1 Beschreibung
Das SPM-S2C wandelt einen DVB-
S2 oder DVB-S Transponder in ein
DVB-C Signal um. Es können mehre-
re Programme mit dem integrierten
CI-Modul entschlüsselt werden.
Das Modul ist flexibel einsetzbar
und kann den verschiedensten
Gegebenheiten und Anforderungen
angepasst werden:
Durch die Möglichkeit einzelne
Programme auszublenden,
ist beispielsweise eine
sicherheitsbedingte Einschränkung
der Signalinhalte realisierbar.
Des weiteren beschleunigt die inte-
grierte automatische Auffüllung
mit Nullpaketen ("Bit stuffing") den
Programmsuchlauf der DVB-C Re-
ceiver.
Mit dem integrierten CI- Slot und ei-
nem CAM können mehrere Pro-
gramme gleichzeitig entschlüsselt
werden.
HINWEIS
Bitte beachten Sie, dass aufgrund
der Stromaufnahme in einer Grund-
einheit SPM 1000 nicht mehr als 8
SPM-S2C betrieben werden können.
1 Description
The SPM-S2T converts a DVBS2
or DVB-S transponder into a DVB-C
signal. It is possible to decrypt sever-
al programmes with the integrated CI
slot.
The module is flexibly applicable
and can be adapt to various
requirements and demands:
Due to the possibility of gating
serveral PID’s (Program Identifier),
a qualified safety conditioned signal
content is realisable.
In addition the integrated automatic
"Bit stuffing" accelerates the
scan mode of the DVB-C receivers.
With the integrated CI slot an a
CAM module, several programmes
can be encrypt.
NOTE
Please note, that only 8 SPM-S2C
can be used in one headend SPM
1000 simultaneously due to the pow-
er consumption.

2 Inbetriebnahme
Die Bestückung der Grundeinheit und
der Aufbau der Eingangsverteilung
erfolgt gemäß der dem Grundgerät
beiliegenden Anleitung.
Bei Bedarf Kartenleser in das Modul
einschieben und anschließend die
Smart-Card einstecken.

2 Putting into operation
The assembly of the base unit and
the construction of the entrance dis-
tribution takes place in accordance
with the user manual enclosed to the
base unit.
If needed insert card reader into the
module and afterwards plug in the
Smart-Card.

3 Programmierung der
Module
Nach der Bestückung der Grundein-
heit und dem Aufbau der Eingangs-
verteilung erfolgt zunächst die Pro-
grammierung der Grundeinheit ge-
mäß der jeweils beiliegenden Anlei-
tung.
Die anschließende Programmierung
der Module geschieht folgenderma-
ßen:
1. Programmierung der Module ge-
mäß des auf den folgenden Sei-
ten abgebildeten Programmierab-
laufs. Die Anwahl und Bestäti-
gung der Bedienschritte erfolgt
über die Tastatur unterhalb des
Displays.
3 Programming procedure
for the modules
After the assembly of the base unit
and the construction of the entrance
distribution, the base unit has to be
programmed in accordance with the
respectively enclosed guidance.
The manual programming of the
modules is carried out as follows:
1. Programm the modules in ac-
cordance with the program se-
quence shown on the following
pages. The selection and confir-
mation of the operating steps is
carried out via the keyboard be-
low the display.

dule, ist auf dem Modul ange-
geben.

4 Firmware Upgrade
Die Modul-Firmware kann durch das
Anschließen eines PCs über die
USB-Schnittstelle und der benutzer-
freundlichen PC-basierenden “S2C
Upgrade Software” aufgerüstet wer-
den.
Die zuletzt gespeicherten Modu-
leinstellungen bleiben trotz Firm-
ware Upgrade erhalten.

graded by using a PC through the
USB Interface and a user friendly
PC based software named “S2C
Upgrade Software”.
The last saved module configura-
tion is not modified by the firm-
ware upgrade.
