General instructions
• The products referred to in this manual
conform to the European Community
Directives and are therefore marked with .
• The unit is supplied with hazardous network
voltage (230V~). Leave servicing to skilled
personnel only. Never make any modications
on the unit not described in this instruction
manual, otherwise you will risk an electric
shock.
• Connection must be made to a power supply
system tted with ecient earthing (Class I
appliance according to standard EN 60598-1).
It is, moreover, recommended to protect the
supply lines of the units from indirect contact
and/or shorting to earth by using residual
current devices appropriately sized.
• The connection to the main network of
electric distribution must be carried out by
a qualied electrical installer. Check that the
main frequency and voltage correspond to
those the unit is designed for, as given on the
electrical data label.
• This unit is not for home use, only professional
applications.
• Never use the xture under the following
conditions:
- in places subject to excessive humidity;
- in places subject to vibrations or bumps;
- in places with temperature above 45°C or
below 2°C.
• Make certain that no inammable liquids,
water or metal objects enter the xture.
• Do not dismantle or modify the xture.
• All work must always be carried out by
qualied technical personnel. Contact the
nearest sales point for inspection or contact
the manufacturer directly.
• If the unit has to be put out of operation
denitively, take it to a local recycling plant
for a environmentally safe disposal.

• Il dispositivo funziona con pericolosa tensione di
rete (230V~). Non intervenire mai al suo interno
al di fuori delle operazioni descritte nel presente
manuale; esiste il pericolo di una scarica elettrica.
• È obbligatorio eettuare il collegamento ad
un impianto di alimentazione dotato di una
eciente messa a terra (apparecchio di Classe
I secondo norma EN 60598-1). Si raccomanda,
inoltre, di proteggere le linee di alimentazione
dell’unità dai contatti indiretti e/o cortocircuiti
verso massa tramite l’uso di interruttori
dierenziali opportunamente dimensionati.
• Le operazioni di collegamento alla rete di
distribuzione dell’energia elettrica devono
essere eettuate da un installatore elettrico
qualicato. Vericare che frequenza e tensione
della rete corrispondono alla frequenza ed alla
tensione per cui l’unità è predisposta, indicate
sulla targhetta dei dati elettrici.
• L’unità non per uso domestico solo per uso
professionale.
• Evitare di utilizzare l’unità:
- in luoghi soggetti ad eccessiva umidità;
- in luoghi soggetti a vibrazioni, o a possibili urti;
- in luoghi a temperatura superiore ai 45°C o
inferiori a 2°C.
• Evitare che nell’unità penetrino liquidi
inammabili, acqua o oggetti metallici.
• Non smontare e non apportare modiche
all’unità.
• Tutti gli interventi devono essere sempre e
solo eettuati da personale tecnico qualicato.
Rivolgersi al più vicino centro di assistenza
tecnica autorizzato.
• Se si desidera eliminare il dispositivo
denitivamente, consegnarlo per lo
smaltimento ad un’istituzione locale per il
riciclaggio.

Attenzioni e precauzioni per l’installazione
• Non eettuare mai una connessione diretta
tra la rete telefonica e il sistema di conferenza
CS500; servirsi di un accoppiatore telefonico.
• L’ambiente acustico e il posizionamento delle
unità inuiscono sul guadagno di volume mas-
simo ottenibile.
• Prima di iniziare qualsiasi operazione di manu-
tenzione o pulizia disconnettere l’unità dalla
rete di alimentazione.

-1- DESCRIZIONE E SPECIFICHE
TECNICHE
1.1 Introduzione
Il sistema di conferenza CS500 rappresenta la
soluzione ideale per conferenze, congressi e riu-
nioni. È composto da un’unità centrale, un micro-
fono “presidente” più un numero massimo di 49
microfoni“delegati”. Il sistema opera alimentando
soltanto l’unità centrale poiché fornisce alimen-
tazione e segnali audio ai microfoni mediante un
cavo multipolare; questo permette un’installazio-
ne facile e veloce. Tutti i cavi di connessione sono
inclusi.
1.2 Caratteristiche tecniche
CS500M
L’Unità Centrale del sistema gestisce i segnali
audio delle basi microfoniche ed eventualmente
quelli da/verso entrate/uscite ausiliarie e/o quella
telefonica.
• Alimentazione per 50 basi microfoniche.
• Selezione del numero di microfoni “Delegato”
attivi (da 1 a 4).
• Funzione per consentire un intervento “dele-
gato”per volta.
• Funzione prioritaria per l’intervento“Presidente”.
• Funzione timer di spegnimento automatico
sulle basi microfoniche “Delegato” inutilizzate
per 30 secondi.
• Funzione di riduzione del feedback.

