ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS—Pinnacle Tents Model 1014/912
1. Select a nice, clean, smooth, level camp site and
clear it of sharp stones or scks that could punc-
ture the oor of your new Pinnacle Tents canvas
tent. Face the door of the tent in the desired direc-
on. Stake one front corner of the tent oor and
then pull the opposite front corner taut but not
overly ght and stake down that corner. Repeat
this for the two back corners.
2. Locate and idenfy all the steel poles per the previ-
ous frame diagram drawing on page #2.
3. Insert the center pole assembly (poles #1/#2 and
#3) into the center roof pole sleeve of the tent.
Repeat this by inserng the right and le side poles
#1/#2 and #3 into the eave webbing loops on the
right and le side of the tent roof.
4. Aer all three roof poles are inserted and
aached, assemble the two upright telescoping
center poles #4 and #5 and #6 with #9. Insert the
upright center pole #4 into the elbow of the center
pole #3. Then push up the center of the tent being
careful not to over strain the canvas material. Re-
peat this procedure on the opposite side of the
tent.
5. Next, work on erecng one side (right or le) of the
tent. Assemble the two upright telescoping side
ridge poles #7 and #8 with #9. Insert the upright
side ridge pole #7 into the elbow of the side ridge
pole #3. Then push up the eave of the tent being
careful not to over strain the canvas material. Do
not apply too much tension that would lead to
damage the stake loops or roof eave pole loops or
cause the stakes to pull out of the ground. Repeat
this procedure on the opposite side of the tent.
Your Pinnacle Tents canvas tent should be standing
at this point and nal adjustments will be made
later.
6. Now your Pinnacle Tents canvas tent is standing
and may need some nal adjustments. First, check
the oor inside the tent and make sure there are no
large wrinkles. You may have to adjust the stake
locaons to smooth out the oor. Be careful when
removing the stakes from the ground that you pull
on the stake and NOT on the stake loop. Pulling on
the stake loop will overstress the seam and cause
damage. Now drive all stakes through the remain-
ing stake loops around the perimeter of the tent.
7. Next, look at the tension on the canvas roof and
make sure it has the proper slope for rain water run
o. If the roof sags below the level of the eaves of
the tent, water will pool on the roof and, if a large
amount of water collects, it could leak and collapse
the tent. Adjust the right and le eave poles by
adjusng the length of the telescoping upright
poles or by sliding the lower ends of poles #7/#8/#9
along the ground to make sure the side walls are
not loose and the roof does not sag. Make sure you
do not over stress the fabric too ghtly as this may
damage the fabric and seams.
8. Fasten the corners of the tent to the poles (D-Ring)
with the es but do not apply too much tension or
it may tear the seams.
9. You can also adjust the tension on the canvas roof
and make sure that it has the proper slope for rain
water run o by adjusng the height of the center
ridge poles. You may have to adjust the center
ridge pole heights to compensate for unevenness of
the ground, to make the center ridge level, and to
provide the proper pitch to the roof for water run
o.
10. Now that your Pinnacle Tents canvas tent is all set
up and adjusted, it is important to aach all the
included guy ropes at the locaons shown in the
frame drawing and photograph on page #2. The
guy ropes provide integrity for the structure of the
tent and keep the tent stable and prevent damage.
11. To dismantle the tent follow the above direcons
in reverse.
