locking it in the relevant lever hooks (8A), then
wipe the surface again to collect the dirt. Proceed
rapidly and without pressing over the carpet, run-
ning the brush forward, backward and sideways
without pausing too long at the same point.
Treatment can be repeated as often as you like,
with no danger for the surfaces. The drying is almo-
st immediate. If the carpet is very dirty or saturated
with cleaning products, do not to insist too much.
Results will be evident only after a few uses of
Vaporetto.
• To clean stubborn stains, before cleaning as indi-
cated above, direct the steam directly onto the
stain with the greatest possible angle (never ver-
tically to the surface to be treated) and position a
cloth beyond the stain, in order to collect up the
dirt that has been “blown” away by the steam
pressure.
SMALL BRUSH (12)
To connect the small brush to the sheath or to
the extension tubes, first attach the lance (5) to
the small brush (12) so that the two arrows
found on the two components line up (Fig.8).
After this, insert the lance joint (13), turning it
until it is hooked into place with the accessory
(Fig. 9).
The small brush is used whenever the big brush is
too big or impractical to be used.
The small brush can be used for:
• furnishing fabrics (after testing on invisible parts-
see WARNINGS above at start of “TIPS FOR
BETTER UNIT PERFORMANCE”. DO NOT USE
ON DRALON, VELVET OR OTHER SIMILAR
PILE OR DELICATE SURFACES.
• small window surfaces
• tiles and other small surfaces
To clean wood (doorposts, floors etc) do not point
the steam directly but cover the big or small brush
with a double-folded cotton cloth.
For furniture cleaning direct the steam jet onto a dry
cotton cloth, and then clean with the cloth. The
warm moisture on the cloth traps the dust, spots
and the static electricity so that the furniture stays
clean longer as there is no detergent film for new
dust to stick to..
The following two accessories can be applied to the
small brush:
12A – Cloth for small brush: Fit the cloth over the
small brush and clean the surfaces to be treated.
12B – Window-cleaning tool for small brush:
Apply the tool to the small brush (without the cloth
(12A)) as shown in Figure 9. Window-cleaning is
carried out in two stages:
• Deliver of steam onto the surface to be cleaned,
by operating the steam delivery lever (4), to dis-
solve the dirt;
• Pass the window-cleaning tool over the surface
to remove the dirt, without delivering any more
steam.
LANCE (5)
To connect the lance (5) to the sheath or extension
tubes, first attach it to the lance joint (13). The lance
can be used to direct the flow of steam towards hid-
den corners that are difficult to reach with the steam
sprayer. It is ideal for cleaning radiators, door and
window jambs, sanitary fixtures and shutters. It is
an extremely useful and indispensable accessory.
The following accessories can be fitted to the lance:
6A – Curved tip for lance: suitable for reaching
even more inaccessible points, thanks to its curved
shape.
6B - Small round brush and 6C - Large round
brush - 6D) Brush with brass bristles: suitable
for removing caked dirt from very narrow surfaces
such as cooker burners, roller shutters, joints
between tiles, sanitary fixtures, etc.
Select the most appropriate brush, based on the
size and material of the surface to be treated.
To connect accessories 6A-6B-6C or 6D to the
lance (5), simply fit these accessories onto the tip of
the lance exerting a slight pressure (Fig.11).
STORING THE DEVICE
The device can be put away with the brush, tubes
and sheath housed in holsters (I) and (L) as shown
in fig. 12 and 13.The smaller accessories can be
stored inside the accessories compartment (H).
WARNING: Some HOT water may leak out of the
accessories mixed with the steam, especially when
the tank has just been filled, while carrying out the
cleaning operations and as a consequence of
movement of the device.
KALSTOP
Water by its nature contains magnesium, mineral
salts and other deposits which in hard water areas
can contribute to limescale build up in the tank. In
very hard water areas we recommend the use of
our Kalstop FP2003, a special natural-base decal-
cifier which inhibits and breaks down limescale.
This is a preventive against scale build-up and pro-
tects the metal walls of the boiler. Kalstop FP2003
can be found in small appliance stores, Polti ser-
vice centres and on the web site www.polti.com
