Warnings:
Driving: use of stereo headset covering both ears while driving is not permitted in many
countries and many states in the USA. Please ensure you comply with local law and drive
safely. If you are driving in difficult road conditions then please park the car in a suitable
place before using your mobile phone.
Excessive noise exposure: Using Bluetooth® headsets at high volume levels can damage
your hearing. The risk to hearing damage increases substantially when listening to high
volume levels for extended periods of time. The VQ660 headset has digital sound level
monitoring and alert technology to maximise your hearing protection. The User Exposure
Alert (UEA) feature constantly calculates the overall sound output through the headset
speakers and gives a warning (an alert) when the average daily exposure through the headset
reaches a pre-defined level. The warning is in the form of a notification with a short message.
The message is repeated every 5 minutes until the UEA feature is either acknowledged or
deactivated by the user.
Notes:
Other Qstik products, such as the AS360 USB dongle, referred to in this user guide are
available for sale at the time of launching the VQ660 headset. Such products may
subsequently be out of stock or obsolete.
Looking after your headset:
Your headset is manufactured to the highest standards for comfort and durability. You can
extend the life of your headset by taking the following steps:
If you are not using your VQ660 headset for a period of time, then ensure your
headset is powered off and stored in a safe and dry place.
Avoid exposing your headset to extreme conditions including very high temperatures
such as direct sunlight in a car; very low temperatures (-10°C/14°F); or continuous
exposure to moisture or high humidity. Such conditions can shorten battery life,
degrade performance and adversely affect the operation of your headset.
Do not submerge your headset in water or expose your headset to heavy rain.

Please note some mobile phones (services) or some music devices (including some
applications on the PC may not support all the features available on your VQ660 headset.
The operation of buttons on the Qstik VQ660 is designed to be intuitive and easy to
remember. The buttons perform different functions depending on how long and how many
times you press the buttons as shown in the following table:
Action Method
Once Press momentarily and release
Twice Press twice repeatedly
2 seconds Press and hold for 2 seconds
5 seconds Press and hold for 5 seconds
10 seconds Press and hold for 10 seconds
(Only used to delete all pairing data)
2. Charging your headset
Please ensure your Qstik VQ660 headset is on charge for at least 4hours before first use.
Subsequent charges should take approximately 3hours. Use only the USB cable (or mains
charger) provided with your headset.
Connect the charger cable to the mini-USB charging socket on your headset first (see Figure
above) before connecting the USB cable to your PC/Laptop (or connecting the mains charger
to the wall socket). The indicator light on your headset turns to solid Red when the headset is
charging, and turns off when the battery is fully charged.
You can use your headset for listening to music or telephony while your headset is on charge.
In this case the headset will charge at a slower rate than normal.
2.1. Low battery warning
A slow flashing Red light indicates when your battery is low and needs re-charging. When
the Red light starts flashing, the headset has approximately 15 minutes talk time (or music
streaming time) remaining.

