Simply stated, your Filtration System works by moving the unfiltered tap water through one hose
into the carbon block Clean-Change Filter Cartridge to clean it. The filtered water then moves
through the second hose and exits through the smaller dedicated faucet opening on the side of
the Diverter Valve when the pin is pushed.

BEFORE SETTING UP AND USING YOUR SYSTEM, PLEASE REVIEW THE FOLLOWING:
• This Filtration System is engineered to filter municipally treated water in the home. It is
NOT for use with well water.
• Check the style of your kitchen faucet to make sure it is not a pull-out style spray faucet.
This System CANNOT be installed on pull-out style faucets. If you have a pull-out style
spray faucet, you will not be able to install this System.
• Not for use in certain areas of New York or New Jersey due to high levels of sediment in the
municipal water system; it will result in clogged filters.
• For use with COLD, potable water supplies only. This System is NOT for use with hot water;
be sure faucet is turned to cold before using.
• Read this manual completely before attempting to install this product.
• For this Filtration System to continue to perform as tested and represented, be sure to use only
genuine certified Vida Sana Clean-Change®Filter Cartridges from Princess House. These Cartridges
are exclusive to Princess House and are the only ones that will work in your System.
• Replacement Filter Cartridges may only be purchased from an authorized Princess House
Consultant or through the Princess House website princesshouse.com (U.S.) or princesshouse.mx
(México). Please contact your Princess House Consultant directly or Princess House Customer
Service at 508-823-6800(U.S.) or 800-265-0104 (México) if you need further assistance.
• Your Filter Cartridge capacity may vary from the rated capacity of 1,000 gallons (3,785 L). This
may be due to the concentration of contaminants or sediment present in your water supply.
• DO NOT allow the System to sit for extended periods of time without being used.
If the System must be left unused for more than 10 days, flush the System by running
water through it for 15 minutes prior to use. (Flushed water can be used to water plants.)
• Filtration System is for domestic household use only.
• Installation of this product must comply with all state and local laws and regulations.
Refer to your local agencies for details.
• DO NOT use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without
adequate disinfection before or after the System. Systems certified for cyst reduction may
be used on disinfected waters that may contain filterable cysts.
• Individuals requiring specific microbiological purity should consult their physician.
• This System must be protected from freezing. Failure to do so may result in damage to
System parts, loss of performance and water leakage.
• The contaminants or other substances removed or reduced by this Filtration System may
not be in all users’ water.
• Vida Sana™Refresh Filtration System is not available for sale in Iowa. State regulations
make it difficult for Princess House Consultants to sell water filtration systems in the state.

EASY SET-UP AND INSTALLATION
1. Open the packages which contain the Diverter Valve Assembly
and Faucet Adapter Kit. Follow the steps below before continuing
to unpack the box.
2. Unthread and remove the aerator from the end of your kitchen
faucet, if it has one. (A)
3. Check the style of your faucet to determine if the threads are on
the outside or inside and follow the instructions below to attach
the Diverter Valve Assembly to your style of faucet. NOTE: Make
sure the black O-ring remains inside of the Diverter Valve to
ensure a tight seal.
•Most kitchen faucets with external threads attach directly to
the Diverter Valve. In this case, thread the Diverter Valve onto
your faucet. Do not over-tighten. (B)
•If the threads of your kitchen faucet do not directly attach to
the Diverter Valve Assembly, use ONE of the three adapters
and white rubber washers provided. NOTE: The white rubber
washer MUST be used together with the adapter for a secure,
leak-free attachment. Place the washer inside on the TOP of
the adapter and thread to your faucet.
•If your kitchen faucet has external threads that are smaller
than the Diverter Valve, use the adapter with internal threads
and thread to your faucet. Next, thread the Diverter Valve
Assembly onto the adapter. (C)
•If your kitchen faucet has internal threads, select ONE of the
two adapters with external threads. Make sure the appropriate
size white rubber washer is placed inside the TOP of the adapter
and thread to your faucet. Next, thread the Diverter Valve
Assembly onto the adapter. (D)
•If your kitchen faucet does not have threads or does not fit
any of the adapters provided, please contact Princess House
Customer Service at 508-823-6800
(U.S.
)or 800-265-0104
(México)
.
4. Once the Diverter Valve is connected to your faucet, continue
to unbox the Filter System. Remove all packaging and place the
System on your counter.
5. Insert the Battery Module into the front of the System base. (E)
NOTE: Check that the battery is installed in the Battery Module
and didn't fall out during transit. Reinstall battery if needed.
DO NOT attempt to pull Battery Module out of System Base.
The PH flower logo on the front of the Battery Module/System
Base will flash BLUE five times to indicate that the Capacity
Counter in the System has been set to zero and the System is
ready to track the life of the Filter Cartridge.
6. Insert the elbow connectors on the Diverter Valve hoses into the
fittings on the System base. IMPORTANT: Insert the hose with the blue clamp into the blue
fitting (bottom) and the hose with the silver clamp into the gray fitting (top). (F)
You may want to secure the hoses to your faucet with the provided plastic tie fasteners to
keep them out of the way.

