Software & Device Driver Installation
Do not attach the FiBO device until all software and device driver
installations are complete!
Software Installation
1. Double-click the FiBO Code™ icon to open the FiBO Code™ Installer
Windows User Account Control requires you to authorize the installation of the software on the
computer.
2. Click Yes to open the installation program for the FiBO Code™.
3. Click Next > to begin the FiBO Code™ installation.
4. Click I Agree to accept the terms of the Software End User Licensing Agreement
5. .Choose the Install Location for the software. The default is indicated under the Destination
Folder. If you wish to change the installation location, select Browse… and select the preferred
location.
6. Click Next > to continue the installation process.
7. Choose the Start Menu Folder. PROMET International\FiBO Code™ 3.0 is the default location.
You can type in a different name for the folder, if preferred.
8. Click Next > to continue installation.
9. Verify the locations from the previous steps. Click Install to continue. If you want to make
changes, click < Back to return to the previous screen and enter your change.
10. To create a desktop shortcut, click Next >. If you do not want a desktop shortcut, uncheck the
box and then click Next >.

11. To complete the FiBO Code™ installation, click Finish. The application will be installed and the
desktop shortcut created.
With installation complete, you can access FiBO Code™ from the desktop shortcut.
12. Double-click the FiBO Code™ desktop shortcut to access the FiBO Code™ software
The first time you run FiBO Code™ you will see an error message regarding missing runtime files. Exit
the application and restart FiBO Code™ to update the application.
Device Driver Installation
The FiBO device requires that two device drivers, specific to FiBO, be installed prior to first usage.
There are two drivers to install.
To begin the driver installation,
1. Double-click the FiBO Code™ desktop shortcut to open the application.
2. Select View, Preferences.
3. From the Preferences options, select Install FiBO Driver.
Because this is a FiBO device specific driver, you will be prompted during installation to allow changes
to your computer.
4. Select Yes to begin the first driver installation.
5. Click Next > to begin the Device Driver installation.
The FiBO device drivers are not Windows drivers so you will be asked to allow the installation. As there
are two drivers, this request will appear again after the first driver installation is complete.
At each prompt,
1. Select Install this driver anyway.
With the driver installation complete, you will be prompted to complete the process and close the
installation wizard.
2. Click Finish to complete the installation and close the wizard.
With the installation wizard complete, you will see a screen message acknowledging the successful
installation.

Setting Up FiBO
1. Connect FiBO directly to the computer
using the supplied USB cable. FiBO
must have a dedicated USB 3.0 port.
Do not use a USB hub.
2. Plug the A end of the cable into a USB
3.0 compliant port.
3. Plug the B end of the cable into FiBO
4. Note that demo/older FiBO systems
may use USB 2.0
Calibration
In order to have proper measurements, the FiBO hardware must be calibrated using the included set of
three calibration targets.
Do not touch the surface of the central portion of the alignment
target. It is delicate and can easily be damaged.
Order of Calibration
The order of calibration for the FiBO 200 is as follows:

Measurement Setup
1. Select the appropriate adapter (e.g., FC, FC/APC, ST, SC, 1.25mm, 2.5mm) for your application.
2. Place the adapter onto the kinematic mount. Confirm the alignment arrow is facing away from
the front of the FiBO

3. Insert the connector completely into the adapter. If applicable, align the key to the adapter’s
keyway.
