ACCESSING THE VEPLAYER
CONNECT USING WINDOWS PC
These steps walk you through setting a Windows PC to a Static IP address, to allow an Ethernet connection with
the unit on its default IP address of 192.168.1.169.
1. Connect your PC to the Network Port of the VEPLAYER unit via Ethernet cable.
2. On your PC, in the Control Panel, open Network and Sharing Center (Network and Internet for
Windows 8 and above)
3. Once you have Network and Sharing Center open, click on “Change adapter settings.”
4. Right Click on your Local Ethernet connection and click on “Properties.”
5. Once the Ethernet Properties are open click on, “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4),” and click
on, “Properties.”
6. In the Properties, select “Use the following IP address” and set the static IP: 192.168.1.100.
7. Click OK.
You are now ready to connect.
CONNECT USING MAC OS X
These steps walk you through setting a Mac running OS X to a Static IP address, to allow an Ethernet connection
with the unit on its default IP address of 192.168.1.169.
1. Connect your Mac to the Network Port of the VEPLAYER unit via Ethernet cable.
2. From the Apple menu, select System Preferences, then select Network.
3. Select Ethernet.
4. From the Configure IPv4 menu, select Manually.
5. Enter the IP address 192.168.1.100.
6. Enter the Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0.
7. It is not necessary to enter DNS or Router.
8. Click Apply.
You are now ready to connect.
LOGIN TO THE UNIT
On your connected computer, open an internet browser (i.e. Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox, Chrome), and
navigate to the FACTORY DEFAULT IP address of 192.168.1.169.
DEFAULT CREDENTIALS: User = admin Password = admin
If you change log-in credentials and those changes are lost, you can reset the VEPLAYER by pressing for 10
seconds the reset button located on the rear panel. This resets ALL settings, including the IP and Log-in info.

CONTROLLING THE UNIT VIA WEB INTERFACE
STATUS SCREEN –SHOWN ON INTIAL LOG IN
System Status:
•Runtime: Total time since unit was powered on.
•CPU Usage: Current CPU usage, in % of total capacity.
•Mem Usage: Current memory usage.
•Output Format: Shows video output resolution and frame rate.
•Decode Wndnum: Shows window display type
o1: Single Screen
o4: Quad Split Screen
Channel Info:
•Address: Current source address of video stream.
•Status: Playback status of source video
oNormal: VEPLAYER is playing source video normally.
oAbnormal: VEPLAYER is NOT playing source video. Check that you are using the
correct video source address, and that the source is active and of a supported format.
•Frame Rate (fps): Shows current video frame rate, in frames per second.
•Code Rate (kbit/s): Shows current video bitrate, in kilobits per second.
If using Quad Split Screen, each “Channel” will show its own status information.

ADDRESS SETTING
Define video source addresses and single screen/quad split.
Decode Wndnum: Choose number of playback windows.
•1: Single Screen –Displays one video.
•4: Quad Split Screen –Displays 4 videos, one per quadrant of screen.
Channel Addr: Input video stream source address. Example address input formats:
•Multicast: udp://@(address):(port)
•MPEG-TS: http://(address)/(filename).ts
•HLS: http://(address)/(filename).m3u8
•RTSP: http://(address)/(filename)
•FLV: http://(address)/(filename).flv
Audio: Enable/disable audio.
Cache (ms): Set video cache, from 0 up to 4000 ms.
If Quad Split Screen is enabled, each quadrant will display its own “Channel” for address input, audio
control, and cache.
TO SAVE CHANGES: CLICK “SET UP”.

SYSTEM SETTINGS –NETWORK
Customize IP address used to access this device. Select by clicking System Setting, then Network
Setting.
DHCP: Enable or Disable DHCP
•Enable: Device obtains IP address, etc. from your network.
•Disable: Set IP address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, DNS server manually.
IP: Set IP address for this device, if DHCP is disabled.
Mask: Set Subnet Mask for this device, if DHCP is disabled.
Gateway: Set Default Gateway for this device, if DHCP is disabled.
MAC: Displays MAC address of this device.
DNS: Set DNS server address, if DHCP is disabled.
TO SAVE CHANGES: CLICK “SET UP”.

SYSTEM SETTINGS - PASSWORD
Define log in credentials for the device. Select by clicking System Setting, then Password Setting.
To change the Password, enter the existing password in the Old PWD field, then enter the new
password into the New PWD field twice, then click MODIFICATION to save the change.
If you change log-in credentials and those changes are lost, you can reset the VEPLAYER by pressing
for 10 seconds the reset button located on the rear panel. This resets ALL settings, including the IP
and Log-in info.

SYSTEM SETTINGS - SYSTEM OUTPUT
Define video output parameters. Select by clicking System Setting, then System Output.
HD Output: Set resolution and frame rate of the HDMI/SDI output. Check the “Same as input source”
box to have the output automatically match the source input.
CVBS Output: Set CVBS output format, PAL or NTSC.
Rotate: Allows you to rotate output image by 90, 180, or 270 degrees.
Scaling: Enable or disable scaling to match display resolution.
Brightness: Adjust brightness, on scale of 0 –100.
Contrast: Adjust contrast, on scale of 0 –100.
Hue: Adjust hue, on scale of 0 –100.
Saturation: Adjust saturation, on scale of 0 –100.

SYSTEM SETTINGS –OSD SETTINGS
Set up an on screen text overlay, up to 4 at a time. Select by clicking System Setting, then OSD
Settings.
Each “Region” defines a text overlay section. Up to 4 regions can be enabled at a time.
Status: Enable or disable this OSD region.
Type: Set to Text, Image, or Rolling Text (vertical rolling)
X/Y: Set the Vertical and Horizontal positioning of this region. X = 0, Y = 0 is the top left corner of the
display.
LOGO Preview: If using Image OSD type, this shows the selected logo image. Click on the image to
upload a new image. Requires 200x200 px BMP format image.

Position: If using Roll Text OSD type, this sets the X (Horizontal) position of the OSD.
Speed: If using Roll Text OSD type, this sets the rolling speed.
Text: Enter the text that will be visible on this OSD region.
Font Size: Set the font size of this block of text.
Background Color: Set the background color of the block of text.
Font Color: Set the font color of this block of text.
TO SAVE CHANGES: CLICK “SET UP”
SYSTEM SETTINGS –CROP SETTING
Crop the image to only view a specific part. Select by clicking System Setting, then Crop Setting.
This feature is currently under development.

SYSTEM SETTINGS –SYSTEM UPDATE
Allows you to view the current software version, and perform software updates. Select by clicking
System Setting, then System Update.
NOTE: Only perform this function as directed by PVI technical support staff, using software and
instructions provided by PVI. Updating improperly may damage the device and void your warranty.
SYSTEM SETTINGS –RESET DEVICE
Use to reset device settings to factory default. Select by clicking System Setting, then Reset Device.

NOTE: Clicking RESET restores all settings to factory default, including the device IP address, this
cannot be undone. To access the web interface after reset, use the default IP address 192.168.1.169,
password: admin.
SYSTEM SETTINGS –REBOOT DEVICE
Use to restart the device remotely. Select by clicking System Setting, then Reboot Device.
Click REBOOT to restart the unit. This is a simple restart, no settings will be lost.