3. IMPORTANT NOTE FOR FIRST-TIME USE:Allow water to flow through the System and
flush for 15 minutes. This will remove any fine, black carbon particles left over from the
manufacturing process, expel trapped air and condition the
Filter Cartridge for normal use. (Drinking or cooking with this
water is not recommended, but it can be used to water plants.)
This flushing procedure must be repeated every time a new
Filter Cartridge is installed or whenever the System is unused
for more than 10 days.
4. To switch back to unfiltered water, push the Diverter Valve
pin to shut off water to the System and direct it back through
the main kitchen faucet. (I)
Visit our product page to find more information, product videos, and installation instructions at
princesshouse.com.
USING YOUR WATER FILTRATION SYSTEM
1. Turn on the kitchen faucet (cold water only) and push the
Diverter Valve pin to send water into the System. Water
will begin to permeate and fill the Filter Cartridge inside of
the System housing and exit through the smaller faucet on
the Diverter Valve. (G)
2. Once water begins to flow through the System, the PH flower
logo (located on the front of the System Base) will illuminate
and pulse BLUE, indicating peak operational performance. (H)
NOTE: The PH flower logo will illuminate whenever the
System is in use. This light serves as the System's Filter Life
Indicator and will change color based on the remaining
capacity of the installed Filter Cartridge:
BLUE: Cartridge is at peak operational performance
PURPLE: Cartridge is almost at its maximum rated capacity
and will need to be replaced soon (8% remaining)
RED: Cartridge has reached its maximum rated capacity
and needs to be replaced (100% usage)

WHEN TO REPLACE YOUR VIDA SANA CLEAN-CHANGE®
FILTER CARTRIDGE
The most important part of maintaining your Vida Sana™Refresh Filtration System is replacing the
Vida Sana Clean-Change®Filter Cartridge and battery on a regular service interval to ensure that
your System continues to perform as tested and certified.
REPLACE FILTER CARTRIDGE WHEN ANY OF THE FOLLOWING HAPPENS:
•The Filter Life Indicator Light (which illuminates the PH flower logo on the System Base) turns
RED, indicating that the rated capacity of the Filter Cartridge has been reached
•One year has passed since Filter Cartridge installation
•Flow rate slows down or stops completely
•Noticeable taste or odor recurrence
This System features a Filter Life Indicator Light which illuminates the PH flower logo located
on the front of the System Base. The logo illuminates BLUE in a "pulsing" motion to inform you
that the System is operating at peak performance. Once the Filter Cartridge reaches the last 8%
of its maximum rated capacity, the light will change to PURPLE, indicating that it's now time to
purchase a replacement Filter Cartridge if you haven’t already done so. Finally, the light will turn
solid RED, indicating that the Filter Cartridge has reached 100% of its maximum rated capacity
and a new Filter Cartridge should be installed.
IMPORTANT: If you experience a reduction in the flow rate of the water, you may need to
change your Filter Cartridge more frequently. This condition is typically caused by poor municipal
water conditions in your area and is not a defect in the Filter Cartridge.
Be sure to use only genuine Princess House®certified Vida Sana Clean-Change®Filter Cartridges.
These are the only replacement filters that have been tested and certified to ensure the performance
represented in the Performance Data Sheet. Filters can be ordered through your Princess House
Consultant or by calling Princess House at 508-823-6800 (U.S.) or 800-265-0104 (México).

