permanente lter, efter det er tømt og skyllet rent). Herefter er kaffemaskinen klar igen.

Hvis du vil opvarme kaffen, kan kanden sættes i mikrobølgeovnen – selv med påsat kandeskåner
(kun type HD7502).
Funktioner
Drypstop-funktion
Drypstop-systemet sikrer, at der ikke drypper kaffe fra lteret ned på varmepladen, når kanden
yttes under eller efter brygningen.
Beskyttende kandeskåner (kun type HD7502) (g. 13)
Kaffekanden har en aftagelig kandeskåner, som beskytter kanden, så den ikke så nemt går i stykker.
Rengøring
Apparatet må aldrig kommes ned i vand.
1 Tag stikket ud af stikkontakten.
2 Apparatet rengøres udvendigt med en fugtig klud.

Du behøver ikke fjerne fjederen.
4 Tag fronten af lterholderen. (g. 15)
5 Tag kandeskåneren af (kun HD7502) (g. 16).
6 Rengør lterholderen, kaffekanden og kandeskåneren (kun HD7502) i varmt vand med lidt
opvaskemiddel, eller kom dem i opvaskemaskinen.
