BEFORE USE
Thank you very much for purchasing this PIONEER
product.
Carefully read this Operating Guide to properly use
your speaker system. After reading, keep the Operat-
ing Guide for reference during operation.
Rated impedance of this speaker system is 8 ohms.
Connect the speaker system to a stereo amplifier with
load impedance of 4 to 16 ohms (indicated 4 to 16
ohms for the speaker output terminals).
Follow these instructions to prevent damage to the
speaker system by excessive input:
e Do not input beyond the allowable limits.
* Turn off the amplifier power before connecting or
disconnecting the cords.
* Do not turn up the volume when increasing treble
with the graphic equalizer.

CONNECTING TO AMPLIFIER

Turn off the amplifier power switch. (POWER OFF)
Connect the speaker cords to the input terminals of
the speaker system. The speaker system is equipped
with two types of input terminals, screw-type input
terminal (banana plug available) and phone-jack ter-
minal.

All input terminals are connected in parailel.
For input use one of these terminals.

he speaker system is connected to the amplifier using
the speaker cords, The red input terminal is for the plus

+) cord wire and the black one is for the minus (-)
cord wire.
Remove cable insulation
to expose the wires and
twist together.

After cannecting the cords to the terminals, confirm
that the cords are firmly connected. Incomplete con-
nection will interrupt the sound or cause noise,
Accidentai contact of bare unshielded wires wilf cause
excessive load on the amplifier and damage to the am-
plifier and speaker system
An incorrect polarity (+, ~-) connection of the left or
right speaker to the amplifier will not provide sufficient
bass for rich sound, disabling the normal stereo effect.
® Pay attention to the synthetic impedance in the case of
paraliel connection. Extremely low impedance will
cause amplifier darnage.
3. If using an amplifier, as that for a musical instrument,
equipped with a phone jack as the output terminal,
use a commercially available standard cord with plug
to connect the speaker system,

4, Depending on the intended usage, more than one
speaker may be connected to each amplifier channel
to extend the service area. Follow the instructions in
the amplifier operating guide to prevent low synthetic
impedance on each channel. The rated impedance of
S-V7000 is 8 ohms.

NOTE:
The synthetic impedance is 4 ohms.

channel, the synthetic impedance will be 2.7 ohms or
jess, which may cause amplifier damage.

NOTES ON INSTALLATION —
PRECAUTIONS
*» A microphone placed close to the front of the speaker
will cause howling and damage ihe speaker. Pay atter-
tion to the position and direction of the speaker instaila-
tion to prevent the speaker sound from directly enter-
ing the microphone.
* Avoid a location exposed to sunlight or close to a heat-
er, as the speaker may be damaged or the speaker cabi-
net discolored.
* Do not stick adhesive tape directly to the cabinet as
the coated surface may be damaged.
USING THE SPEAKER SYS-
TEM SUSPENDED FROM THE
CEILING
* Improper installation is very dangerous and may cause
injury if the speakers should fail. Be sure to have a
specialist assemble and install the speaker system.
* Carefully check the ceiling before installation to can-
firm that it has sufficient strength to support the
weight of the speaker system. PIONEER is not liable
for any accident caused by the speaker system falling
due to insufficient installation strength or improper in-
stallation.
PIONEER is not liable for any accident or damage
caused by improper assembly or installation, in-
i sufficient installation strength, remodeling, incorrect
| use, or natural calamities.

CARE OF THE SPEAKER CABIi-
NET
« Lightly wipe off dust or dirt using a polishing cloth or
dry wiping cloth.
» \f very dirty, wipe using a soft cloth moistened with
neutral detergent diluted five times; then wipe off sur-
face moisture using a dry cloth. Do not use furniture
wax or cleaners which may dissolve or discolor the sur-
face,
* Note that paint thinner, benzine or insecticide spray
may dissoive or discolor the surface.
« If using a chemically treated dustcloth, carefully follow
the instructions attached to the dustcloth.
