ISTRUZIONI DI SICUR ZZA IN D TTAGLIO.
Acqua ed umidità:
L’apparecchio non deve essere utilizzato in prossimità di acqua (per es. vicino a vasche da bagno, lavelli da cucina, in prossimità di piscine ecc.).
Ventilazione:
L’apparecchio deve essere posto in modo tale che la sua collocazione o posizione non interferisca con l’adeguata ventilazione. Per esempio, l’apparecchio
non deve essere collocato su un letto, copri-divano, o superfici simili che possono bloccare le aperture di ventilazione, o posto in una installazione ad
incasso, come una libreria o un armadietto che possono impedire il flusso d’aria attraverso le aperture di ventilazione.
Calore:
L’apparecchio deve essere posto lontano da fonti di calore come radiatori, termostati, asciuga biancheria, o altri apparecchi che producono calore.
Alimentazione:
•L’apparecchio deve essere collegato soltanto al tipo di alimentazione descritto nelle istruzioni d’uso o segnalato sull’apparecchio.
•Se la spina in dotazione non combacia con la presa, rivolgersi ad un elettricista per farsi installare una presa appropriata.
Messa a terra o polarizzazione:
•Si devono prendere precauzioni in modo tale che la messa a terra e la polarizzazione dell’apparecchio non siano pregiudicate.
•Le parti metalliche dell’apparecchiatura sono collegate a massa tramite il cavo d’alimentazione.
•Se la presa utilizzata per alimentazione non possiede collegamento a massa, rivolgersi ad un elettricista qualificato per fare collegare l’apparato a massa
tramite il terminale.
Protezione del cavo di alimentazione:
Il cavo di alimentazione elettrica deve essere installato in modo che non venga calpestato o pizzicato da oggetti posti sopra o contro, prestando particolare
attenzione a cavi e spine, prese a muro.
Pulizia:
•uando l’unità deve essere pulita, è possibile eliminare la polvere utilizzando un getto d’aria compressa o un panno inumidito.
•Non pulire l’unità utilizzando solventi quali trielina, diluenti per vernici, fluidi, alcol, fluidi ad alta volatilità o altri liquidi infiammabili.
Periodi di non utilizzo:
Il cavo di alimentazione dell’apparecchio deve essere staccato dalla presa se rimane inutilizzato per un lungo periodo.

