install the product.

PREPARATION
Before beginning assembly of product, make sure all parts are present. Compare parts with
package contents list and diagram above. If any part is missing or damaged, do not attempt to
assemble the product. Contact customer service for replacement parts.
Estimated Assembly Time: 20 - 25 minutes
Tools Required For Assembly (not included): Flathead screwdriver, Phillips screwdriver, Pliers,
Electrical tape, Wire cutters and three 60-watt max. candelabra-base bulbs or three 13-watt max.
candelabra-base CFL bulbs.
Helpful Tools (not included): Wire strippers, Ladder
INITIAL INSTRUCTIONS
1. Unfoldarmsofthexturebody(A)inplace.
Thread the bottom end of center stem (B) onto the
centernippleofxturebody(A).
2. Thread the bottom nipple at center of the shade
assembly (C) onto top end of center stem (B). 2

3. Thread column (D) onto the coupling at the center
of shade assembly (C).
1.a.Forushmountinstallation,screwthemounting
screws (LL) into the crossbar (CC) and thread
the small hex nuts (MM) onto the mounting
screws (LL). Secure the mounting screws (LL) by
tightening the small hex nuts (MM) against the
crossbar (CC).
1.b. Secure the crossbar (CC) to the outlet box (not
included) with outlet box screws (AA).

FLUSHMOUNT INSTRUCTIONS
2.a. Usingwirecutters(notincluded),trimthexture
wire and ground wire approximately 12 in. and
thenstripthecasting3/4in.fromendofwire.
2.b. Attachgroundxturewiretoeithergreenground
screw (JJ) screwed on crossbar (CC) or the
ground wire in the outlet box (usually GREEN or
BARE). If attaching to ground wire in the outlet
box, fasten together with a wire connector (EE)
and tightly wrap with electrical tape (not included).
ITISIMPORTANTTHEOUTLETBOXINYOUR
HOMEISPROPERLYGROUNDED.
2.c. Connect the neutral (WHITE or IDENTIFIED
side)xturewiretotheneutral(usuallyWHITE)
wire from the outlet box. Fasten wires together
with a wire connector (EE) and tightly wrap wire
connector (EE) with electrical tape.
2.d. Connectthehot(BLACKorPLAINside)xture
wiretothehot(usuallyBLACK)wirefromthe
outlet box. Fasten wires together with a wire
connector (EE) and tightly wrap wire connector
(EE) with electrical tape.

3. Raise column (D) up to the ceiling, aligning the
two holes in the preassembled canopy with the
mounting screws (LL) threaded on crossbar (CC).
Secure assembly with ball nuts (OO).

HANGING STYLE MOUNTING
1.a. For hanging installations, insert the short mounting
screws (NN) into the holes on the preassembled
canopy on column (D) and secure with ball nuts
(OO).
1.b. Threadxtureloop(E)ontothecouplingatcenter
of column (D).

HANGING STYLE MOUNTING
2. Removecanopyloopring(KK)fromcanopy
loop (GG). Thread mounting nipple (DD) into
the mounting hole of crossbar (CC) and secure
with hex nut (BB). Turn canopy loop (GG) onto
mounting nipple (DD) and adjust the other hex nut
(BB) in place. Fasten crossbar (CC) to outlet box
with outlet box screws (AA). Adjust the chain (HH)
to desired length by taking off unnecessary twist-
lock links (II). Slide canopy (FF) up chain (HH) and
hold tightly against ceiling. Slide canopy loop ring
(KK)upchain(HH)andthreaditontocanopyloop
(GG) to hold canopy (FF) against ceiling. Lace the
xturewiresthroughalternatingtwist-locklinks
(II).Attachxtureloop(E)tochain(HH)byK/D
rings(KK).Feedxturewiresthroughthebottom
opening of canopy loop (GG) and then through
mounting nipple (DD) and pull until taut.

approximately 6 in. from top of mounting nipple
(DD).Attachgroundxturewiretoeithergreen
ground screw (JJ) that screwed on crossbar
(CC) or the ground wire in the outlet box (usually
GREEN or BARE). If attaching to ground wire
in the outlet box, fasten together with a wire
connector (EE) and tightly wrap with electrical tape.

HOMEISPROPERLYGROUNDED.

TROUBLESHOOTING