3. Powering your headset
Press and hold the MFB (multi-function button) for 2seconds to turn the headset ON. The
headset is ready for use when the status indicator light flashes Blue 3times repeatedly. If you
are wearing the headset, you will hear a beep when the power turns on. The status indicator
then continues to flash Blue every 3seconds to confirm your headset is “ready-to-use”.
Press and hold the MFB for 5seconds to turn the headset OFF. The headset will be switched
off when the status indicator flashes Amber. If you are wearing your headset, you will hear a
beep when it turns off. The status indicator light then remains off.
4. Pairing your headset
Your headset can be paired with several Bluetooth®-enabled devices such as mobile phones,
MP3 players or other music devices, but cannot simultaneously interact with more than one
device at a time when using telephony profile or music streaming profile. Your headset
prioritizes the telephony function over the music, automatically switching to the phone when
you make or receive a call. Once the call has ended, the headset reverts back to music
automatically.
4.1. Pairing your VQ660 with a mobile phone
•Start with your headset turned off. Press and hold the MFB for 5 seconds until the
indicator light flashes Amber repeatedly confirming your headset is in pairing mode. You
have about 2minutes to complete the pairing process. You can end pairing mode at any
time by pressing the MFB momentarily.
•Set your Bluetooth®-enabled mobile phone to discover the Qstik VQ660 headset and
complete the pairing process by following the instructions in your phone user guide.
These are normally found under “Bluetooth® > Setup > Add device > Connect” menus.
•Your phone should find your headset and display the name “QstikVQ660”. Select and
accept your headset. If asked for a PIN or passkey, enter “8888”.
•On successful pairing, the indicator light reverts to flashing Blue every 3seconds to
confirm your headset is “ready-to-use”. If paired and successfully connected with your
mobile phone, all voice communications will be diverted through the Bluetooth®
interface to your headset. If pairing was unsuccessful then repeat the steps above.
4.2. Pairing your VQ660 with a music device or PC/Laptop
Once paired with your mobile phone, you need to pair the headset with your music device
such as Bluetooth®-enabled MP3 player or Bluetooth® stereo adaptor for your PC/Laptop.
Pairing with a music device uses the A2DP and the AVRCP profiles, which enables high
quality music streaming to your headset as well as remote control features. This is only
possible if the music streaming device and application support these profiles.
You can use your VQ660 headset with your PC/Laptop for Voice over IP (VoIP)
communication or listening to high quality stereo music by using an A2DP-compliant
Bluetooth® USB adapter (dongle) and software, such as Qstik’s AS360 USB dongle.

indicator light flashes Amber repeatedly confirming your headset is in pairing mode. You
have about 2minutes to complete the pairing process. You can end pairing mode at any
time by pressing the MFB momentarily.
•Set your Bluetooth®-enabled music device (MP3 player or Bluetooth® stereo adaptor) to
discover the Qstik VQ660 headset and complete the pairing process by following the
instructions in your device user guide regarding pairing/connecting a second device.
•Your music device should find your headset and display the name “QstikVQ660”. Select
and accept your headset. If asked for a PIN or passkey, enter “8888”.

5.3. Music streaming functions
Your Qstik VQ660 stereo headset is A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) and
AVRCP (Audio Video Remote Control Profile) compliant. The A2DP profile is designed for
high quality stereo music streaming via Bluetooth®. For best performance your music source
device and application must also support A2DP and AVRCP profiles. Ensure your headset is
paired and connected with your music streaming device.
How to… Method

and c) your music source such as your PC/Laptop is simultaneously supporting several
Bluetooth® devices.
5.4. VQ660 special feature – User Exposure Alert
Using Bluetooth® headsets at high volume levels can damage your hearing. The risk to
hearing damage increases substantially when listening to high volume levels for extended
periods of time. The VQ660 headset has digital sound level monitoring and alert technology
to maximise your hearing protection. The User Exposure Alert (UEA) feature constantly
calculates the overall sound output through the headset speakers and gives a warning (an
alert) when the average daily exposure through the headset reaches a pre-defined level. The
warning is in the form of a notification with the following short message: “daily hearing
exposure reached”. This message is then repeated every 5 minutes until either the UEA
feature is deactivated, or the headset is powered off, or the reset button is pressed. You can
deactivate/reactivate the UEA during music play (or pause) by pressing the FF and RW
buttons simultaneously for 2seconds.
Please note: the UEA calculation is based on daily sound exposure through the headset and
therefore it auto-resets itself after every 24 hours lapsed following headset power on. Power
cycling or resetting the headset deletes the existing User Exposure data.
5.5. VQ660 special feature – Base-Boost
You can activate/deactivate the Base-Boost feature during music play (or pause) by pressing
the MFB twice repeatedly.
5.6. Answering a call while playing music
You can receive a call while listening to music if your VQ660 headset is paired and
connected to your mobile phone as well as your music device. Simply press the MFB once
momentarily to answer the call. On call termination the music resumes automatically. The
time taken to resume music streaming may differ depending on your device.
Please note that your headset can only be connected with two devices simultaneously using
different profiles, i.e., HSP/HFP (telephony profiles) for mobile phone and A2DP/AVRCP
(music profiles) for music device. A given Bluetooth® profile can not be used by more than
one device at a time.
5.7. Headset status indicator light