Ingresso di liquidi o oggetti:
Si deve prestare attenzione che non cadano oggetti e non si versino liquidi nel corpo dell’apparecchio attraverso le griglie.
Uso sicuro della linea d’alimentazione:
•uando si scollega l’apparato alla rete tenere saldamente sia la spina che la presa.
•uando l’unità non viene utilizzata per un periodo prolungato, interrompere l’alimentazione estraendo la spina dalla presa dell’alimentazione
•Per evitare danni alla linea d’alimentazione dell’apparato, non mettere in trazione il cavo d’alimentazione e non utilizzare un cavo attorcigliato.
•Per evitare il danneggiamento del cavo d’alimentazione dell’apparato, assicurarsi che questo non venga calpestato o schiacciato da oggetti pesanti.
Spostamento dell’unità:
Prima di ogni spostamento, verificare che l’unità sia spenta. Il cavo d’alimentazione deve essere estratto dalla presa, così come i collegamenti dell’unità con
altre linee.
Non smontare l’unità:
Non tentare di smontare né riparare da soli l’unità. Per qualsiasi problema non risolvibile con l’aiuto del presente manuale, rivolgersi a un tecnico qualificato
o consultare la nostra compagnia. ualsiasi uso non appropriato può causare incendi o scosse elettriche.
Malfunzionamenti:
•Non tentare mai di eseguire riparazioni diverse da quelle descritte nel presente manuale.
•Contattare un centro di servizio autorizzato o del personale altamente qualificato nei seguenti casi:
- uando l’apparato non funziona o funziona in modo anomalo.
- Se il cavo d’alimentazione o la spina sono danneggiati.
- Sono penetrati oggetti estranei o è stato versato del liquido nell’apparecchio.
- L’apparecchio è stato esposto alla pioggia.
- L’apparecchio non sembra funzionare normalmente o presenta un evidente
cambiamento nelle prestazioni.
- L’apparecchio è caduto, o il corpo è danneggiato.
Manutenzione:
L’utente non deve tentare di riparare l’apparecchio al di là di quanto descritto nelle istruzioni di funzionamento. Ogni altra riparazione deve essere affidata a
personale specializzato.
IMPORTANTI NORM DI SICUR ZZA:
•Installare seguendo le istruzioni.
•Il voltaggio d’alimentazione dell’unità è abbastanza elevato per evitare il rischio di scosse elettriche, non installare, collegare o sconnettere
l’alimentazione quando l’apparato è acceso.
•Non aprire mai l’apparecchiatura: all’interno non esistono parti utilizzabili dall’utente.
•Se si avverte uno strano odore proveniente dall’apparato, spegnerlo immediatamente e sconnettere il cavo dell’alimentazione.
•Non ostruire le griglie di ventilazione dell’apparato.
•Evitare che l’unità lavori in sovraccarico per tempo prolungato.
•Non forzare i comandi (pulsanti, controlli, ecc.)
•Avvitare completamente i terminali a vite degli altoparlanti per garantire la sicurezza dei contatti.
• Per ragioni di sicurezza, non annullare il collegamento a massa della spina. Il collegamento a massa è necessario per salvaguardare la sicurezza
dell’operatore
•Utilizzare unicamente i connettori e gli accessori specificati dal produttore.
•L’apparato deve essere collocato in un rack metallico (vedi INSTALLAZIONE) e tenuto lontano da:
Luoghi umidi.
Esposizione diretta a fonti di calore (come luce solare).
Luoghi non sufficientemente ventilati.
•In presenza di temporali con fulmini o quando l’apparato non è utilizzato, estrarre la spina d’alimentazione dalla presa.
• Per prevenire il rischio di incendi e scosse elettriche, è necessario tenere l’apparato lontano da spruzzi e gocce. Sopra l’apparato non devono
essere collocati vasi o altri oggetti contenenti liquidi. In caso si verifichino interferenze nel circuito di provenienza, il valore di THD sarà superiore al 10%.
Non installare questo apparato in una libreria o in altri luoghi a spazio ristretto

2. D SCRIZION
La BM101 è una postazione microfonica da tavolo preamplificata per annunci paging, gestita da microprocessore e dotata di un
compressore microfonico. Dispone di un generatore di chime configurabile a due o tre toni e di una gestione intelligente della
modalità prioriry nel caso più basi vengono connesse sullo stesso bus. L’uscita audio è bilanciata, isolata a trasformatore. L’uscita
può essere selezionata tra livello MIC e livello LINEA e il guadagno può essere regolato dall’apposito trimmer. Infine, il suo elevato
livello di uscita la rende particolarmente idonea in caso di collegamenti molto lunghi all’amplificatore.
Il collegamento di una o più basi all’amplificatore avviene su cavo UTP Cat.5 (o superiore), intestato con spinotti RJ45.
Sul pannello superiore sono presenti:
Per mettere in servizio la postazione microfonica occorre prima innestare il microfono nell’apposito connettore sul pannello
superiore.

Sul pannello posteriore sono collocati il jack per l’alimentazione ausiliaria e due connettori RJ45 che portano le connessioni del
bus audio, del contatto priority ed eventualmente l’alimentazione generato dall’amplificatore o dalla centrale audio.
La tabella qui sotto riporta la mappatura dei connettori:

NOTA: pin 7 e 8 fanno capo a un contatto pulito e isolato dalle masse di
sistema
I due connettori RJ45 sono internamente connessi PIN to PIN, pertanto il collegamento verso l’amplificatore può avvenire su uno
qualunque dei connettori.
In caso più postazioni siano connesse sullo stesso bus, i due connettori serviranno per connettere una base all’altra.

4. CABLAGGIO ALL’AMPLIFICATOR
Nel cablare la base microfonica agli apparati esterni tramite le porte RJ45, occorre tenere sempre presente che tutti i collegamenti
di massa sono in comune, ovvero i pin 3, 4 e 6 sono collegati in modo solidale.
In Fig.1 viene illustrato il collegamento della uscita audio a dispositivi (mixer, amplificatori, etc…) che hanno ingressi non bilanciati.
La massa audio (RJ45 Pin 3) viene collegata al corpo del jack, mentre l’uscita + (RJ45 Pin 1) viene collegata al TIP del jack. uando
si effettua un collegamento non bilanciato, l’uscita audio – (RJ45 Pin 2) deve rimanere non connessa.