•Your System does not require any specific cleaning. Simply wipe off the exterior occasionally
with a soft, damp cloth if necessary.
CAUTION: DO NOT use stainless steel cleaner, bleach or ANY abrasive materials on the System.
•DO NOT submerge the System Cover or System Base in water or place in the dishwasher, as
it may damage the System. The electrical and lighting components cannot be submerged
in water.
•The Vida Sana Clean-Change®Filter Cartridge is completely encased in plastic so debris and
contaminants never come into contact with the inside of the System Cover, making the
cleaning of the inside System Cover unnecessary.
•The Diverter Valve Hose does not need to be cleaned. The Diverter Valve Hose is available
as a replacement part that can be purchased should it become damaged in any way.
(See Parts on Page 4)
HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR WATER FILTRATION SYSTEM
REMOVING THE DIVERTER VALVE HOSE FROM YOUR SYSTEM
Should you ever need to replace the Diverter Valve Hose, a
specially designed Hose Removal Tool is included with your
System to aid in removing the hose connections from the back
of the System.
Simply use the provided Tool to press the fitting down (into the
System) while pulling the hose out of the System. (P)
NOTE: Save Tool for future use.
CLEANING THE DIVERTER VALVE INLET SCREEN
The System Diverter Valve comes equipped with an inlet-side screen designed to capture large
particulate matter and prevent it from entering the filter system. In areas with significant levels of
sediment in the water, the screen may fill up with debris and require occasional cleaning. If you
experience a reduction in flow rate, this may indicate that your inlet screen requires cleaning.
Simply remove the Diverter Valve from your faucet, then using
a small flathead screwdriver, remove the inlet screen from the
valve assembly. (Q)
Tap the screen on a flat surface to remove any excess debris and
rinse out with clean water. (R)
Reinstall the screen by pressing it back into the diverter assembly
then reconnect the diverter valve to your faucet.
If you continue to experience a reduced flow rate after the
inlet screen has been cleaned, your FIlter Cartridge may be
prematurely clogged due to excessive amounts of particles in
the water supply. Once a Filter Cartridge becomes clogged, it
must be replaced.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Water is leaking from the Diverter Valve.
Check the connection of the adapter to your faucet to make sure it’s threaded and tightened
correctly. You may need to disconnect and reattach.
Filtered water is flowing slowly from the System.
Excessive amounts of particles in the water supply may cause the inlet screen in the Diverter
Valve Assembly to fill up with debris. Follow the cleaning instructions on page 10.
If you continue to experience a reduction in flow rate after cleaning the diverter inlet screen,
your Filter Cartridge may be experiencing premature clogging do to poor water quality
conditions in your area. This condition may occur before the Filter Life Indicator Light turns
RED. Once a Filter Cartridge becomes clogged, it must be replaced.
The Filter Life Indicator Light is PURPLE.
Your Filter Cartridge is reaching the end of its maximum rated capacity and will need to
be replaced soon. Contact your Princess House Consultant, call Princess House Customer
Service at 508-823-6800 (U.S.) or 800-265-0104 (México), or visit princesshouse.com (U.S.)
or princesshouse.mx (México) to order a replacement Cartridge.
None of the provided Faucet Adapters work with my faucet.
Make sure you do not have a pull-out style faucet. The System will not work with pull-out style
faucets. If you do not have a pull-out style faucet and the adapters still do not fit, contact
Princess House Customer Service at 508-823-6800 (U.S.) or 800-265-0104 (México).
There are white spots from water on the Diverter Valve Assembly or System Cover.
White spots, scale and calcification are caused by beneficial minerals such as calcium,
potassium and magnesium. These can be cleaned easily by wiping with white vinegar and
a soft cloth. Never use bleach or abrasive cleaners.
