USE
•Pleasereadthisoperatingguidethroughbeforeusing
yourspeakersystemsoyouwillknowhowtomakethe
mostofitsperformance.Afteryouhavefinishedreading
theoperatingguide,storetheguideina safeplace.You
willthenknowwhereitis,shouldyouwishtorefertoitif
somethingisunclearwhilethespeakersystemisbeing
used.
•Thenominalimpedanceofthisspeakersystemis6.3
ohms.
Connectthespeakerstoa stereoamplifierwitha
loadimpedancerangingfrom4 to16ohms(amodelwith
"4— 16"displayedonthespeakeroutputterminals).
•Inordertopreventdamagetothespeakersresultingfrom
inputoverload,pleaseobserve thefollowingprecautions:
•Donotsupplypowertothespeakersinexcessofthe
maximumpermissibleinput.
•Whenconnectingordisconnectingpin-plugs,besure
amplifierpowerisOFF.
•Whenusinga graphicequalizertoemphasizeloudsounds
overa highfrequencyrange,donotuseexcessive
amplifiervolume.
•Donottrytoforcea low-poweredamplifiertoproduce
loudvolumesofsound(theamplifier'sharmonicdistor-
tionwillbeincreased,andyoumaydamagethespeaker's
tweeter).
•Donottouchthespeakercones'reverberatingsurfaces
astheymaybedamagedbyexternalforce.
INSTALLATION
•Thesespeakersaremadeespeciallyforrightandleftside
use.
Onthebackoftheleft-sidespeakeryouwillfindan
"L"
andonthebackoftheright-sidespeakeryouwillfind
an"R".Theleft-andright-sidespeakersshouldbeplac-
edaccordingly,withreferencetothelistener'sposition.
(Dependingonparticularroomconditions,betterresults
maybeachievedfromtheoppositeplacement).
•Theideallisteningpositionisconsideredtobeat,or
slightlyabove,theapexofanequilateraltriangle,withthe
speakerslocatedatthebaseofthetriangle.
•Sincethisspeakersystemisa bookshelf-typesystem,if
thespeakersareplaceddirectlyonthefloor,thebass
registersmaybeoverlyemphasized,resultinginpoor
listeningquality.Ifthisoccurs,place thespeakersona
stand,
ora concreteblock,etc.Also,ingeneral,best
resultswillbeobtainedwhenthetweetersareonapprox-
imatelythesamelevelasthelistener'sears.
Cautionsregardinginstallation
•Donotplace speakersindirectsunlight,ornearheaters.
Thecabinetcolormaychange,orthespeakersthem-
selvesmaybedamaged.
•Rememberthatthisspeakersystemisquiteheavy,soitis
dangeroustoinstallitina highplace likeona wallorpillar
orinotherunstablelocations.
CONNECTIONS
1.
Settheamplifier'spowerswitchtoOFF.
2.
Connecttheaccessoryspeakercordstotheinputter-
minalsattherearofthespeakersystem;hookthered
cordtothe"+"terminalandtheblackcordtothe"-"
terminal.
Bearinmindthattheredinputterminalhasa
"+"
polarity,andtheotherterminalhasa "-"polarity.
3.Connectthespeakercordstotheamplifier'sspeakerout-
putterminals.Connecttheredcordtothe"+"terminal
andtheblackcordtothe"-"terminal.
Depresstheinputterminalknob,insertthetipofthecordin-
totheholeandthenreleasetheknobsothatitspringsback
intoposition.
NOTES:
•Make sure that the speaker cords are connected to the
terminals securely. Insecure connections may cause not
only sound to be interrupted and noise to be generated
but also the cords to be shorted and the amplifier to break
down.
•When listening to a stereo performance with the speaker
system connected to a stereo amplifier, you will find that
the bass is insufficient, the sound is not spread out and
there is no stereo effect if the cords of one of the speaker
systems have been plugged into the wrong polarity ter-
minals.