In Fig.2 viene illustrato il collegamento della uscita audio a dispositivi (mixer, amplificatori, etc…) che hanno ingressi bilanciati con
connettore XLR Cannon.

In Fig.3 viene illustrato il collegamento di un alimentatore esterno.

In Fig.4 viene illustrato il collegamento a BUS tra più basi microfoniche. Il collegamento sarà effettuato pin-to-in. In particolare, il
pin 6 consentirà di gestire la funzione priority in modo intelligente: quando una postazione impegna il bus, tutte le altre vengono
inibite.

In Fig.5 viene illustrato il collegamento della linea priority all’amplificatore. Nel caso della connessione a bus, i contatti di tutte le
basi saranno collegati in parallelo sulla medesima linea Priority-Amp.

In Fig.6 viene riportato il pinout convenzionale del plug RJ45 a cui si è fatto riferimento in tutte le precedenti figure e tabelle. La
BM101 è progettata per l’abbinamento con cavi CAT5 (o superiori), anche non schermati e per lunghezza massima di 200 metri.

Sul pannello posteriore della postazione microfonica è presente un jack di ingresso per l’alimentazione. uesto può essere
utilizzato in alternativa ai pin 4 e 5 dei connettori RJ45 per alimentare la base.
Collegare un adattatore 12V o 24V 1A con il positivo sul pin centrale e il negativo all’esterno.

5. CONFIGURAZION D UTILIZZO D LLA POSTAZION MICROFONICA
Sul fondo dell’involucro è presente un pozzetto coperto da un tappo che può essere rimosso attraverso due viti. All’interno del
pozzetto sono presenti:
Il Dip-Switch imposta le modalità di funzionamento della postazione microfonica secondo la tabella qui sotto:
SW – 1
Selezione modalità tasto chiamata:
ON – Push To Talk
Premendo il tasto di chiamata, viene aperto il canale audio, viene riprodotto il chime e il led
passa da verde a giallo. Il canale audio rimane aperto finche’ il tasto rimane premuto.
Rilasciando il tasto, il canale audio viene chiuso.
OFF – Latch
Premendo il tasto una prima volta, viene aperto il canale audio, viene riprodotto il chime e
il led passa da verde a giallo. Rilasciando il tasto, il canale audio rimane aperto.
Premendo una seconda volta il tasto, il canale audio viene chiuso e il led ritorna verde.
SW – 2
Selezione Priority
ON – Priority attivo
uando la funzione priority è attiva, e nel caso in cui più basi siano collegate in daisy-chain
sul bus, la singola postazione riconosce se un’altra ha già impegnato la linea.
Se la linea è impegnata, il led di stato passa da verde a rosso a indicare che la linea è
occupata. In questa condizione, premendo il tasto di chiamata, la base rimane inattiva e
non impegna la linea. La linea potrà essere nuovamente impegnata quanto il led di stato
diventa verde. uando la postazione impegna la linea, viene chiuso il relè del priority.
OFF – Priority non attivo
Disattivando la funzione priority, la BM101 impegnerà il bus audio, indipendentemente
dallo stato della linea priority. In questo caso, il relè della linea priority viene comunque
chiuso durante la chiamata.

Utilizzare questa modalità quando la BM101 viene collegata a un ingresso microfonico.
Regolare entrambi i trimmer (microfono e chime) sulla BM101 per un bilanciamento
ottimale tra chime e voce. Regolare quindi il guadagno dell’ingresso microfonico sul
mixer/amplificatore per ottenere le migliori prestazioni in termini di qualità del suono e
rumore di fondo.
OFF – Livello Linea
Utilizzare questa modalità quando la BM101 viene collegata a un ingresso LINEA.
Regolare entrambi i trimmer (microfono e chime) sulla BM101 per un bilanciamento
ottimale tra chime e voce.