-1- DESCRIPTION AND TECHNICAL
SPECIFICATIONS
1.1 Introduction
The CS500 Conference System represents the ide-
al solution for conferences, congresses and meet-
ings. It is composed by Central Unit, a Chairman
microphone plus a max number of 49 “Delegate”
microphones. The system, operates by power
supplying the Central Unit only. It in fact provides
to power supply and audio signals to the micro-
phones by means of a multicore cable, allowing
a fast and easy installation. All connection cables
are included.
1.2 Technical specifications

The Systems’ Central Unit manages the micro-
phones’signals or those coming from/to auxiliary
inputs/outputs, and/or the signals coming from
telephones.

• Selection of active delegate mics (from 1 to 4
simultaneously).

• President speech priority.
• 30 seconds timer turn o for unemployed mi-
crophones.

man’s speech.

Permette di selezionare il numero massi-
mo di microfoni “delegati” da attivare si-
multaneamente (1, 2, 3 o 4). Il microfono
deve essere acceso o spento manualmen-
te premendo il relativo tasto sull’unità
“delegato”.

MODALITÀ OPEN CON SPEGNIMENTO AU-
TOMATICO.
Permette di selezionare il numero massi-
mo di microfoni “delegati” da attivare si-
multaneamente (1, 2, 3 o 4). Il microfono
si spegne automaticamente se il diusore
non emette suoni per 30 secondi oppure
può essere spento manualmente premen-
do il relativo tasto sull’unità“delegato”.
MODALITÀ OVERRIDE.
Soltanto un microfono “delegato”può es-
sere attivato. Se un nuovo “delegato” pre-
me il tasto sul microfono, il microfono in
uso verrà spento.
MODALITÀ SOLO“PRESIDENTE”.
Soltanto le unità del “presidente”possono
essere attivate.
MODALITÀ TEST.
Per un corretto controllo dell’installazione
tutte le luci e i LED delle unità si illumine-
ranno se correttamente collegate.
4. CONTROLLO VOLUME dei diusori di tutte le unità
collegate (“presidente” e“delegati”).
5. CONTROLLO VOLUME del diusore o delle cue
dell’unità centrale.
6. PRESA JACK STEREO 3,5 mm per collegamento
cua.
7. USCITA 8 POLI: permette il collegamento “loop-
trough” delle unità “presidente” e “delegati”. Per
ogni uscita è possibile collegare no a 25 unità. La
lunghezza massima del cavo tra le uscite dell’unità
centrale e l’ultima unità del sistema è di 100 m.
8. INGRESSO XLR: per il collegamento di un microfo-
no esterno che può essere disattivato premendo il
relativo tasto sul microfono del“presidente”.
9. INGRESSO E USCITA RCA (Recorder): per il colle-
gamento con un registratore.
10. INGRESSO E USCITA RCA (Line): per il collegamen-
to di un sistema PA oppure di un’altra apparecchia-
tura audio.
11. INGRESSO E USCITA RCA (Telephone): per il colle-
gamento con partecipanti remoti.
Nota: anché siano evitati problematiche di feed-
back, il segnale di entrata del telefono all’unità cen-
trale non interferisce con quello di uscita.
12. INGRESSO E USCITA RCA (Insertion): permette
l’inserimento di un equalizzatore esterno per mi-
gliorare la qualità audio in condizioni di dicoltà
acustiche.
- Posizione“I”= senza equalizzatore;
- Posizione “O”= con equalizzatore (consente di
collegare un equalizzatore esterno nel percorso
del segnale del microfono al diusore del “presi-
dente” /”delegato”.
13. SPINA DA PANNELLO VDE: per il collegamento ad
una presa di rete (100-240V~/50Hz) tramite il cavo di
rete in dotazione.
OPEN MODE WITH AUTO SWITCH-OFF.
It’s permitt to select the maximum
number of delegate microphones to be

