PLX Devices Inc. currently has issued patents and patents pending on the LED digital and
automatic focus, and intelligent battery metering hardware, rmware, and algorithms.
Each Luxor contains a Lithium Polymer (LiPo) battery. LiPo batteries are volatile.

shock, or product malfunction.
Luxor can become hot when operated at or near maximum output for extended periods of time.
Luxor’s head piece in particular can reach extremely high temperatures during such operation
and can become a burn hazard. Always use caution when Luxor is operated near maximum
output, and never leave Luxor unattended when running at or near maximum output.
Luxor uses high power LEDs that are capable of producing intense light. Never look
directly into the light or shine into another person’s eyes.
Luxor is not a toy. Do not allow children to operate or handle Luxor unsupervised.
Although Luxor is waterpoof, prolonged contact with water is not recommended.

Light modes selection
Luxor oers ve light modes that can be activated/deactivated based on user preference.
With Luxor’s OLED on, press and hold and buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds until the
following display appears:
Once in the light mode selection screen, pressing the or button will scroll through the
dierent light modes that can be activated or deactivated.
Press the button to activated or deactivated the light mode displayed on the screen.
Press the button once you are satised with your selection to exit the light mode selection
screen.
Light modes
Luxor has ve light modes: auto focus, virtual focus, strobe, beam+ood, and
beam+ood+lantern.
Autofocus:In auto focus mode, Luxor detects where it is being pointed and automatically
adjusts the focus of the light to deliver the best lighting for that application.
Virtualfocus:Virtual focus mode allows you to manually control the beam pattern of your
Luxor. While in virtual focus mode, hold the button down and rotate clockwise to narrow the
beam pattern or rotate counterclockwise to widen the beam pattern.
You can also adjust the beam by holding down the button down and pressing the button
to narrow the beam pattern or pressing the button to widen the beam pattern. Once the
desired beam pattern has been selected, the intensity can be adjusted by pressing the or
button.
Strobe:In strobe mode, four forward facing LEDs turn on and o at your desired frequency.
Adjust the frequency by pressing the or button.

Beam+ood:With all four front facing LEDs on, beam+ood mode is the most ecient way to
light up what lies ahead. Adjust intensity by pressing the or button.

Beam+ood+lantern:In beam+ood+lantern mode, all seven LEDs are on, allowing you to get a
maximum light output of 850 lumens. Adjust intensity by pressing the or button.

Intelligent OLED display
Shows the percent charge remaining and the actual capacity
remaining in mAh.
Shows the amount of time (days:hours:minutes) remaining until
Luxor becomes empty.
Shows the amount of time (days:hours:minutes) remaining until
Luxor becomes fully charged.
Shows the amount of light emitted in lumens and graphically
shows what percentage of maximum light output is being
emitted from each set of LEDs (beam, ood, lantern).
Shows the beam projecting performance in meters.
Shows the battery’s voltage, the amount of current in Amps be-
ing charged into or being consumed by Luxor, and the amount
of power in Watts Luxor is currently using.
Shows the health of your battery and charge mode. Luxor keeps
track of your battery’s wear and tear and its charging condition.
Shows the angle of the light being emitted in DFS mode and
graphically shows what percentage of maximum light output is
being emitted from each set of LEDs’ (beam, ood, lantern).

Luxor menus
Six dierent menus may be selected by the user on Luxor’s organic LED display. These menus
include battery percentage, time remaining, electrical, health & charge mode, throw, and
lumens.
Battery percentage: The battery percentage menu will display the remaining battery capacity
as a percentage of Luxor’s maximum battery capacity numerically and graphically. The remain-
ing battery capacity will also be displayed in mAh.
Timeremaining:In the time remaining menu, Time to Discharge, Time to Charge, or Fully
Charged will be displayed. During normal operation, the Time to Discharge will be displayed,
showing the amount of time left before Luxor needs to be charged. If Luxor is being charged,
the Time to Charge will be displayed, showing the amount of time Luxor needs to be charged to
reach full capacity. If Luxor has reached full capacity, Fully Charged will be displayed.
Electrical:The electrical menu contains the voltage, current, and power readings of Luxor’s bat-
tery. NOTE: If your screen is on but the LEDs are o, you should expect to see a low current of
0.05A or less.
Health&chargemode:The health & charge mode menu displays the condition (new, good, ok,
poor, bad, or replace) of Luxor’s battery, as well as which charge mode is activated.
NOTE: Please note that LiPo batteries operate better at lower temperatures.
Throw:The throw menu contains the distance in meters that the beam light is emitting.
Lumens:The lumens menu shows the total amount of light emitted in lumens. Additionally, the
Lumens menu graphically shows what percentage of maximum light output is being emitted
from each set of LEDs (beam, ood, lantern).
Charging your Luxor
1. Insert the USB male A end of your
charging cable into a USB power source.
2. If the waterproof tail cap is on, unscrew
the tail cap seal and remove the tail cap.
3. Connect the micro USB end of your
charging cable into Luxor’s micro USB
port.
NOTE: Luxor will still charge if it is o or
locked.

