INSTRUCTIONS Form 4093-171A
©2023 National Presto Industries Inc.
This is a Listed appliance. The following important safeguards are recommended by most portable appliance manufacturers.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
To reduce the risk of personal injury or property damage when using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be
followed, including the following:
1. Read all instructions. Do not leave unit unattended while in use.
2. Popper cover/serving bowl must be in place before plugging unit in.
3. This unit pops with hot air. Do not place oil, shortening, butter, or margarine in the popping chamber. Use of these substances
will cause hazards and will damage the unit.
4. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
5. To protect against electrical hazards, do not immerse cord, plug, or popper base in water or other liquids.
6. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
7. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts and before cleaning
the appliance.
8. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or in the event the appliance malfunctions, or is dropped or damaged
in any manner. Return the appliance to the Presto Factory Service Department for examination, repair, or electrical or mechanical
adjustment.
9. The use of accessory attachments not recommended or sold by the appliance manufacturer may cause re, electric shock, or
injury. Use only genuine Presto®accessory attachments and replacement parts.
10. Do not use outdoors.
11. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter or touch hot surfaces.

Important Cord Information
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to
t into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not t fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not t, contact a
qualied electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk of becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. An extension cord
may be used if care is properly exercised in its use.
If an extension cord is used, the marked electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the
appliance. The extension cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by
children or tripped over unintentionally.
Connect the power supply cord to a 120VAC electrical outlet only.
Before First Use
• Become familiar with the popper parts (Fig. A) and read the
following instructions carefully.
• The popper is shipped with the base nested in the popper cover/
serving bowl. Lift the popper cover using the grip handle. Then
tilt the unit and remove the base from the cover.
• Wipe the popper base with a damp cloth. CAUTION! To prevent
electrical shock and damage to the popper base, never immerse
the popper base in water or other liquid.
• Wash the popper cover/serving bowl and serving bowl lid in
warm, soapy water; rinse and dry thoroughly. Do not wash in
the dishwasher.
How to Use
1. Unwrap the power cord from the popper base. Do not plug the
unit in until step 5.
2. For a full batch, ll the popping chamber with popping corn or
measure a level ¼cup and pour it into the popping chamber
(Fig. A). DO NOT OVERFILL. Overloading the popping
chamber may cause smoking and scorched corn.
If a smaller quantity is desired, you can pop as little as
2 tablespoons of popping corn.
WARNING! Do not place salt, seasoning, butter, margarine,
shortening, or microwave popcorn in the popping chamber as
this could damage the popper and cause a re hazard.
3. Place the cover/serving bowl over the popper base so the clear
cover handles align with the base handles.
4. Remove the aqua blue serving bowl lid to allow steam to vent during popping.
NOTICE: Failure to remove the lid will result in chewy popcorn and may result in melting of the lid and the cover vents.
5. Plug the unit into a 120VAC electrical outlet. Once popping starts, it will be completed in about 2 minutes. When you plug the
unit in and also during popping, you may notice popcorn chaff releasing from the popping chamber as a result of the hot air
blowing. This is normal.
6. At the rst sign that popping is slowing (about 1 to 2 seconds between pops), unplug the unit and snap the lid onto the cover/
serving bowl.
NOTE: Popcorn may scorch if the popper is not unplugged as soon as popping slows.
7. Hold the clear cover handles and popper base handles together and immediately ip the unit over. Lift the popper base off the
cover/serving bowl and set it aside.
CAUTION! Do not touch the popping chamber as it will be hot.
3
8. Add salt or seasoning to popcorn, as desired.
NOTICE: If using spray butter, transfer the popcorn to another bowl before applying the spray butter. Spray butter may damage the
cover/serving bowl.
Hint: Before adding salt or seasoning, lightly spray popcorn with no-stick cooking spray to add avor. Salt and seasoning will
also adhere better.
IMPORTANT: If popping consecutive batches, allow the popper to cool 1 minute between batches. Failure to do so may cause the
popper to shut off temporarily. If that happens, unplug the popper, snap the lid on, and ip the unit over. Lift the base off the serving
bowl and empty any popped or unpopped corn. Allow the unit to cool for 5 minutes and begin again with step 2.
How to Clean
1. Allow the popper to cool before cleaning.
2. Wash the cover/serving bowl and lid in warm, soapy water; rinse, and dry thoroughly. Do not wash in the dishwasher or scour
surfaces with steel wool or abrasive cleaners.
3. Wipe the popper base, including the popping chamber, with a soft, dry cloth to clean. Do not use steel wool or abrasive cleaners.
Occasionally clean the bottom of the rubber feet with a damp cloth to remove any dust or debris. Never immerse the popper
base in water or other liquid.
4. Wrap the cord around the bottom of the base (Fig. A, page 2) and place the base inside the cover/serving bowl for compact storage
(Fig. B).
Helpful Hints
• This popper is designed to pop regular and premium brands of popcorn. Try different brands to nd the one you like best.
Yellow popcorn generally pops into larger kernels than white.
• Some varieties of small and lighter weight kernel popcorn are not recommended for use with hot air poppers. Refer to any
additional instructions by popcorn manufacturer.
• Always use fresh popcorn for the best popping performance. Store popcorn in a tightly sealed container. Do not store popcorn in
a refrigerator or freezer as this can dry out the kernels quickly.
• If your popcorn does not pop well, it may be too dry. Try adding a little bit of water to the popping corn. Add 1 tablespoon per
quart of popcorn. Then place the corn in an airtight container and shake at frequent intervals until the popcorn has absorbed the
water. Wait for 3 or 4 days and then try popping the corn.
