Introduction
About the Portsmith portDox Charging Dock
The Portsmith portDox for Samsung Tab Active (PSP5GTA) is a sophisticated system specifically designed
as a docking station and charging source for the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active tablet when used with its
protective cover. The PSP5GTA allows the Galaxy Tab Active to uniquely interface to power via pogo
pin pads thus reducing wear and tear on the micro USB connector.
A tablet with a completely discharged battery will take 4.5 –5 hours to fully charge if the tablet remains
powered off. However, the tablet may be charged either powered on or off.

12vdc 4.16A power supply. (Use this supply only. Use of a non-qualified supply may damage
the dock.)
Line cord –USA only. An IEC C13 line cord is required for rest of world.
Using the portDox Charging Dock
1) Attach the 12vdc 4.16A power supply to the dock and connect the line cord to the power supply and
an AC source.
The five Port Status LEDs on the front of the dock will momentarily flash RED indicating power is
applied.
2) Insert tablets into the slots in the dock
with screens facing the direction
indicated on the dock. Do not attempt
to place the tablets in the slot other
than indicated as it may damage the
pogo pins in the dock.
3) Within 3 seconds, the respective ports
LED will illuminate indicating the charge
status of the tablet.
GREEN –Tablet is charged (typically 99-
100%)
AMBER –Tablet is charging (occurs if
tablet is less than 98% charged)
RED Flash –Failure on the port. Tablet
is drawing excessive current. Remove
the tablet and reinsert. If the LED
continues to flash there is a fault with
the tablet.
