STRATA PARK
STRATA PARK PLANTERS
Strata Park planter units are the freeform version that can be used in a variety of configurations,
to facilitate the integration of plants into the office environment.
These planter boxes are also provided complete with moulded ABS pot liners that provide both
strong support for the potted plants and moisture protection.

liners in special circumstances. Please see following or contact Precision for further
information.

Park Configurations
Strata Park Planter units can be configured as straight runs, and also freeform units in ‘L’ , ‘Z’, &
‘U’ shapes, and many more as required. The height can also vary within a configuration by
simply stacking extra segments.
Straight Units
Strata Park Units can be configured as straight units in standard lengths of 900mm. These units
are configured as ‘straight stacked’, however brick patterning of the segments is also possible.
Longer units are also possible by configuring the segments in a brick pattern. Refer to Freeform
units on the next page of this document.
As shown above, when using 200mm (8”) diameter pot liners the 900mm wide top layer must sit
on top of a 900mm wide segment. This provides a 200mm high clear vertical opening within the
planter allowing the liners to sit without being obstructed by other layer components.
As an alternative, if 300mm (12”) diameter pot liners are required, each liner MUST sit within a
450mm wide top layer. In the case of a 900mm wide planter, as shown above, 2 x 450mm top
layers are required to house 2 x pot liners.
These rules MUST apply when designing a freeform unit also.

Freeform Units
Freeform units can be configured to almost any shape imaginable. In freeform units the carcass
segments are brick patterned. This brick pattern configuration is both aesthetically pleasing, and
also forms a structurally superior assembly.
The depth of Strata Park units is 450mm, and lengths are in 450mm increments. The minimum
length is any direction is 900mm. Each 450mm module accommodates 1 x 300mm (12”)
diameter pot and each 900mm module can accommodate 3 x 200mm (8”) diameter pots.
When configuring a unit, the plan view is on a 450 square grid. The actual segments are any
combination of 450 x 450 and 450x900 rectangles.
Theoretically, any length is possible in a freeform unit with the segments brick patterned.
Example Freeform Unit
Note that the unit is configured on a 450mm grid, using segments of 450 x 450 and 900 x 450.
Virtually any shape is possible on this grid pattern, using these segment sizes.
Also note that when using 200mm (8”) diameter pot liners, a 900mm top must be placed over a
corresponding 900mm segment to create a 200mm high block. 450mm wide tops MUST be
used if 300mm (12”) diameter pot liners are to be used (1 top for each liner).

Default Heights
The default height of a floor mounted park unit is generally 350mm high. This height consists of:
Default Height Base 50mm (40mm base + 10mm for adjustable feet)
Body 300mm (2 x 100mm mid segments + 100mm top segment)
---------------------
Total 350mm
When a seat cushion is required, another 100mm segment is added. The cushion also
protrudes 45mm above the steel segment; this therefore adds an additional 145mm to the
height of the unit which equals a total of 495mm.
Default Seat Base 50mm (40mm base + 10mm for adjustable feet)
Height Body 300mm (2 x 100mm mid segments + 100mm top segment)
Extra Segment 100mm (100mm top segment)
Cushion 45mm (cushion protrudes 45mm above top segment)
--------------------------------
Total 495mm
Segments can be stacked higher to create almost endless unit configurations.

Park Pot Liners
Pot Liners are specially designed to support the potted plants, and also provide moisture
protection by limiting the entry of water into the planter box. Pot liners are formed from strong
and rigid ABS material and overlap each other to assist excluding the entry of water into the
Park components. Pot Liners are available as standard to suit 200mm (8”) pot sizes, at 300mm
centres. Each 900mm wide top segment will accommodate 3 x pot liners.
Liners to suit 300mm (12”) pots are also available however these can ONLY be used within a
450mm x 450mm top segment. Combinations of 450mm wide top layers must be used where
300mm (12”) pot liners are required within a Park system
Note that each pot liner has a maximum load rating of 25kg.