microphone automatically switches o
if the speaker does not speak for 30 sec-
onds. The microphone can manually be
switched o by pushing the button on the
delegate unit.
OVERRIDE MODE.
Only one delegate microphone can be
activated. If a new delegate presses his
microphone button, the microphone unit
of the current speaker will be switched o.
CHAIRMAN ONLY MODE.
Only the chairman units can be activated.
TEST MODE.
For proper installation check. All the light-
rings and LED’s of the connected units will
lit, if properly connected.
4. SPEAKER VOLUME CONTROL of all connected del-
egate and chairman units.
5. VOLUME CONTROL of the speaker or headphone
of the Central unit.
6. HEADPHONE CONNECTOR with 3,5 mm stereo
jackplug socket.
7. OUTPUT CONNECTOR (8 pin) for loopthrough
connection of the delegate and chairman units. To
each output a maximum of 25 units can be con-
nected. The maximum length of cable between the
outputs of the Central unit and the last unit in the
system is 100 m.
8. MICROPHONE INPUT with gain adjustment for
external microphone. The external microphone will
be muted when the priority button on the chair-
man unit is pressed.
9. RECORDER INPUT with gain control and recorder
output connection.
10. LINE INPUT AND OUTPUT for connecting a PA-
system or other audio equipment.
11. TELEPHONE COUPLER INPUT AND OUTPUT for
connecting a remote participant.
Note: the telephone input signal to the Central Unit
is not added to the telephone output signal from
the Central Unit to prevent line echo due to feed-
back.
12. INSERTION CONNECTOR to connect an external
audio equalizer for speech quality improvement
under dicult acoustic conditions:
- I position = without equalizer
- O position = insertion connection is internally
open, providing means to connect an external
equalizer in the path from microphone signals to
delegate/chairman loudspeakers).
13. VDE PANEL PLUGT this plug is connected to the
socket (100-240V~/50Hz) through the supplied
mains cable.

L’unità del“presidente” (B) ha la stessa funzione dell’uni-

20. PRESA JACK STEREO 3,5 mm per collegamento
cua (presente su entrambi i lati dell’unità).
Nota: l’inserimento del jack cua in una o entram-
be le prese disattiverà automaticamente i diusori
dell’unità.
21. USCITA 7 POLI: per il collegamento loop-through
all’unità successiva.
22. CAVO DI CONNESSIONE CON SPINA 7 POLI: per il
collegamento all’unità precedente oppure all’unità
centrale.
Nota: la lunghezza del cavo è di 2,15 m.
The chairman unit (B) has the same function as a del-
egate unit (A) with the exception of a‘priority’ button.
14. MICROPHONE with red illuminated indicator ring,
lights when the microphone is ON.
15. MICROPHONE ON/OFF push-button.
16. LED INDICATOR lights when the microphone is on.
17. VOLUME CONTROL for headphones only.
18. CHAIRMAN PRIORITY BUTTON when pressed it
emits chime tone, overrules/mutes all active micro-
phones of delegate units in the system.
19. BUILT-IN LOUDSPEAKER automatically muted
when the microphone is on.
20. 3,5 mm STEREO HEADPHONE SOCKETS, one at
each side for headphone.
Note: Insertion of a headphone jack in one or both
sockets automatically mutes the unit’s loudspeaker.
21. OUTPUT CONNECTOR (7 pin) for loopthrough
connection to the next unit.
22. CONNECTION CABLEWITH 7-PIN MALE CONNEC-
TOR for connection to the previous unit or Central
Unit.
Note: cable length is 2,15 m.

Collegare le unità dei “delegati” (A) e del “presi-
dente” (B) ai connettori a 8 poli (7) sul pannello
posteriore dell’unità centrale (g.3). Se necessario
usare una prolunga.
Connect the delegate (A) and chairman (B) units

2.2 Connessione ad un microfono/
radio microfono esterno
2.2 Connecting an external microphone/
microphone wireless microphone
Collegare il connettore del microfono esterno
all’ingresso XLR (8) dell’unità centrale posto nel
pannello posteriore. Regolare la sensibilità attra-
verso il relativo controllo GAIN.
Nota: usare solo microfoni con uscita bilanciata.
Il collegamento di un microfono senza li (g.4) si
realizza attraverso l’ingresso XLR (8) con l’attenua-
tore da 50dB. Questo modalità di collegamento
consente l’interruzione del microfono senza li
usando il tasto di priorità del presidente.
Put the external microphone connector in the mi-
crophone input (8) in the rear panel of the Central
Unit. Adjust the sensitivity using the GAIN con-
trol.
Note: use only microphones with balanced out-
put.
Connecting a wireless microphone (g.4) to the
external microphone input is possible with the
included 50dB attenuator. This way of connection
allows to interrupt the wireless microphone by
the chairman’s priority button.