2. G N RAL D SCRIPTION
The BM101 is a preamplified gereral announcement and paging microphone calle station who’s features are managed by a
microprocessor. For a better speech intelligibility, the unit has a compressor in the amplification path. The unit has also an
embedded chime generator and smart priority management in case several stations are connected to the same bus. The audio
output is balanced and transformer coupled. The output level can be selected between MIC and LINE and the gain is regulated by
a dedicated trimmer. Finally, its high output level makes the BM101 the best choice in setups with a very long cable length to the
amplifier.
One or several BM101 stations are connected over a standard UTP Cat.5 (or higher) cable with RJ45 ending.
The top panel of the unit houses:
Once the unit is out of the box, first install and lock the gooseneck microphone in its dedicated connector on the top panel.

The real panel houses the auxiliary supply input jack and two RJ45 connectors that carry the audio bus, power supply from the
amplification rack and the priority links.
The table here below shows the pinout arrangement of the connectors

Both RJ45 connectors are internally pin to pin connected. The connection to the amplifier rack or to other BM101 units may be

4. WIRING
When wiring the BM101 call station, please always consider that ground connections are in common. Specifically, pins 3, 4 and 6
are connected together inside the unit.
Fig.1 shows an unbalanced connection to the amplification unit (mixers, amplifiers, etc…)
The audio ground (RJ45 Pin 3) is connected to the sleeve of the jack and the hot (+) signal is connected to the tip. The cold (-)
signal output has to be left unconnected on the RJ45plug.

Fig.2 shows a balanced connection to the amplification unit through an XLR Cannon connector.

Fig.4 shows the link between several BM101 call stations. These are pin to pin connected but the two RJ45 connectors may be
considered, the first as an input from another BM101 and the second as an output to the other BM101. In case of several bus
connected call station, only one will be wired to the amplification rack.
Notice that what several BM101 are bus connected, pin 6 will implement a smart priority management: when one call station
performs a call, all other stations will be inhibited until the bus is released.

Fig.5 shows the priority connection to the amplification rack. In case of several bus connected BM101, all priority contacts will be
paralleled to the same amplifier input (i.e. the first BM101 that performs a call will close the contact.)

Fig.6 shows the standard pinout of the RJ45 plug. The BM101 call station was designed to operate with CAT5 (or higher cables)
and with a maximum 200m length.

The jack on the backpanel may be us to power the unit in case no power supply is available from the audio rack to pins 4 and 5 of
the RJ45 port.
Connect a 12V to 24V 1A adapter with the positive +Vcc on the tip.

5. CONFIGURATION AND US OF TH CALL STATION
On the bottom of the unit, a hatch can be accessed by removing the cover. Inside the hatch the following are identified:
The Dip-Switch configures the call station according to the table here below:
SW – 1
Call button mode:
ON – Push To Talk
When the call button is pressed, the chime is played, the microphone is engaged, and the
led turns yellow. The call is performed as long as the call button is kept pressed. When the
button is relased, the call is stopped, the audio is relased and the led gets back to green.
OFF – Latch
The call button is pressed and released once, the chime is played, the microphone is
engaged, and the led turns yellow. Even if the button is released, the call is being performed
as long as the call button is pressed back again; this will stop the call, relase the bus and get
the led back to green.
SW – 2
Priority selection:
ON – Priority is enabled
This feature is implemented when several BM101 are bus connected. Every call station is
able to sense if another unit is performing a call. As long as one call station is performing a
call, all other units will be inhibited: pressing the call button will do nothing and the led will
glow red indicating the bus is busy. When the led gets back to green, the bus has been
released and a new call can be performed.
Each time a call is performed, the priority contact is closed.
OFF – Priority is disabled
When the priority feature is disabled, the BM101 will take over the bus independently of
status of the priority lines. In this condition a call will be performed in any case (the priority
contact will be closed) even if another call stations has previously taken over the bus.

Set this switch to ON in case the BM101 is connected to a microphone input. Ajust both
microphone gain and chime trimmers to have a good banance between speech and chime.
Then, adjust the preamplifier gain to achieve the best performance in terms of audio
quality and background noise.
OFF – LIN gain out
Set this switch to OFF if the BM101 is connected to a line input of the audio equipment.
Adjust microphone gain and chime volume accordingly.
