2.1 Introduction
This manual describes standard Photonfocus MV4/MV8 Gpixel series cameras that have a 10
Gigabit Ethernet Copper (GT) interface. The MV4 cameras contain the CMOS image sensor
GMAX3265 from Gpixel and the MV8 cameras contain the CMOS image sensor GMX4651 from
Gpixel.
2.2 Camera Naming Convention
The naming convention of the MV4/MV8 Gpixel camera series is summarized in Fig. 2.1.

Prefix1 Camera platform and usage prefix. The following prefix are available for this camera
series: MV4 with form factor 59mmx59mm; MV8 with form factor 80mmx80mm

Sensor width Width of image sensor of the camera in pixels.

3.1 Introduction
The Photonfocus MV4 Gpixel GigE camera series is built around the CMOS image sensor
GMAX3265 from Gpixel. It provides a resolution of 9344 x 7000 pixels. The Photonfocus MV8
Gpixel GigE camera series is built around the CMOS image sensor GMAX4651 from Gpixel. It
provides a resolution of 8424 x 6032 pixels. The cameras series are optimized for low light
conditions. The cameras are aimed at standard applications in industrial image processing
where high sensitivity and high frame rates are required.
The principal advantages are:
• Resolution of 9344 x 7000 (GMAX3265) and 8424 x 6032 (GMAX4651)
• Optimized for low light conditions