Changing your battery
1. Before changing your Luxor battery, always make sure that there is no moisture present
on or around your Luxor unit.
2. Unscrew the tail cap seal ring and remove the tail cap.
3. Disconnect the battery connector and
remove the battery.
4. Slide your new Luxor battery into the
battery compartment and connect the
battery.
NOTE: Be sure that your battery
connector is inserted with the correct
orientation.
5. Place the tail cap back into position,
making sure that it is correctly oriented
by aligning the micro USB opening with
the micro USB port.
6. While applying pressure on the tail cap,
screw the tail cap seal ring back on. Be
sure that the tail cap seal is completely
screwed onto the body of your Luxor.
NOTE: If your Luxor will not charge after
replacing the battery, conrm that the tail
cap is aligned properly and the tail cap
seal ring is completely screwed onto the body of your Luxor. If the tail cap is misaligned or
the tail cap seal ring is not screwed on completely, your micro USB cable might be unable
to be inserted completely, preventing your Luxor from registering a charge.
Charging other devices with Luxor - reverse charge
1. Make sure reverse charge mode is activated. Pressing &
holding the button for 3 seconds with Luxor on activates/
deactivates Reverse Charge.
2. Insert the micro USB end of your reverse charge cable into
Luxor’s micro USB port.
3. Insert the USB male A end of the charging cable into the USB
female A end of the reverse charge cable.
4. Connect the Micro USB end of the charging cable into your
other device.
Important Notes: Reverse charge will be deactivated if battery level is too low. When reverse charge
is on, maximum brightness levels of strobe, beam+ood, and beam+ood+lantern mode will be
reduced 75%, 75%, and 50% respectively to protect Luxor.
WARNING: DO NOT CHARGE LUXOR WHEN REVERSE CHARGE IS ACTIVATED.
LEDs on while using reverse charge can cause damage to Luxor and is not recommended.

Additional features
Lowbatteryindicator: Luxor has a low battery indicator that activates when your battery
is critically low. When you battery is low, all active lights will blink twice (every 30 seconds)
and a warning screen will display (every 6 seconds). All low battery indicators will be turned
automatically o once your battery reaches a safe charge level. Luxor’s LiPo battery can be
damaged if drained to a very low level.
Emergencylocator: Luxor automatically turns on during a power outage to let you know its
location.
1. Plug Luxor into a USB power source with your charging cable.
2. As soon as a power outage occurs, Luxor’s built-in processor detects the power outage
and turns on in a matter of seconds.
3. PIck up Luxor or press the button to exit emergency locator mode.
4. Emergency locator will turn o if left alone for 10 minutes to conserve power.

Storage
Battery Use and Safety
Luxor has been rigorously tested for condence in any environment. The guidelines below will
allow you to enjoy this product for years to come.
Luxor should be stored at room temperature in cool or shaded areas, ideally between 10°C
(50°F) to 25°C (77°F). For long term storage (over 3 months), the voltage should ideally rest
between 3.6V to 3.9V and the battery capacity should be between 50 - 80%.
Overdrain:To maximize the battery health try to keep LiPo batteries charged greater that 20%.
Draining LiPo batteries below 5% can be cause damage to the battery.
PhysicalDefects:Evidence of physical damage or swelling of Luxor’s battery indicates that there is a
dangerous problem with the battery that could lead to bodily injury, property damage, and product fail-
ure. If you believe the battery is damaged or needs to be replaced, contact technical support at
www.plxdevices.com for inspection and replacement information.
Exposuretoheat:Do not operate or store this product in or near a heat source, or under direct sunlight
for extended periods of time. Excessive heat can damage the battery, and may even cause the battery to
explode.
Never allow your Luxor battery to overheat at any time. Temperatures exceeding 45°C (113°F) for greater
than one hour can cause damage to the battery and may result in re. Always inspect to ensure that the
battery has not overheated, and do not reuse if you suspect it has been damaged in any way.
Exposuretoliquidormoisture: Avoid exposure of liquid or moisture to the internal components.
Liquids can negatively aect the internal components and electronics of the product, and moisture can
lead to corrosion. This may result in product malfunction, re, and/or electric shock.
Crashdamage:If the battery is damaged or punctured due to external force(s), quickly place the battery
in a safe, open area away from ammable materials for at least 15 minutes.
If the battery leaks electrolyte or gas vapors, do not inhale the leaked material. Leave the area and allow
the vapors to dissipate. Remove spilled liquid with an absorbent cloth and dispose the cloth.
If electrolyte from the damaged battery comes into contact with skin, wash the aected area(s) with
soap and water immediately. If electrolyte comes into contact with your eye(s), ush out with generous
amounts of water for 15 minutes and seek medical attention.
A battery that is physically damaged or punctured must be removed from service immediately with
special care. See Crash Damage under the Disposal section for the proper disposal process.

