Intended Use
The posioner is a laboratory device as dened
by DIN EN 61010-1 or an incomplete machine as
dened by the Machinery Direcve (2006/42/
EG). It is intended for indoor use and use in
an environment that is free of corrosive and/
or electrically conducve acids, alkalines, oils,
vapors, and dust.
In accordance with its design, the posioner
is intended for posioning loads in one axis
at various velocies. The posioner is not
intended for applicaons in areas where failure
would be a considerable risk for people or the
environment.
The posioner is intended for operaon with a
horizontally aligned moon axis.
It is only possible to use the posioner as inten-
ded when it is installed and connected properly,
and when all measures described herein are ad-
hered to. The posioner is to be operated with
suitable electronics, and the thermal protecon
sensor built into the posioner's motor must be
evaluated and monitored.
The posioner may only be installed, operated,
maintained, and cleaned by authorized and
appropriately qualied personnel. The integra-
tor is responsible for complying with security
standards and the EMC direcve aer the
device is built in.
Installaon
The posioner contains permanent magnets.
Their magnec elds can disturb or damage
sensive devices and objects (e.g., heart pa-
cemakers, EC cards, magnec storage devices).
Loose magnezable objects (e.g., iron, steel)
could be aracted and cause material damage.
The magnec elds are also eecve when the
posioner is not connected or switched o.
XMake sure that people with heart pacem-
akers and / or electronic implants do not
have access to the posioner.
XRemove loose magnezable objects and
sensive objects from the area where the
posioner is to be installed.
XMake sure that the danger zone is marked
and the necessary precauons have been
taken.
Mechanical forces can damage or misalign the
posioner.
XAvoid shocks and drops.
XMaintain the maximum permissible forces
(see manual).
XThe calculaons must also include the
masses of posioners moved in mul-axis
systems.
XTransport the posioner with installed
transport safeguard only. Remove the
transport safeguard only when the posi-
oner is at the intended place of use.
Collisions can damage the posioner, the load
to be moved, and the surroundings.
XMount the posioner and the load so that
the load cannot get jammed or blocked, or
collide with objects in the workspace.
XPlace the cables and objects in the work-
space so that they cannot be seized by the
moon plaorm.
XMake sure that unintenonal moon is not
possible when changing the orientaon.
Cables will break from excessive bending or
squeezing. A broken cable will lead to failure
of the posioner or damage to posioner or
electronics.
XInstall the posioner so that the cable is not
bent or squeezed too strongly.
Incorrectly ed screws and locang pins can
cause damage to the posioner.
XChoose the lengths of the screws and
locang pins according to the depth of the
holes.
XDo not allow screw heads to protrude.
XDo not insert locang pins too deeply into
through-holes.
If the protecve earth conductor is missing or
not properly connected, touching the posi-
oner can lead to death from electric shock or to
severe injuries in the case of a malfuncon.
XConnect the posioner‘s base body to the
protecve earth conductor.
XPay aenon to the applicable standards
for the protecve earth conductor connec-
on.
