1. Introduction
This Router is a highlyintegrated,cost-effective solution. All setup and provisioning is accomplished viaa

2. Knowing Your Router
When selecting the locationfor the Router,allowroomto access the connections on the rear panel. You will
want to place the Router sothat youwill beable to seethe LED indicators on the front panel. It maybe
convenient for youlocate the Router near the PC youintend to use for initial configuration ofthe Router.
2.1 Front Panel

2.2 RearPanel
The rear panel ofthe Router provides access to the power adapter cordconnection as well as theport
connections.

RESET button: The Router comes witharesetbuttonbuilt into the rear panel. Use this buttonto restore the
factorydefaultsettings. If you need to reset theRouter, press the reset buttonfor 2-3 seconds and then
release it. The ADSLLED will stopblinking temporarilyand then blinkagain in about 15 seconds. It means
the Router finish rebooting.

3. Login
There are twolevels ofaccess rights/privileges for the Router:
l Administrator: User name admin, the administrator account has completeread/write access on all
pages (Status, Configuration andAdmin Privilege).Admin account alsohas FTPserver access.
l User: User name user, theUser account has read/write access to pages under the Status and
Configuration sections.
The following stepswill enable you tolog into the Router:
1. LaunchtheWeb browser (InternetExplorer,Netscape,etc.).
2. Enter the LANport default IPaddress (default gateway) http://10.0.0.2 in the address bar.
3. Entryofthe username and password will be prompted. Enter the default login User Name and Password:
The default login User Nameofthe administrator is admin,and thedefault login Password is epicrouter.The
default loginUser Name for the non-administrator is user, and the default login Password is password.
4. Remembermy password checkbox: Bydefault,this box is not checked. Users can checkthis box so
that Internet Explorer will remember the User name and Password for future logins. It is recommended
to leave this box unchecked for securitypurposes.
Admin andUser passwordscan bechanged after login. Refer to Section 5.10 for User Password
configuration andSection 6.9 for Admin Password configuration for further instruction.

4. Status Pages
The links under the Status column are associatedwiththe pages thatrepresent the status ofsystem
(computer and Router) and interfaces (connections). This includes LAN, WAN, DHCP, PPP, andADSL status.
These pages canbe viewed and modified byboth user and admin accounts.
4.1 Home Page
The Home page shows thefirmware versions; LAN,WAN, and DHCPinterface status; and Ethernet
connection status.
Firmware Version: It is thedefaultversion number,which is not changeable.
Customer Software Version: It is theversion ofthe firmware that is controllable bytheADSL
Modem/Router manufacturer.
WAN and LAN: It displays the IPaddress, Subnet Mask and MAC address for the WAN (ADSL) and LAN
interface.
Total Number ofLANInterfaces: Itdisplaysthe total number ofavailable interfaces for the LAN interface.
The total number ofavailable interfaces is the amount ofcomputers that areable to hookup to the DHCP
Server.
Number of Ethernet Devices Connected to the DHCPServer: It displaysthe DHCPclient table with the
assigned IPaddresses andMACaddresses.
?Note
Ifthere are no devices connected to the DHCPserver,then a table will not appear, otherwise
a table listing all devices connected to DHCPserver will appear on the bottomofthe page.
Ethernet Link Status: It displaysthe linkup or down for the Ethernet connection(up ifconnected, down if
not connected).
USB LinkStatus (reserved function): It displays the linkup or down for the USB connection (up if
connected, downifnot connected).