Il collegamento di un registratore (g.5) si eet-
tua mediante l’ingresso e l’uscita RCA (9) posti sul
pannello posteriore dell’unità di controllo. Usare
il relativo controllo GAIN dell’unità centrale per
regolare la sensibilità dell’entrata del registratore.
2.4 Collegamento ad un sistema PA oppure ad
altra apparecchiatura audio
The connection of the cabling of the tape record-
er is possible through the recorder input and out-
put connector (9) on the rear panel of the Central
Unit (g.5). Use the GAIN control of the recorder
input of the Central Unit to adjust the sensitivity.

Il collegamento ad un sistema PA o ad altra ap-
parecchiatura audio (g.6) si eettua mediante
l’ingresso e l’uscita RCA (10) posti sul pannello
posteriore dell’unità di controllo. Collegare la sor-
gente audio all’ingresso Line; il sistema PA o altro
dispositivo all’uscita Line.
The connection of a PA system or other audio
equipment (g.6) is possible through the in and
output line connector (10) on the rear panel of
the Central Unit. Connect audio sources to the
line input, a PA amplier or other sound-process-
ing devices to the line output.

The connection a PA system or other external
equipment (g.6) is possible through the inser-
tion connector (12) on the rear panel of the Cen-
tral Unit. Put the insertion switch in position “0”
and connect the cablings to the insertion input
and output (12) of the Central Unit. Switch must
be in position “1” (loop through) if the insertion
input/output is not used.

Collegare l’accoppiatore telefonico all’ingresso
e all’uscita RCA (11) posti sul pannello posterio-
re dell’unità di controllo (g.7). L’accoppiatore
telefonico è poi collegato alla presa telefonica a
muro e ad un telefono. Il collegamento ad una
rete telefonica deve essere eettuato mediante
un accoppiatore telefonico, poiché permette un
isolamento adeguato tra la rete telefonica ed il
sistema CS500.
Attenzione: non eettuare in nessun caso un
collegamento diretto tra la rete telefonica ed il
CS500.

Connect the telephone coupler to the telephone
input and output (11) of the Central Unit (g.7).
The telephone coupler is further connected to
the telephone wall socket and a telephone for di-
aling. A connection to a telephone network must
always be made via a telephone coupler that pro-
vides adequate isolation between the telephone
network and the CS500 system.
Caution: Never try to make a direct connection
between the telephone network and the CS500.

Premendo il tasto microfono (15) su un’unità del
“presidente”, si attiva sempre il microfono del
“presidente”, indipendentemente dalla posizione

Nota: le unità del “presidente” non si disattivano
automaticamente.

Pressing the microphone button (15) on a chair-
man unit, it always activates the chairman mi-
crophone, regardless the selected microphone
mode.
Note: Chairman units don’t switch o automati-
cally (g.11).
3.4 Using the priority button
Pressing the priority button of the chairman unit
“B” will be indicated by a chime tone and will de-
activate all active delegate units “A” and activates
the chairman microphone (g.12). Releasing of
the button will either leave the delegate units de-
activated or activates them again (depending on
priority mode settings).
Premendo il tasto PRIORITÀ dell’unità del “presi-
dente” verrà attivato il microfono e, un segnale
acustico indicherà la disattivazione di tutte le uni-

Each time a delegate presses the microphone
button on a delegate unit, it will override the
currently active delegate unit. So, in this way,
only one delegate microphone is active at the
same time. Chairman microphones can always be
switched on.
3.8 Chairman only mode
Ogni volta che un nuovo “delegato” preme il ta-
sto del microfono (15) sulla relativa unità, questo
si sovrapporrà all’unità del “delegato” in uso. In
modo che soltanto un microfono del “delegato”
risulterà attivo. Il microfono del “presidente” può

Turn the volume control (4) on the top panel to
set the volume of the loudspeakers of the del-
egate and chairman units. Adjust for maximum
level without feedback. In the“0”position all loud-

volume dei diusori delle unità dei“delegati”e del
