Method 2: WPS Automatic set-up
Use the WPS button on your internet modem/router to automatically connect your Wave to your
WiFi network. You can complete the following steps on a phone, tablet, laptop or computer.
*This method only works with routers that feature a “WiFi Protected Set-Up” (WPS) button.
1. Turn Wave on. Note: See page 2 for step by step instructions.
2. Raise the antennas on each side of Wave. Note: Raising the antennas will increase the range of
the WiFi extension.
3. Locate your internet router.
4. Click the WPS button on the side of Wave. Note: Once you have pressed the WPS button
on your Wave, the Wave stays active & waiting to connect to a router for two minutes. If no
router connects to the Wave within two minutes, the WPS button on the Wave will need to be
pressed again.
5. Press the WPS button on your modem/router. The Wave and the
router will securely communicate with each other and connect
automatically.
6. Open your phone’s WiFi settings.
7. You will know that the automatic set-up worked because you will see
the extended WiFi in the list of available networks. Note: The name
of the extended WiFi network will be the name of your WiFi with
“-2.4G-EXT” or “-5G-EXT” added to the end. (See screenshot)
8. Select your extended WiFi from the list of available networks.
9. Enter the password. Note: The password will be the same as your
original WiFi network’s password.
10. Now are connected to your extended WiFi network.
You can connect multiple devices to the extended WiFi. If you want to connect another
device to the extended WiFi, you simply select the extended WiFi from the list of available
networks on that device.
If the automatic set-up does not seem to be working as expected, check your router’s
manual to ensure you are performing the correct steps for WiFi Protected Set-Up.