Disposal of your Luxor battery
Properdisposal:Proper disposal of your Luxor battery is an important aspect of product care
and safety. To properly dispose the product, follow your municipal battery disposal guidelines.
Visit your local electronics/hardware store for general instructions on proper disposal of mobile
electronic devices with LiPo batteries.

Be aware that dierent states might have dierent laws regarding proper disposal of electronics
and rechargeable batteries.
Crashdamage: Extreme care must be taken when handling or transporting a damaged battery
for disposal. It is best to place the damaged battery inside a reproof container until it can be
properly disposed.
PLX Devices, Inc. DOES NOT recommend disassembling the product and disposing/replacing the
battery on your own accord. Disassembly of the product or battery can be dangerous if
improperly handled.

5Troubleshooting
Problem turning on your Luxor
If you are unable to turn your Luxor on:
1. Charge your battery. Your Luxor may not turn on if the battery level is too low.
2. If your screen does not turn on when you plug it in to charge, remove the tail cap and
check to make sure the battery connector is completely clipped into place.
3. If you nd that the battery connector was connected, reset your Luxor (follow the
“Resetting Luxor” procedure on page 14).
Problem charging your Luxor
If you are unable to charge Luxor:
1. Check to see if the charging cable is working properly by using the same charging
cable to charge a dierent device, using the same power source. If the other device is not
charging, the charging cable or power source may be the problem.
NOTE: Make sure the power source provides constant voltage and constant current and
the charging cable is designed to charge LiPo batteries. Using an inappropriate charging
cable can be dangerous, and may result in product malfunction and re.
Once you have conrmed that you have a working cable and power source, try charging
your Luxor again.
2. If your Luxor will still not charge, perform a factory reset (follow the “Resetting Luxor”
procedure on page 14).

Resetting Luxor
If Luxor stops functioning properly, you may need to perform a factory reset on Luxor to regain
functionality.
Factory reset procedure:
1. With Luxor’s OLED on, press the button, button, and button simultaneously.
The following display should appear.
2. Continue holding the buttons for about 5 seconds until the following screen is displayed.
3. Press the button to restart your Luxor. Make sure to fully charge your Luxor until the
time remaining screen shows 0D:0H:0M FULLY CHARGED for the most accurate readings.

TERMS OF USE – PLX Devices Inc. does not guarantee product functionality with any third party device.
Implementation and integration of the PLX products with any other device(s) must be done at your own risk.
LIMITED WARRANTY – PLX Devices Inc. warrants this product to be free from defects for 1 year from the date of
purchase. If applicable, non-serviceable items are excluded from stated warranty. Serviceable goods must be deter-
mined by PLX Devices to be defective before any warranty or replacement is issued. PLX Devices’ obligation under
warranty shall be limited to repairing or replacing, under the discretion of PLX Devices, any part proven defective.
This warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of parts in the manufactured good and the necessary labor
done to aect its repair or replacement.
SERVICE UNDER WARRANTY – In the unlikely event that your PLX Devices hardware should fail during the warranty
period, a Return Material Authorization number (RMA) must be rst retrieved from PLX Devices Customer Support.

All serviceable goods must be packaged securely with proof of purchase, RMA number, with all shipping charges
prepaid and shipped to PLX Devices Inc. Goods returned under warranty must be received by PLX Devices Inc. with-
in (10) business days after the RMA number has been issued. Goods received after this period are subject to fees
for the service of repair or replacement. All repaired or replaced items shall be warranted for the remainder of the
original product warranty.
RETURNS AND RESTOCKING FEE – All returns must be within 30 days of receipt. A 15% restocking fee will apply
to applicable PLX Devices products returned for refund. All returns are to be packed in original condition including
packaging, documentation, manuals, and accessories. Returns that do not include all the accessories and
components may be returned to the customer or charged on a per item basis. The customer assumes responsibility
for product until receipt at PLX Devices Inc. Shipping via an insurable carrier is recommended. Any unauthorized
shipping charges will be billed to the customer or shipment will be refused.
DISCLAIMER – PLX Devices Inc. shall not be liable for direct, special, incidental, or consequential damages resulting
from any legal theory including, but not limited to, lost prots, downtime, goodwill, damage, injury to persons, or
